He takes forever to get to the point but this worked for me. Spoiler: open the back and unplug the pushbutton PCB. I only had to lift the button side of the back.
Mine is popping up the menu and the remote doesn't work, I push the input button on the side and it would work for a minute and then start doing it again, Do you think disconnecting the buttons board will work?
My television is closeish to my door. I sometimes use the buttons to cut the tv off, as I pass it. Other times, when I am connecting something I will use them to change input. I actually use mine, a decent amount. I could grab my remote, I guess. Maybe I could program another remote, just to leave in front of the television.

Try taking the little board out as I did and see how each button feels. If you have one stuck it’ll do this. Also make sure to try taking batteries out of remote, make sure it’s not causing issue.

My Insignia tv had a similar problem.
I just disconnected the lead to the switch (daughter board), problem solved.

I can't get the cable disconnected. I imagine there is some kind of clip that I have to push?
