I would love to see a video about budget routines with total cost of each product added together - like a $40 routine, $80, $100, something like that. I budget my skincare monthly. Even if the products are less than $25, if you use 4 products that could be $100 which is… a lot for some folks. Love your content ❤
Excellent idea! The choices would show where to splurge and where to cut corners. PS An easy way to cut costs and improve the effectiveness of your skincare is to switch to adapalene or mail order tretinoin from overseas. PPS Try an online dermatologist for a month. Then pick up whichever strength they prescribed of tretinoin while traveling or order from overseas.
I’m a little surprised to hear you say (3:15) that peptides are very evidence based. Most derms I hear being skeptical toward peptides and saying the evidence is mostly manufacturer studies 🤔 (except copper peptides which have more research backing them and I do use these) Curious to hear your thoughts about this? Do you believe in the studies on the other peptides? Although the studies are manufacturer studies do you still find them promising? If they’re good I may introduce other peptides in addition to my copper peptides. (Although thankfully The Ordinary 1% CP contains a wide range of peptide complexes so I do get both types in one product)
I'm older & still in the workplace so need to look as young as possible. Can you suggest a light weight a light primer or foundation that will go over sun screen?
I love this video. Also I love your video for Rosacea. But not sure if this anti aging products are good for Rosacea. Would you make a video of anti aging, firming saggy cheeks, dark spot and acne scae removal for Rosacea prone skin?
Sponsorship makes me skeptical of actually trying your recommendations. I think i will stick to your neutral recommendations. You are still my favorite Dermatologist though.
@bh-ug5pb I agree with you completely. How can you believe anything they say? I know they are trying to make a living but I just can't trust the sponsored vids.
I agree and almost left the same comment. Usually she will preface her videos by acknowledging the products are not sponsored. She didn't claim that in this video so I'm not about to try any of these recommendations.
I was excited that I could get all products necessary for the morning routine and the evening routine (plus a few extra because I spent enough to get a free bundle) for just $80! I should have known it was too good to be true though because I was surprised when the products arrived and most of them are in much smaller tubes than I anticipated. I really hope I like the products because the ease of using one brand for everything really appeals to me.
Everything should be linked in her description box. As for oily skin, try a search like, the budget dermatologist oily skin, and see which of her videos pop up.
Im 51 ywars old..and have dark circles under my eyes and cracked lips from drynesss...now accentuated because i lost 100 pounds ...do you recommend the caffeine eye cream and tripeptide for cracked lips? Would you recommend either?
What kind of Retinol can I use that won’t make my skin very dry and flaky. I get so confused on all the products. Iam 51 and have sensitive skin and dry. Thank you for all the good videos
I don't think she's talked about microneedling. I might check shereene idriss or doctorly who've actually talked about at-home microneedling. Or an esty like Gin Amber.
I'd check out her video, black friday skincare sales!, Nov '22. She lists some exfoliants in that one. Dr Jenny Liu and Dr Dray also have an overview video of the brand/product recommendations. Dr Shereene Idriss mentions one in her affordable anti-aging video as well.
You can use vit c in the morning (a lot of dermatology channels recommend it before applying sunscreen). Dr Locke has been using bakuchiol in the morning instead of vitamin c for about a year.
Pretty sure in her recent vit c video, she recommends vitamin c (ascorbic acid) at no more than 20%. The inkey has a AA that's at 30% which would be too high and the 15% which has a vit c derivative that she's not a fan of.
Can you make a video about milia, please? I know other derms on youtube made some but I am curious to know your product recommendations. I would like to find a serum that has glycolic acid and salicylic acid combine together in one product and kinda safe around the eyes area. I don't want to put any retinoids since I didn't have great experience with this ingredient. Thanks on advance.
Hi Doc I watched all your videos and i loved it and more educated me about skin routines. Thanks a lot. I have one request for making video on skincare routines for men like age after 23
Most derms channels including male derm channels don't necessarily distinguish products between male and female. Some might in their shaving videos but for the most part they are consistent. There are derms who have videos on skincare for 20s, 30s, 40s, etc. Dr Daniel Sugai has shorts on skincare in your 20s. Dr Dray has some skincare in your 20s videos. Dr Shereene Idriss, Dr Sam Ellis, Dr Dray, Dr Jenny Liu, Skin by Dr. Azi, Dr Daniel Sugai have videos/shorts on skincare in your 30s.
I have a question. My eyes are very sensitive to chemical sunscreens. My eyes water and sting so much I have to wash it off. I even have to be a bit careful with mineral formulas too, as they occasionally do it too. I have to either use sunscreens formulated for sensitive eyes (which are more expensive), formulas meant for babies/toddlers or use mineral sunscreens and hope for the best. Do you know what could be causing this?
Some people are just sensitive to the ingredients. You probably have to make sure the sunscreen is dried down. Though that might not matter if you perspire. You can also use sun sticks or spf lip balms for the eye area.
But isn't it true that collagen cannot be absorbed through the skin as the molecules are too large? At least that's what I've always heard. Can you set the record straight for your subscribers, please? Thank you.

Yep, and then buy powdered ascorbic acid, just add water: about 1/4tsp per 1oz. 😉

I love the Inkey List! Their products have changed my skin for the better. ❤
Hello sunshine. You are a big help. You spend time on explaining everything. Like this about you. Thank you.🍾🥂
I love the inkey list products, The oat balm is amazing
How does this line compare to the Avene products you highly recommended? Price is better but are skin results the same or is Inkey List better?
I see several items that I want to try. The retinol and the moisturizer sound especially good.
what about vitamin C in the morning? can you pair that with peptide?
Any advice how to top up sunscreen when you’re wearing makeup halfway through the day?

My super affordable & successful routine:
🌅 in the morning:
1. Freshen up with diluted apple cider vinegar on a damp cloth
2. Apply home-made vitamin C (ascorbic acid in distilled water made fresh weekly).
3. Hyaluronic Acid moisturizer.
3.5. optional Bakuchiol
4. Mineral SPF
🌌Evening:
1. Cetaphil gentle cleanser (removes mascara & SPF).
1.5. Salicylic Acid wash on oily areas.
2. 👁️CastorOil
3. Matrixyl 3000 (Ordinary copper peptides)
4. Retinoid:💖 ADAPALINE (5x week)
*Glycolic Acid (2x week)
5. Moisturizer w/B3 (☀️ Cetaphil lotion 🧴/❄️ CeraVe nightcream🟣)
What is a good cream for broken red capillaries on the cheeks !!
Thank you
The channels that have talked about this say lasers. No topical cream will help.
Something with azaleic acid and/or tranexamic acid might help with redness in the area but won't take care of blood vessels, as db said

Where would I add a vitamin C in this routine, please?
Vit C would be right after cleansing, before any creams or oils.

What tinted or foundation do you use on this video xx

Could I use a Retinol when I'm on TriLuma or Tretinoin?

A lot of sunscreens seem to cause breakouts on my face. What can I do?

I would like to know about this too.
I would check out her rosacea video from a few months ago.
Where does the vitamin c serum fit into this?
In the morning. Dr. Locke has been using bakuchiol in lieu of vit c for about a year. So you can swap out a vit c for the bakuchiol.

That's gross. I didn't know that. There are vegan sources of squalene, thankfully. The inky lists retinol serum is vegan. I just looked it up.
Wasn’t a fan of this one particular because you didn’t recommend vitamin C and use a dermatologist. No vitamin C is extremely important.

SPF 30 seems too low.
SPF 30 is the minimum most derms recommend. Also, regardless of SPF, you're supposed to be reapplying every two hours.
