My mate Walter was a lifelong Spurs supporter. He went to the lane hundreds of times, was there through thick and thin, and was at Wembley on this very day. He died of Lung Cancer in July at age 81, and may he rest in peace.
I was 7 at the time. Watched the first half on BBC and the second half on ITV with the great Jack Charlton as the pundit. My dad leapt up when Villa scored his second and his zippo lighter flew out his pocket and smashed our living room window.. Great match, proper football. Glenn Hoddle my hero. I couldn't do any of his skills but I copied him by jogging with my fists closed and my thumbs up. Great times.
The first FA Cup Final I can remember. I was 6 years old and probably won't see any better than this one. Great to see footy shirts with no sponsors on them too. Must've been one of the last seasons without them.
A day never to forget. Couldn’t get a ticket for the first final, but got one for the replay. What a day!!! Great memories, had a great night on that day!!!
My first season watching City. I couldn’t get a ticket for the first game but went to the replay . First time I have seen the full game since that night all them years ago. Spurs were a cut above City, no doubt. It was a warm day, the City coaches a thin blue line in a sea of Spurs fans. Stood in literally the same spot on the East terrace against Gillingham in the play off final then again when we beat Arsenal in the 2018 League Cup Final, obviously a new stadium by then, and a different City!
Classic, not a Tottenham supporter but always enjoyed watching them as a young footy mad kid, they had some great players & always loved to see Hoddle play, he could do things others of his generation wouldn't get close to, very under used by England
It's the first match we need in full as the replay wasn't as good but as usual they only give highlights of the first match when there's a replay, on the dvd.
Thanks for uploading this! I had just listened to a podcast with Ossie Ardiles and Ricardo Villa and I wanted to see the match for myself. It did not disappoint! What a great match! Even a neutral could enjoy this one. Even better if you're partial to Spurs!
Be a dream to see my Spurs lift this again, League Cup is better than nothing and it's the best chance we have of silverware but the FA Cup would be a dream
So there was the 19 yr old Steve McKenzie about to go down in the annals of FA Cup history for the best ever goal in a final when - hang on - what's that talentless cab-horse of an Argentinian doing with the ball............oh
I have to correct you twice I'm afraid.. First Mcjenzie's goal WAS a better goal and secondly you should have used an apostrophe instead of a comma... ah well

This was the first FA cup I watched live. Tottenham has been my favorite team ever since.....
Great comment. It was my first time watching the final live as well. I've been a spurs fan since. I guess we are showing how old we are.
What's more is that it's important for younger generations to see this, good on you for uploading!!
Classics,
Thanks for this full-blooded100th Cup Final.

When the FA Cup meant something

I travelled from Manchester on both occasions, for me still seems like yesterday., Two great games.

what a match, thanks for uploading.

Scandalously wasted by England! Just 53 Caps !! He always seemed to be 'on trial' in every game and 'The Crab' Ray Wilkins often took his place.

1:14:23 What a ball from Hoddle!!
Desde Argentina grande Ricardo villa
Ricky villia, legend

Which podcast was that Patrick? (if you don't mind me asking), would love to hear them talk about this game
@@callithowiseeit5806 guess he wants to keep it to himself
was it really 36 years ago I remember it like it was yesterday what a team spurs had then I hope the boys of 2017 can do the same
An action packed battle, fantastic performance by all players, but the man of the match should go to the Ref
Can't understand why City did not give Dennis Teaurt the full game. He alone seemed to possess the lethal striking power City could have done with.
HAVE A NİCE DAY.. WATCHED THIS VIDEO TOO. LIKE FROM COUNTRY AZERBAIJAN
Attendance for the 1981 FA Cup Final Replay was 92,000 fans.
The first final was really good but for some reason if it goes to a replay the first one all you get is some highlights.
McKenzie best goal in a Wembley final
Villa;hold my beer
The empire Stadium wembley 🙏🏻🙏🏻

quartas de final da copa de 2002 Brasil x Inglaterra
por favor!
Think this was the 100th cup final.Great game.
I think Leeds won that in 72
@@andyforshortbutnotforlong5351 oh ok bud fair play always up for football facts thanks
Its quite weird in those days that the manager of each team sat side by side at the bench. Imagine mourinho sitting beside wenger
What system are Spurs playing?
Galvin wide left, Hoddle and Ardilles in the middle, Villa in the hole?
Who is covering the right of midfield?
Brazil x England 1970 please.
CITY💙👑
Be a dream to see my Spurs lift this again, League Cup is better than nothing and it's the best chance we have of silverware but the FA Cup would be a dream
