This song is a perfect choice for Black History Month and Black Lives Matter. 🥂 Did you know that I only sang the first verse in my elementary 🏫 chorus for Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday 21 years ago in January? I rocked!

THE BEST RUclips video clip. I remember those years as a teenager. I played this for decades as a NYS certified Music therapist in many nursing homes for Black History month, and in a few Baptist churches where I was the organist .I've loved this song for decades. I shall be singing the first verse (being an alto, an octave lower) in two weeks in church.

This songs message and lyrics is beautiful its a shame the NFL is labeling this song the "Black National Anthem and using it to divide us. We are all united as Americans and we will not let them divide us by our color!

Amen 🙏👑🧡. In honor of all the George Floyds and Breonna Taylors who have been taken by murderous, racist police officers (lest we forget Eula Love and Rodney King and the untold thousands of others) let there be no mistake ~> there is NO turning back now. Amen 🙏👑💜

The government made a fatal mistake--they gave the most suicidal generation the US has ever known a cause worth dying for. Just last week I participated in a peaceful protests and we were beaten by the KKK with Confederate flags and Trump flags...it was the scariest experience of my life but I want to fight even harder now.

Sorry, this is your misunderstanding of the song and its essence. But it's All Good for a conversation that is much needed in America and other countries that have deliberately promoted ignorance on the REAL history of oppression, racism, and segregation. We appreciate and respect your thoughts regarding critical historic moments in times that we all are experiencing in one way or another as members of the Human race, regardless of our difference of opinions about the spiritual revelations and inspirations captured in a song.

If you got that this song promotes segregation, then you and people who think like you are part of the problem!! This song was around way before MLK was born and was song at all of is marches!!

Dr King made many speeches and to just focus on one sound bite of a speech for the last 50yrs is irresponsible because by 1967
MLK said his dream had become a Nightmare...
If you're gonna quote a man quote him in his entirety

    • @papaphatal
      @papaphatal  2 года назад

Thanks for your insight and feedback, Lucky Andrews. But with much respect, please try to understand why Dr. King's Dream turned into a Nightmare. In spite of a cruel and insensitive world (namely, the USA), it does not negate the fact that he had a Dream and that Dream has inspired numerous Americans and others throughout the world to also have a Dream of a Better World towards equality and justice for All. So quoting in "entirety" or using the lone power of an amazing Dream, that standing alone speaks for itself - We should all be Blessed to know that we can Dream bigger than the four walls of our resident or unfortunate living conditions.

I'd agree to a certain extent. Kings "Dream" was for Blk folks but it got hijacked and turned into a kum bya ya moment an intergreationist struggle a Blks must always love Un conditionally everybody, include everybody in our just struggle. With slogans like Blks & Brown, Minorities, Illegal Immigrants, LGBT, ect.
While these other groups are ethnic specific when it comes to their interest. Such as the LGBT Equality Act of Last signed into law last year.
The Asian specific crime bill plus hundreds of millions.
NY State setting aside 2.1 billion specifically for illegal immigrants.
2.8 billion to the Bureau of Indian Affairs...
Yet when it comes to the Blk community whos votes heavily contributed to putting Biden Harris into the White House all we're getting is token symbolism not Tangibles.
Anything specifically done for the Blk community is ";racism" Segregation and they've used this and intentionally focused solely on two of MLKs speeches to trip Blk people into to thinking we're supposed to take care of everybody.
But do you see everybody taking care of us?
India went to the Ukraine and picked their people up,
      Africans are still there suffering
That's because everybody else put themselves FIRST. MLK woke up to that reality towards the end of his life-------

    • @papaphatal

@@luckyandrews.566 You are definitely On Point with the reality of what I see as the CORRUPT system that has kept most blind to what the REAL deal is regarding community and having each others back. I am so TIRED of the STINK of politics that I really do not care to listen to the BS coming from the White House, Congress, and any other establishment that claims to be looking out for our best interest (mandkind). So I kinda think we see eye to eye on more than we realize. Thanks again for your honest feedback. I love to hear other sides of a real story that needs to be told and/or considered in a conversation.
