This is the Magic of Greeny. The tone controls also have a surprising effect in the middle position but not as much as the volumes, I have played the tom Murpys and the Greeny USA models together with the Epiphones and they are ALL slightly different but most are between 7 and 8 on the volumes when you hear this. Intersting how you wound the Neck pick up in the other direction but left to magnetic polarity the same. To address another comment Joe Bonamassa has a Gibson with the magnetic flip direct from the factory

It is unreasonable to assume that the Green Les Paul was not out of phase when it left the factory? it is well documented that the workers did not care for the solid body guitars some even disliked the cherry burst I understand ... Having three 61' PAF's one is out of phase..MAGNETICALLY ...the set are out of a 61' SG custom ...............
Sam Li rewired the pickup accidentally out of phase after Peter took the guitar to be fixed when the pickup in Greenie died .
