I love seeing Julian so happy about something, I am used to seeing him bored and uninterested about everything
He did not want to do that radio interview 🤣.
i know it's so nice to see, henry was also hyped up
He's happy because he's talking with a smart person, that have very interesting things to say.
So humble
@@jchain5449
Such a beautiful person.
And he has his notes Aww!
I can't stop thinking of Mick Jagger while watching Henry's hair.
me too xd
Very deep comment
Mattie Mclean lmfao so true
Someone understands mee
This is why i respect julian so much is how he steps out of the media bubble and isnt afraid to compromise his image and aims for truth
afraid? how would this compromise his image?
@John D lots of his fans are conservative or just don't really like "woke liberals" and Julian would be classified as one by them, but he doesn't care.
So glad Julian is informed..when he's being interviewed about his music he's uncomfortable and shy...he is very comfortable here discussing things he's very passionate about...not that he's not passionate about his music...never seen him so relaxed..a lovely great interview
Julian sees music as a job. He sees political everything as his passion. Julian wishes too make an impact on the younger generation but he struggles with being an extrovert.
I think that being the interviewer instead of the interviewee makes him more comfortable
This is such a great interview. The fact that Julian likes to talk, investigate and debate about what's happening in our society it's truly amazing and inspiring. You go dude!
Compare this with how much he wants to talk in the narduwar interview...... clearly wants to dedicate his mental energy to what's really important :)
He's about 20 years behind. This shit has been spoken about for years.
Not only is he really late but this was all put on by rolling stone so I don’t think it’s so much that he’s interested in everyone of the topics they talked about I think it’s more like he does it for appearance purposes. These musicians and actors/ celebs want you to think they’re on your side but I don’t see any sort of change coming from that side of the spectrum.
This interview is absolutely amazing. Thought it would be media bullshit but everything he said was true.
@@mmjz10 i quote those precious words:
These musicians and actors/ celebs want you to think they’re on your side but I don’t see any sort of change coming from that side of the spectrum.
TIME will tell you
YOU are ridiculous
want you to think they’re on your side can't stop laughing that one great futur for you my man
"Where did you get your political consciousness from?"
Easily one of the most powerful questions I've ever stumbled upon.
Should be a more commonly asked question but people today, have no political consciousness, they treat politics like sports or entertainment.
yall are so fake deep lol its not that crazy of a question
Fuck off, Laura.
it rlly isnt a powerful question though. 90% of the people HAVE TO be politically conscious about the issues they face, since they have no other choice but to learn whats happening, why is it happening and affecting them etc. so... i dont see why it would be a powerful question.
its like saying why do black people support blm. since its affecting them first hand lol
A sense of self reflection and compassion for other people...wow that is powerful.
That was one of the most prosaic things he said in the interview lmao and that's the part you thought was "powerful" 🤣🤣🤣
"I never doubted that I would compromise my dignity by living on my knees instead of standing up for myself" is a bit better.
@@wisco9er536u gotta have self reflection and compassion in order to stand up 😅
10:13
"I wanna see people exhibit two things: a sense of self-reflection, and a compassion for others. That's the key."
idk why but that's so profound to me :')
If mick jagger and John Lennon has a child it would be that man
Very interesting video. I like Julian's reaction when Henry said "I have a question for you". lol
Julian with is voice could be a singer, interviewer, spokesman for the white house, great voice
Ye he should start a band man
@@Juliancasabigchungus ;)))
it has been a perfect playing for me haveing a lovely and awesome fan like you, thanks for your love, i have you mostly to be thankful for.
I didn't think I could be a bigger fan of this guy till I saw this. Holy damn.
jules seems so much happier and.. well.. more alive than in the interviews where he is asked question. we can see he's really doing something he likes here, unlike the boring interviews where he's always asked the same questions.
great video, really interesting!
Casablancas is so much more than a pretty Rockstar! I truly admire him!
I smiled when I read "The modern age"
me too
i thought we wud knew the song no reference tho
same lol
i cried
re same
Julian seems like a really great wonderful person 🥺
he is!
well damn julian you know whats up!!!!
He's a notionalist, intellectual, and worried by today's world..
sheet do you got one of the jackets?
yes I doo ! but they will be in restock in the website soon so don't pay double on ebay !
+Christian G That's so cool :D
This guy's awesome, I love Henry Giroux and have for years, definitely one of the world's most important intellectuals today. So cool to see Julian, whose work I have admired for years to be doing this interview. His lyrics always had me suspecting he had a mind wise beyond his years, an old soul...
I wish julian talk more about what he thinks
i still seeing a part of teenager julian in him 💔❤️
Interesting conversation. I wish it was longer. I love how Jules is so fun and wild when he performs, but he is also this soft spoken gentleman. I have this fantasy in which I hang out with Jules, we party hard and we talk about human existence all at once. I know, I am so doomed!! Much respect Jules.
He explained so many things that I just want to scream about, but can’t put it into words. Incredible.
the way that he says his name, it's just gorgeous
That reminds me, I'm gonna listen to Ize of the World now and absorb the beauty of that song! It is still, to this day, my favorite Strokes song and definitely the most underrated song out there
first impressions or earth is the most underrated album in history.
i love my politically conscious father
Zephyr, is this you????
Male dad*
Amazing series! Thank you so much for everything.. I hope this will continue..
Hi, Rolling Stone. Please make this video accessible: put subtitles.
I agree
@@giov7 Me too
More of these, please.
Great Interview!! Thanks Julian
It's much easier to fool a person than to convince them that they've been fooled
Julian really does use his talents to make the world a better place
Very important conversations to have. I wish this was a series. Make it so. The juxtaposition of artist and “intellectual thinker” lends itself to the modern day generational divides. It’s important for our creative and academic minds to use their spotlight to highlight the often ignored sides of the human condition.
"A sense of self reflection and Compassion for other's, that's the key"
Just stumbled across this and it’s my new favorite video
people always see julian as a guy who is always high or acting silly all the time. they don't think he's ever serious, but right here, in this very interview, we were able to see the julian we know. i absolutely love him. not just for his talent or his music, but for the person that he is. he's never afraid to speak his mind or be himself, despite of everything. that's, above all, inspiring to me. i wish him all the best ❤️ our jules
This is amazing! I admire both of them :)
Wow, great interview. Do more of these!
it has been a perfect playing for me haveing a lovely and awesome fan like you, thanks for your love, i have you mostly to be thankful for.
This helps alot and makes me understand my sociology class alot more! Thanks Julian!
The 4 pixels on your profile picture are really cool
I just want to say thanks. The fact I could watch this. In itself, it's something to celebrate.
Amo a este tipo!!! Simplemente no m canso d verlo

Es divino es perfecto🖤🖤
I want more!
Brilliant. Wish more young kids would open there eyes and ears and truly see and hear what's happening in our world. Great great interview and video. Wish I could see entire piece unedited and full. Thx 🙏🏻
great interview, i like julian taking up on this role. good for him.
They did Jules dirty with that side angle lol
Yo. He’s a musician. He doesn’t give a shit about your standards of beauty. 🙄 leave that for the mainstream bs artists that you’re listening to.
^ calm down lmao
Lily-May x nah gotta check ppl on this shit. Had I said nothing you’d turn this into a fashion thing.
janeswurld lol he does care he’s actually really insecure about his looks and he takes hours to get ready to go out.
@@Mrboomtactix where did you see that information?
I admire both of them so much
great great interview! congrats!
1:04 i was like " wait..what happend to jules hand"...
Oh gosh, really creep 😂😂😂😂
Lol that's hilarious
Me too 😂
Lmao
Love it😂😂😂😂
Wish this had more views! Insightful!
A sense of self reflection and compassion
Julian looks really happy here (:
Still my dying wish to see this man perform live. And shake his hand if that's not pushing it.
love this. really evokes a cry for awareness of global political situation -- super inspiring. thanks Julian & Henry.
it has been a perfect playing for me haveing a lovely and awesome fan like you, thanks for your love, i have you mostly to be thankful for.
💀
best interview ever!!!!
This deserves more views.
It's wild the difference in Julian's tone of this interview as opposed to fluff interviews about his music
i beyond love this guy
Well this was pleasantly Brilliant!!.
I love julian :'(
More people need to see this
Amazing interview!
it has been a perfect playing for me haveing a lovely and awesome fan like you, thanks for your love, i have you mostly to be thankful for.
The Modern Age section reminded me of Julian’s lyrics “The end of living and the beginning of surviving”, from one of the voidz songs, I forget which one though. But I’ll never forget those words.
I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that we don't live in a democracy anymore
lovely a constitution which is fixed and so strong could be a potiential key
Such a good insight and interview. Always knew their music touched on this subjects but to interview n research wow big respect Julian. On the other note. Maybe every generation feels the same who am I to judge but my generation me being born in 91 is the most lost confused hopeless f'ed up generation. Thank you society.
Thank you for this ! I like Casablancas even more now that I know that we share the same political opinions. It was a very interesting video.
He should interview Chomsky next !
Loved the quote of Camus at the end, one of my favorite writers.
Please please please make another
More of these kinds of informative talks on the status of democracy in current times by artists, influencers etc, keep the message alive, out in the open for all to see, hear and comment on, we cant sit back and let the corporate manipulators have their greedy way suppressing the people to cater to the 1%, Julz is a bright light in a dark greed driven society where democracy is becoming vague memory and not the norm of life that it must be. Beautiful interview.
it has been a perfect playing for me haveing a lovely and awesome fan like you, thanks for your love, i have you mostly to be thankful for.
Most normal videos whereby Julian is being interviewed about his music is usually stilted and awkward. Its a breath of fresh air to see that he really does have passion and a personality and that he is much more interested in deeper topics.
`
Well duh cuz the focus is not on him answering the questions lol
Thank you
1:04 LMAO for some reason i thought that was Julian's hand
Please make this video accessible for all, put subtitles, please.
Great video!
Two amazing men
Very important stuff they're talking about!
Now THIS ladies and gents, is a quality conversation! I disagree with alot of what was said HOWVER, respect to the level of conversation and topics!
I loved this
Please make another Strokes LP Julian
Thank You
I randomly clicked on this and it's the same day but 3 years later...
We ALL of us need talk like that to think more in a positive way!
JC, im impressed with you.
Important interview made fun. Well done.
good conversation ,
Very nice job on every front.
I Love this conversation, Julian is the fucking man
I always thought that Juian Casablancas grew up a spoiled kid with everything handed to him but I forget that it's the inner self that matters in realizing what is truly going on in the world and in genuinely trying to resist a maladaptive way of life for oneself and for society.
This made my Whole day!
mee too
Prof Giroux makes me think of my International Relations Professor in Florence, Prof. Bozzo. Analyzing facts, not taking any side, no prejudgments or bias whatsoever. This is how I formed my opinion on politics, policies and international relations.. ideas and dry analysis rather than affiliation to parties and lobbies.
Thank you for this video.
“The deeper I get, the less that I know”
If Julian runs for president...
I'd vote for him! and how awesome would that be to be at the White House while your last name is "Casablancas"
Or Henry Giroux for president
long as its not kid rock lol
What about Henry tho
georgette he would get assassinated
Wow loove Julians jacket shows that he have fashion sense background
Great stuff Julian, keep on doing this kind of stuff :)
P.S this dude he is interviewing is like a younger Bernie Sanders :P
I hope Julian is wise enough to know that socialism is just as terrible as what this guy is railing against
@@smoothbeak I KNOWWW i was looking for this comment, this guy's body language, his accent and everything gives off major Bernie energy

What geniuses!
Why so short??? Was ready to be sat here for an hour
It would be great if you put subtitles for Latin America, cause Henry G. is a thinker who transcends borders, and is very, very important for the educational professionals.
07:55 does anyone know what Chris Hedges video is Julian referencing to?
aldown dude i thought the same thing and would like to know so lmk if u find out what video they are referring to
The amount of corporate advertisements on this anti-corporate video is very telling.
I see a Vaclav Havel's book on the shelf and I know I can trust this man.
jules 💓 we love u😍
I can't find the video subtitled to spanish of this interview ,someone can help me to find it????????
