Irish Snowman, Thanks very much for supplying this Cup Final. Good performances by Devonshire and Brooking for the Hammers and Talbot and O'Leary for Arsenal.
Fat cats need constantly feeding unfortunately, they couldn’t care less either 👎..Never move from hallow turf, just improve or build again but that probably wouldn’t bring them the highest profit so they throw it away like carbage
i was 12. lived in West London. it was warm, a saturday, we had french doors in back open and cup final on telly. this was one of the greatest moments in my childhood and life.
1:38:18 To this day I remember my mum jumping out of her chair and muttering those immortal words “You fucking no good ginger headed cunt”. There were about 10 people in out front room watching it and the room went silent as everyone looked at her, my mum was not a swearer so everyone looked in a state of shock. Doubling down she said “Well he his!” The room felt about laughing and even my Nan who normally would have been reciting the bible or something was in stitches and so was I the 8 year old boy watching one of the greatest moments of my life. COYI and RIP Mum & Nan miss you loads!
YNWA a staple of football chants from the old days. As an LFC fan, have come to learn it's not exactly unique. I prefer the Old Wembley and I prefer the old England.
1:44:00 - yep - the winners used to go up the steps first - just as i remember it - these days some say the winners always went up second - they do today but i can't remember when they changed it.
I went to this game with a friend we didn't have tickets but when we got to the turnstiles we saw people getting in by giving the man there money we got in without a ticket so did a lot of other people remember it being really hot and it was like being in a tin of sardines you couldn't move we got in the West ham end.
One of the best days of my life. Love you Hammers.
I still remember watching it as a 10 year old like it was yesterday 👍

Beautiful game then, and a beautiful Wembley stadium. How did we lose it all?

I can vividly remember watch this cup final when I was 14 back in 1980. I wanted West Ham to win....and they did!
I didn't even see this game as I was in the States( regretting every moment I was there), was overjoyed that the Hammers won......
I was 13 years old greatest day of my life never forget that day John lyall was a legend

You mum said that! That's just brilliant, my mum would have said "which one is Georgie Best then?"

Great video. I was six years old in a half and half hammers and arsenal home.

Willie young should got sent off V A R
Unfortunately, George Courtney like a lot of referees at the time, lacked a certain item between the legs.
I believe is was Brian Clough who once said "Trevor Brooking floats like a butterfly, aye and stings like one too!" Devonshire was a talent wasnt he!
This game cost me a pound. I was 11 and a quid then was a fortune! 😭
Well worth the extra 2 months for absconding from borstal to go to this. Up The ‘Ammers. !
Back when FA Cup was the big football football competition in England until premier league exist and took over...
Fan of Brooking and Bonds.
I've only just realised both teams played in their away kits, why was that?
i was in basic training... one of the staff was a hammers fan... ere, we won he told me!
the size of the video is too big.
And just think, just 43 short years later, they won something else 😁😁 COYI!

I Was there and it never accord to me that both teams wear the 2nd kicks
A Brooking headed goal .. lol … COYI
Was it an intentional header?.
@@Funeeman ofc Sir Trev said so lol and he wouldn't lie surely ! Either way it was a great moment for a hammers fan.
Remember the great player he was starting off the move and was in the box to put the ball in the net what a hero
Attendance for the 1980 FA Cup Final was a sellout crowd of 100,000 fans.
