Your editing/voiceover is so good. The recurring clips of your daughter sewing and the finished dress at the end was great video making! You are not only a great homemaker but excellent videographer. I love seeing all the kids playing and helping. Adorable.
I really want to try your sausage, sauerkraut, and Apples casserole.Where might I find the recipe I think my family would like it. Thanks in advance. 💜
Your daughter making a cheesecake from scratch for her aunt is so stinkin sweet. What a beautiful thing! And what a testament to your motherhood that she desires to do that for women who have just given birth! So lovely!
Your daughter did a beautiful job with your dress! I love it. Your kids do not realize what a gift you have given them by the way you have raised them. Good job mom and dad!
I just can’t believe the job your daughter did! Children on laps while doing jobs, perfect learning, growing, makes me excited to take on the day in my home! Thank you Lisa!
You and your husband have done such a nice job at giving your children a well rounded life and teaching them some of the forgotten life skills that most children don’t have the capacity to do.
The world would be so much brighter if people taught their children skills instead of handing them I pads & gaming stations. What a lovely dress! And she made 2 !!!
Agreed. However, the skills not being passed down has been going on for a long time. Screens didn't help, but still...it's sad how much has been lost over the years.
It happened when women had to go to work to pay the bills. Working mother’s don’t have time and/or energy to learn and do a lot of these things. Also remember that the internet wasn’t available until recent years. You couldn’t instantly find out how to do something.
Lisa this was such a wonderful video! Im 65 and you have inspired me today to be more intentional in my home. Love the talented daughters, sewing and baking! Your voice over is so calming and the filming of your video is so beautiful!
This might be an odd comment but I want to tell you that when I feel stressed I like to watch one of your videos. Your voice and demeanor is so soothing that it calms me down from a stressful state. Keep up your awesome job of making beautiful videos!
Sometimes your videos are TOO inspiring and makes me jump up and do all my chores 😅 today I’m on top of it though so I’ll just sit here and watch this one 😉 congratulations to your sister 👶
As an autistic *homemaker, it is so affirming to hear you talk about feeling that you don't have time to do new things, even though they end up being simple and straightforward. I feel like one of my biggest struggles is having moments like these in areas that don't seem difficult to other people (because they aren't, inherently), but they still require that extra bit of energy to commit to doing.

Speech Language Pathologist here. I highly recommend IXL! By the way, I am often jealous of moms who stay home. Thanks for showing me that life is busy for all of us!!
So jealous!!! My kids are now 25 and 23 and I stayed home with then until they were 2 and 4 but watching this the tug at my soul was there that I wish I never felt the need to work out side of the home. 😊
We were a family of 9, I was the oldest girl, 2nd oldest child. We helped mom do all kinds of stuff, laundry, ironing, dishes, vacuuming, etc . Plus we helped dad outside. Cleaning out garage once a month, everything out and he would sweep it and hose it out, then everything back in. Yard work, mowing and weeding. All kinds of stuff. It was just how we functioned as a family. Btw Lisa, it makes me smile to see your kids. Your daughter with her little brother sitting on her lap while she shows him how she sews! How cute is that!!! Your son drinking up the last bit of honey from the jar, the baby with his precious smiles. I especially liked all the boys surrounding dad to watch the drone. They were probably biting at the bit to try it for themselves😂! It’s so cool to watch the family together . Thanks for sharing, God bless your family. Amazing job on that beautiful dress! You look lovely!😊
I watched your sister’s birth story and the fact that you decided not to nurse before you left home so you could quickly get to her was so intuitive of you. I believe God lays those thoughts in our minds.
Wow, I'm so impressed by what you've taught your daughter! And seeing her with one of her little brothers on her lap while she sews, so heartwarming! You are an awesome mom
Wow. Your daughter did an amazing job sewing that dress. It’s absolutely darling! The cheesecake looks delicious! I really enjoy watching this video. It’s my favorite kind from you.
Im so glad we got to see the dress and cheesecake! What wonderful skills your children have from wonderful lessons they received while coming along side of mom and dad. Homeschooling and simple living is amazing!
I think what people like to fid in your videos is the PEACE in homemaking since most people do not even have a good community or even family to learn from. You guys have really inspired many. Keep it up. God bless you all.
Oh my gosh, THAT DRESS!!! WOW, just WOW!! Talent right there, it turned out beautifully. That girl has got skill. It looks so complicated and she nailed it. ❤❤❤❤
You heart and home and example to your children (and us) blesses and inspires. I agree - simple living is not easy living. It takes intentionality, because it is, frankly, counter cultural.
Lovely dress! I love the everyday life of cooking, cleaning and laundry and like you said one has to be home to do these things efficiently 😊 Love all your videos 🩷
For the sake of some set rhythm, I take Monday/Tuesday for cleaning our second floor, Wednesday and Thursday for first floor, and kitchen on Friday since that’s also my grocery shopping day. If there are projects that need to be done I just work on them when I’m in that space. But otherwise, I try to do what you do and just deal with whatever I see is needed! I wish we could have one big cleaning day so everything’s done at the same time but alas, this just isn’t the season 🙃
It’s like stepping back in time but still with a modern feel. Being a first time mom, my goal is to do more at home and more made from scratch items. I didn’t have those memories with my mother and that is something I want my daughter to remember. You are inspiring. Thank you for the vlogs. Your home is so cozy
I loved this video! I was sitting and watching thinking that I wish all young ladies that are starting families would watch you so they could learn so much about homemaking and raising children. Let me tell you the dress your daughter made for you was absolutely cute. It looked great on you and she is very talented.
The dress turned out beautifully! I love that she smocked it herself. Thank you for sharing your routine it reminded me of some of mine that I’m going to bring back. Have a blessed day!🦋💐🦋
Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I wish watching Lisa’s videos, especially ones like this one, could be required “curriculum” for all young ladies prior to marriage!!! Love you Lisa!!!
Such a fun day at home. My daughters also learned to sew and bake at a young age. Recently when watching old home movies my daughter said “ he did help with the dishes (our oldest son)!” Yes he did I think she was thinking of her teenage sons. Children are so much happier when they help with the chores. It gives them a purpose.
Your daughter did a beautiful job on that dress! Congratulations on them both because they are developing and working hard on their hobbies! Its a great way to keep them busy and motivated
Yes, if you prefer you can watch my winter videos on here instead of what is happening currently. I can't quite film winter videos when we are nearing the 100 degree mark in Missouri!
@@FarmhouseonBoone I love watching you exploring the seasons I’m not in (and yes, I do also sometimes go back to watch some winter episodes to get some inspiration!). Thank you for your channel

Such a beautiful and inspiring video. The dress your daughter sewed for you is incredibly impressive…such a talented young lady! You foster such a wonderful life of learning opportunities for your children by being intentional about the life you are creating for your family and passing down wisdom and skills to them. I love and appreciate your videos so much, thank you!💜
Lisa, this is the first time I’m commenting here on your channel. I discovered you a few months ago and have been catching myself up. I really enjoyed this video and think it’s one of your best. I enjoyed seeing the behind the scenes and the kids. Everyone looks happy. I find your videos very relaxing to watch and so inspiring. I am 69 years old and past my homemaking years, but thoroughly enjoy reliving them through you. Thank you and God bless.
Your daughter did such an awesome job on that dress girl!!! I can see her working in New York for some famous person, or owning her own studio or boutique in her town. I love this channel. So refreshing that you are teaching your daughters homemaking skills. I love that they enjoy baking and sewing. The dress your daughter made is remarkable. I am blessed by our chanel.
Your daughter is so talented, and you look beautiful. Staying on top of your home truly is easier than a whole day of non-stop cleaning. I recently noticed that im washing more and more dishes by hand because my dishwasher takes 2 plus hours. I think "hmmm, will I need that item before then?"If yes, I just quickly wash it by hand, and it's ready to go.
Coming from large family I learnt very early on , it was all hands on deck...my mother did the washing us girls brought it in folded and helped iron..we dry cleaned our school uniforms polished our shoes changed our linens cleaned the house..help prepare meals etc...this gave us good standing for the future...as you are aswell Lisa..x
Thank you for the tips. I have over 51 years under my belt and I don’t do nearly as well as you do with less years. So I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. Your daughter did a beautiful job with the dress. Keep up the great job
Thank you for taking us along on a working day at your home. You gave lots of good tips. I love the dress that your daughter made for you. Both girls are so talented.
What a lovely episode. Your wise words can apply to so many situations too. Staying on top of things by spending more time at home and having less “stuff” works so well for me as a grandmother too, Thank you for for showing us how you do it.
I have to tell you that I am so thankful that you have shared how you lean more on doing what works, when it works, and also making meals with what you have more on the fly, rather than schedules and meal planning. In theory cleaning schedules and meal planning sound good to me, but they just don’t work for me, nor do I like them. You’ve reminded me that there is no one-size-fits-all and that is perfectly fine. You’ve helped remind me to do what works for me and own it. Thank you!
Thought of you and sent hellos and prayers into the universe as we drove through Missouri yesterday (STL to St Joseph!) as we travel from Florida to Washington for the summer. Wondering if any farmhouses we passed were you and daydreaming about homesteading here…it’s beautiful!

Yes! And heck, most adults don't do a lot of this stuff either. I've even known people in their 70s and older who could barely boil water. Yikes!
They have the capacity, not the knowledge
LOVED the more behind-the-scenes feel of this video with you, your kids and husband interacting and living life alongside each other!

In theory cleaning schedules and meal planning sound good to me, but they just don’t work for me, nor do I like them. You’ve reminded me that there is no one-size-fits-all and that is perfectly fine. You’ve helped remind me to do what works for me and own it. Thank you!
I'm so glad!
You are a wise woman, I wish to emulate you!
That dress is fabulous! Your daughter did an amazing job.
I think so too!
Thought of you and sent hellos and prayers into the universe as we drove through Missouri yesterday (STL to St Joseph!) as we travel from Florida to Washington for the summer. Wondering if any farmhouses we passed were you and daydreaming about homesteading here…it’s beautiful!
thank you so much! our home is very off the beaten path but Missouri is beautiful and has many gorgeous old farmhouses
Your daughters are just as talented as you are you have a great family ad your baby is so precious miss those days when my children were babies
