I’m so glad you did this story, with how many stories I’ve heard bout Bergson, faker, apto. I played league for years with my friends but never heard of forrelon. Really great story and very well made. It’s sad to see some people didn’t get the spotlight they deserved and could have became much bigger if things worked out a little better for them.
I remember this in season 2. Always saw him at the top in the client soloq ladder. Also Moscow 5 was the highest in 5v5 team ladder. Dominion was popular back then. And ARAM just came out or so. Used to play coop vs bots and custom vs bots to farm ip for runes. Champions used to come out every patch. Better nerf Irelia. Nostalgia :)🤔👍
I remember watching the 3000 elo shockwave live! I really miss some of the 'old guard' of League of Legends -- a simpler time in the game's history. But topping all of that is hearing the talent of Deman casting League games. I've watched a lot of esports and I must say he was the best out of any caster from any game and we were truly blessed to have him. I still secretly hope that he'll come back to cast Worlds one of these years.
Was amazing to see that qualifying series in person. Alternate were also part of the 4 way tie for second place that summer so not a bad showing for a team's first split!
Great content again, really got me emotional and nostalgic about the game.I was seeing ForellenLord and Kerp a lot back then but never knew their line of story.Hope you also put other forgotten players into spotlight in the future, love your works!
We need more players like him he ain't no simp, he's grinding on his main and isn't busy bullying low elo players just to feel good about him self and he achieved a great achievement, and didn't need to post videos about how he's dominating low elos
Not really, the elo system was already broken by WoW players in 2010 because season 8 went on for over half a year. Some of you might remember the popular Twitch Streamer Reckful. He broke 3k rating by 2010.
OMG I met Sologesang (mentioned at 8:27) in high elo TFT a bunch some time ago, no idea he used to be rank 2 EUW in League too. As someone who started with League in Season 3 I get to pick up a lot of history from these Season 1 and 2 vids, awesome stuff
As a new - ish player coming from preseason 7, I love seeing these tales of legends from the infantile era of LoL. Thank you, as always, Gbay99, for digging these stories up and packaging them up in an entertaining manner.
So much material from season 3 - old client, how everything is displayed - is nostalgic to me. Idk is it hard to find screenshots like that, but I like the fact that You did it
Strategically there is. He must remain aware of map variables, champion matchups, and more. . Another factor of greatness.. The best never believe they have reached their limit.
Everyone in Europe expected great things from team Alternate. They had the number one and number two rated players in the World in SoloQ, a former CLGEU sub and a S2 Worlds veteran, and Creaton was probably one of the better ADCs in EUW at that time. The 3k Elo Shockwave will be one of the best remembered from the inaugural season of EULCS, alongside Bjergsen's Penta in his second LCS week
Not only would a video about dopa be fitting after this wonderful video but a video about MagiFelix, too. I personally would say that these are the three big soloQ kings we have.
I finished season 1 with 1700 ELO and started ranked games in season 2 but then stopped playing. Imagine my shock coming back to League a few years later when it was a full-blown serious esport game. Now I'm back, but playing ARAM only.
Just a quick side note, Forellenlord returned to League and Streaming. He started Streaming in early 2020 he is going to University and is trying to get back into his old shoes. Really chill guy, he is Streaming in german still I dont think he'd mind if other people join his streams.
Forellenlord was never known, he played on the wrong era. I remembered, as soon as the video began, seeing a compilation many years ago called "3k elo shockwaves" and knew it was about forellenlord. What an accomplishment!
I normally do not comment on RUclips but here I have to. I am so glad you made this awesome documentary! Forellenlord is a true legend for me and I was a huge fan of Team Alternate.
18:11 Thought that was only ori ult not in combination with rumble's. If they did that combo in the current game state Giants would have been aced there and then most likely
I love these videos. Even though I stopped playing League regularly a long time ago I keep binge watching these documentaries. Loving the format, I hope more people appreciate it too!
Was waiting for you to show the 3000 Elo shockwave. Was not disappointed! Good video! I only missed Deman saying "3000 elo shockwave!" I think you should have included that.
I just wanna point out that Kerp, one of the three to hit 2600, used a trackball mouse... Yknow that thing where you use your thumb to move it... What a god
We also have a rating in *Disc Golf* . It's a sport that has been growing rapidly for the past few years but was invented over 40 years ago. When a new player attends a tournament he will get a rating depending on how well he played compared to the players who already have a rating. For us, to be _1000_ rated is kind of the point when you could consider to go pro. The average rating for men is around 900 or a bit lower and the best players in the world are above 1030 with the top player even having an incredible rating of 1054. I think this kind of system really makes sense but can't quite be used in LoL since you gain points in winning games together with 4 other people and not in having a certain skill level without others impacting your play.
It seems like there’s a sort of feedback loop. When one person pushes the elo boundaries, it’ll boost up other’s elo. This in turn pushes that person’s elo up. So it does seem, while extremely hard, that the elo could rise indefinitely. Hence the 2800s when homie hit 3k
To be fair, and I really don't mean this in a condescending way, when he broke record after record getting higher and higher elo the baseline elo also rose, meaning that the insane 2500 rating at the start of season 2 just rose to 2800/2900. We can also see in the graphs that there isn't a high discrepancy in points between him and the second ranked player which just confirms that when he reached 2900 a rating of 2700 or even 2800 wasn't really that insane so him reaching that number isn't this impossible feat.
a really good video, i learn so much about the league community from these videos since i only got into league like 3 years ago. Keep it up Gbay, making the league community so much better
i remember a friend telling me how this one guy broke 3k elo and we didnt believe him because how can anyone ever do that? we mostly played unranked, so the few times we tried ranked matches, we stayed very far away from any meaningful rating. but this guy just became godlike

How, HOW! Did you make me tear up watching a video about someone I have never heard of? Gbay, you are grossly underrated. Sure, I like and comment on videos on enjoy, but never share, except for videos like yours. The world of LoL needs to know what you are creating. We need this kind of content so badly. Thank you player.
Bruh the ip grind for runes and rune pages! I miss the old league it was so fun back then.
11:29
Every time I see this picture I can't help but see him as the antagonist for some kind of anime. He fits it so damn well.
Max ELO is a function of the total number of players, not the individual skill of any individual player.
I didn't start league until season 8 even casually, and didnt play regularly until season 9. Fantastic doc, had no idea this guy existed!
Oh god, you know it was a bad year when you feel uncomfortable seeing people hugging
As a new - ish player coming from preseason 7, I love seeing these tales of legends from the infantile era of LoL.
Thank you, as always, Gbay99, for digging these stories up and packaging them up in an entertaining manner.
damn you really missed out
Just to remember you about the ATN Forellenlord Montage, always Goosebumps.
I actually remember hanging out on some stream and breaking news to chat that ForellenLord has gotten 3k elo. This video brought back some memories
You really are pumping out great videos over and over in a short time. I am a long time follower and this is definitely your peak. Keep'em coming.
Tbh I think the modern god of lol is magicfelix due to his multiple accounts (having 5000 LP ) and being able to hit challenger on all the roles
true but he's not chad enough to keep playing on his main account after getting rank 1
Loving it! Each one of your documentaries is a masterpiece. Can't wait for the next one.
Amazing video as always Gbay! I quit league 5 years ago but still watch all your videos religiously
Just a quick side note, Forellenlord returned to League and Streaming. He started Streaming in early 2020 he is going to University and is trying to get back into his old shoes. Really chill guy, he is Streaming in german still I dont think he'd mind if other people join his streams.
Like the length of this video more then some of the previous ones. Much easier watch for me since I work a lot and am busy. Great video!! Keep it up!!
That was an awesome episode Gbay!
Good god I remember when Forellenlord going to LCS in Europe for a while... oh boy I wish it had turned out better for him v.v he was a cool guy
I love these videos. Even though I stopped playing League regularly a long time ago I keep binge watching these documentaries. Loving the format, I hope more people appreciate it too!
Was waiting for you to show the 3000 Elo shockwave. Was not disappointed!
Good video! I only missed Deman saying "3000 elo shockwave!"
I think you should have included that.
this channel is gold, please never leave yt
He recently started playing again, saw him online on my FL
Forellenlord created a Lot of tactics and Tricks with Champs we are using today Like its Casual.
Not sure why but I've actually been waiting for the day gbay covered this
You have immortalised my friend in this video as proof he was rank 7 on the season two ladder, hes the GOAT BLUNATIX
I never knew that "3k ELO shockwave" had any real meaning. Now I know where it came from.
I just wanna point out that Kerp, one of the three to hit 2600, used a trackball mouse... Yknow that thing where you use your thumb to move it... What a god
This guy is the olden day's Magifelix - truly insane soloq player
But there could be a 1v1 ranking system with this rating method🙂
It seems like there’s a sort of feedback loop. When one person pushes the elo boundaries, it’ll boost up other’s elo. This in turn pushes that person’s elo up. So it does seem, while extremely hard, that the elo could rise indefinitely. Hence the 2800s when homie hit 3k
F.Lord may have left an incredible mark on the game with his elo, but you're gonna leave an incredible mark on this game with your documentaries.
Ahhh the nostalgia. I was so passionate about the game back then
Gbay is the goat of league documentaries
Gbay has a way of making me care about things I didn't think I could care about.
4:22 caitlyn didn't cancel animation smh.
you mean trap e headshot headshot auto cancel machine gun?
To be fair, and I really don't mean this in a condescending way, when he broke record after record getting higher and higher elo the baseline elo also rose, meaning that the insane 2500 rating at the start of season 2 just rose to 2800/2900.
We can also see in the graphs that there isn't a high discrepancy in points between him and the second ranked player which just confirms that when he reached 2900 a rating of 2700 or even 2800 wasn't really that insane so him reaching that number isn't this impossible feat.
You must be fun at parties
Ahh, I remember seeing that 3k elo shockwave live.. This brought back memories, great vid!
Thank you for this nostalgia trip down to memory lane
Remembering that shockwave gave me chills. I was so happy
a really good video, i learn so much about the league community from these videos since i only got into league like 3 years ago. Keep it up Gbay, making the league community so much better
First video i watch in the new year is a Gbay99 video... Just like the good ole days :')
Another high quality documentation from GBay, thanks for the video and all the best for 2021!
Gbay is the grandpa to all the newer league players telling stories about the old days
Just played against ForellenLord in my D2 game, the legend himself!
Watched it so many times, still tear dropped when i saw oriana R. RIP
i remember a friend telling me how this one guy broke 3k elo and we didnt believe him because how
can anyone ever do that?
we mostly played unranked, so the few times we tried ranked matches, we stayed very far away
from any meaningful rating.
but this guy just became godlike
I remember watching Giants get eliminated from LCS (several times, actually,) but I never knew the story of the player that eliminated them.
playing since s1 and it felt really nostalgic reading all these OG names..
6:57 Tiridus name brings back so many memories
Just found ur documentarys. Playing since beta. Its just nostalgia for me . Thank You !
