    Steve McKenzie's equaliser for City was one of the all-time great cup final goals in my opinion yet never gets a mention because of Ricky Villa's brilliant winning goal.

      Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur 1981 FA Cup Final replay (WEMBLEY STADIUM FULL MATCH) 13.5.24 You just want a remind me i did away with the neutral stance , where FA Cup is concerned, and supported city for this set of 2 for the price of one finals... i was in london for this - on school trip. not at the final, though, sadly.... watched it on telly. and came to the conclusion that i was a jinx. coupled with the Argentinian experience... city had no chance. the initial fa cup final was a far superior game.... i thought. you didnt need to remind me - i could have told you this...as, indeed, i have.

      Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur 1981 FA Cup Final replay (WEMBLEY STADIUM FULL MATCH) 1049am 13.5.24 if yer a football (ie: soccer fan) it's north vs south. if yer a football (rugby fan) it's lancs vs yorks. simplified for you... Wembley's made a hell of a lot of money from those (mythical) divides. and why not?

    Great entertainment, In the first 12 minutes there were 2 goals, and 2 clear handballs in the penalty areas, and a free-kick hitting the post. Hard to find such good entertainment in 2021 games right now.

    One of the best finals ever,at the iconic OLD WEMBLEY.I’m sorry but I hate the NEW WEMBLEY which is just a soulless corporate stadium.What was Norman Foster thinking when he designed it? Not incorporating the twin towers,no tunnel from the East stand,which made the players walk onto the pitch almost gladiatorial like and a terrible walk up to the Royal box.Even Wembley way is boxed in by high rise hotels.Terrible,absolutely terrible what they’ve done😪

    • @davidhuggan6315
      @davidhuggan6315 3 года назад +2

      He also said there are no shadows on the pitch but there are!

    • @seltaeb9691
      @seltaeb9691 2 года назад

      The twin towers actually weren't made of stone but of a compressed sort of chipped wood type of thing, so they couldn't be moved or took apart as it would have just fallen apart. They were fake towers of stone & a fitting tribute, if they could have been kept, to the fake 21st C football, in all its aspects, we have now.

    • @paulwilliams8389

      Agree with everything you say. Also there was something magic about those old goalposts and stanchions at the old Wembley as well - they could make even a tap in somehow seem like a great goal!

    What I've been hoping for is the 1st match in full which was the far better game, but for some reason it's not released except for short highlights & this has happened to a few 2 gamed FAC finals like Brighton v Man United & Chelsea v Leeds tho I've got the first game bootleg.

    To think in the 33 years since Spurs have won 5 trophies. This for many clubs might be a good return but when you compare it to the other 'big' clubs it is distinctly lacking.

    Much as i loved Brian Moore, he missed so many fouls and incidents that he was apparently mystified about. Admittedly Leftie woke Tyler has many more instant angles now days, where he bottles it, until he gives an opinion. Var is interesting now, because it keeps refs on their toes, and exposes ineptitude. I mean Hackett was praised for his performance in the first match, but even in the first 10 minutes or so, hes let 2/3 bad fouls go, (including a nailed on red for Gow), ''not seen'' 2 blatant pens to Man CIty, and let go a sandwich double foul by Ardiles and Miller on Power. That's not just needing var, thats just crap refereeing from Hackett, believing his own publicity from the first match. God knows what he let go for the rest of the match, the above comments only cover the first 15 mins. Might re edit, when i get a chance to go through the whole match lol.
    10:31 Gow wipes out Ardiles (Moore oblivious) RED CARD imho and possibly a revenge tackle for something that happened on the saturday.
    13:16 Villa ''subtly'' takes out Reeves ankles - PENALTY(Charlton & Moore cant work out why KR didnt get a shot in.!)
    15:49 Hutchison handball. Refs didnt always give pens on the edge of the box them, they do now - either, way, at least a free kick and would definitely be a PENALTY under todays rules.
    21:34 Miller and Ardiles double foul on Power. Ref should have at least booked Miller after he had allowed play to carry on.
    21:43 Clear handball by Roberts - PENALTY (possible 2nd handball directly after it hit Roberts.)

      Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur 1981 FA Cup Final replay (WEMBLEY STADIUM FULL MATCH) 1101am 13.5.24 he was old timey journo - wherein he had to do it all himself (bar edit the footage for the viewers)...he might even have done that!!!. yeah, i like that kindda journalism..... as opposed to nowadays hysteria, wherein a continuity links personage has a crew of 100 to aid him on his way to delivering nothing more than a set of football scores. BM probably had to do it all himself as he couldnt rely on anyone else - let alone a tawdry telephonic system forever hijacked by his cohorts and the wannabe sports' journo types eager to have that plum job... refer to motd with gaz and chums bellowing at one another............... crap!!!! i prefer the laid back BM approach (do not confuse with BM of rugby union fame)... tyler? i still need to meet him to sign my book..... where does he reside? p.s maybe you could have an opinion and walk the high street safe in knowledge that such b.s wouldnt be construed as a religious sentiment or a damning tirade against a certain set of fans....(?)
