I would like to see in his lifetime some focus on his drumming talent .
Seems like the main attraction is the Ramones celebrity role and a lot of people think
he does a simple fast 4/4 beat and that's it.
No one does what he does and if anyone really watched what he did with The Intruders
and Misfits performances I hope they would be able to notice that he went far beyond
most notable punk drummers pull off.
I would say he has to be the Buddy Rich of Punk Drumming .
It would be great that if he layed off the public Ramones icon
status for a year or so and churn out some new recorded material
that includes (not showcases) some of his most complex high speed punk drumming along with other styles he can do with precision. It would have to get marketed differently . The only thing is that would be a very "Un-Ramone" like thing to do. I don't think he would be into that .

I think this guy never actually understood what he was doing. It's bizarre that he never mentions Richard Hell - who started Television, invented the "Punk Rock look" & wrote classics like Blank Generation - since he was Richard Hell & The Voidoids' drummer and made 2 albums with them. In these interviews Instead of explaining that the music industry doesn't want to promote Rock'n'Roll because it has an agenda, he just repeats platitudes. And he must be wearing a wig too, since when he joined The Ramones in the late '70s he already had a receding haIrline...
