Aldersgrense A tillatt for alle.
This is my BMW E60 525d with a mighty M57d25 engine. that`s a straight six diesel 2.5 liter engine. In the previous episode I tried to remove the rear muffler, but no change in sound, so now I hope this will help!
Hope you enjoy the video till the end.
What do you think of the exhaust sound now?

Disable agr as well
I'm here
@@EliasSlds Why? That will not affect sound?
@@FahreFilms it keeps your engine much cleaner ,pulls more fresh air and you may get around 0-10hp more. No sound but healthier and better.
As soon as I get my diesel dpf delete and agr delete :)
@@EliasSlds how to disable egr?
If you wanna have some sound while keeping the mufflers , downpipe is the way to go. But removing the DPF while keeping the stock mufflers does sure provide a deeper growly sound, it is noticeable but not obnoxiously loud. The turbo does wistle more too!
If u want it louder , than you need custom downpipe . Or just make one .
Yeah true, I could make one myself. But I’m happy with the sound now so I don’t think I will use more time on the exhaust 🤷🏼♂️ Does the tone of the sound change? Or just volume?
@@FahreFilms it sounds good , i have dpf delete on my 530d and sounds a bit louder with original muffler . But it sounds great .
Removing the dpf or cat is really unnecessary. It makes almost no difference in performance, only makes the car noisier and the car just stinks real bad because of the nox, making it absolutly disgusting and dangerous to breath that stuff in because it can cause cancer. If you want performance get a good tune and thats it.
@@FeZerret and so to get a better tune - You need a downpipe with no cat . So there is no differenc is the cat is empty or you have a downpipe 😆
@@FeZerret 🤡🤡
Looks more like a cat that a dpf
Pretty sure it’s DPF, the cat is in the downpipe of the E60 diesel models 👍🏼 Does cat and DPF look the same on the inside?
@@FahreFilms dpf usually have sensors plugged into them. And once you've gutted a dpf without a map will cause huge problems as it will try to regen but has no guts in it. Where as gutting a cat doesn't cause any issues .
@@FahreFilms on Pre lci e60s the DPF are in the middle! In LCI the CAT and DPF is in the same muffler in downpipe! CAT comes always first and DPF is second in all cars! And yes the CAT looks pretty same as DPF, i suggest u remove the cat also for a little better sounding m57
@@LONELYcheeseBOXconsidering you seem to know something about these, would you say in that case that a 2005 pre lci e60 525d m57n would have the dpf in the middle of exhaust and not up with manifold. Thanks..
@@M57connoissuer yes! The pre lci dpf is in the center of the car bro😁
Still not good this thing needs straight pipes
It’s good, but could always be better 👍🏼😂
Do you feel bether power,? and you must dpf off in Computer engin?
u need remap and downpipe then u easily over 250hp and more fun to drift ;)
At least on e39 petrol models, that plate is meant to help support the exhaust so it wouldn't sag that much
You sure? Letting the exhaust rest on that plate creates alot of vibrations in the car so I don’t think that’s the idea 🤷🏼♂️
@@FahreFilms on e39 there is some sort of rubber pushing of some sortbetween exhaust and that plate, that helps reduce vibration
that's a catalytic converter, my friend. The dpf has tubes and sensors and what not for regenerating
It's not.. it's the DPF
@@GeorgeAusters if that's a DPF how does it regenerate when it fills up with soot ???
Not all cars use a dpf fluid, some add extra fuel so the exhaust gasses are hotter so it burns the carbon away @ThaZapalka
This is also the secondary dpf, the downpipe has the first part of the dpf and the cat
@@Theswedesteed Yes, and that added extra fuel ends up in the oil sump if the dpf regeneration is interrupted due to lack of proper conditions(like temperature). When that's the case there should be an additional marking on the oil dipstick to tell you to change the oil because it's diluted with diesel fuel. With that said I haven't seen the dipstick of an M57 post 2005(when DPFs get obligatory equipment for all diesel engine cars) so I'm still not convinced this is a secondary DPF 😂 + it's so far away from the turbo I can't imagine it maintaining the needed temperate for burning the soot...
thank you for your nice video, but I am wondering that after you remove the DPF you did have any soot particule like BLACK fog during you drive the car, so what is the benefit to sell this thing in the market? which kind of diesel do you TANK MAN!!! ?
That stuff that you removed from tge inside of the cat its worth a good money
Is it worth money when it’s cut in pieces? 😅😂😂 Maybe I can sell the bag with all the small pieces 🤷🏼♂️🙌🏼🙃
@@FahreFilms Yes u can sell that
Next video chased by the police without dpf!! 🎉😂
This looks like catalytic converter not DPF.
It's a dpf you can see inside it
Catalytic converter on a diesel?😂
@@KenanRaptor Yes, cat on diesel cars.
@@KenanRaptor dpf is behind the turbo that is cat
Cats sit after your manifold not halfway through your setup
Good vid but without a DPF you will most likely fail the technical inspection. In some countries you can still pass if they don’t see that it’s empety but in a few years there will be machines that will be able to tell. And you have to program the car othervise it will go into service mode
doubt hes gonna keep this car for a few years lol
Thanks, I don’t think there will be any issue with M.O.T. Still have the catalytic converter in the downpipe and this 2004 model cars does not have super stricts rules on emmissions. Know plenty of people who have passed M.O.T with no DPF on a BMW diesel 👍🏼
@@georgepoulos1592 hahaha, that’s also a very good point 👌🏼
Cars actually pollutes less with a DPF delete but it HUGELLY depends on the car's overall state. A healthy diesel engine with a DPF delete do not pollute more, it is barely noticeable. How do I know? Hehe
My formed 530d is gutted out but box still there with engine light on and no issues haha how? 😂
Take swirl flaps and egr off and u will have good sound
and it doesn't smoke when you chose dpf and didn't adjust it through the software?
Bro why u turbo sound like that its that good?
lol i watch u since u crashed ur e36
Cool, long time ago 🙃
Your dpf was cracked already.
You know he's a good mechanic, if there is still blood on the tools left 😀
I don't approve
What’s next step then? What can make this car approved ?
You just get louder tractor souns... been there, did that and saw it... but at least engine wont suffer anymore... do 2260 turbo from 218hp 530d and remap that beast to 280hp
🤣Crazy Fool haha
Nxt = Stage 2 w/hardcut :D
If you came to haugesund i can do it for free ( you only pay for file ) xD
Det er DPF i originale downpipen også.
did you get a check engine light after unpacking? because I want to take it out, I'm just afraid that it will give an engine control light.
i am going to do it on my car tomorrow, I think because the sensor is in front of the dpf it should not be a problem.
This is so sad. That thing is about the same volume as a stock car all that work for this smh. It’s rough out here
And
Its a little lauder
Yeah, still not super loud 🙃
Are these combustion cars allowed yet in Norway? Rest of Europe is complaining about gas cars and often Norway is considered as a super ecological country regarding cars 😂 I hope these absolute no sense rules with prohibiting combustion cars won't take place as expected in 2035. I love that example with Norway who has already like half of electric cars and Germany loves it but forgot to mention that they're likely sold after 5-7 years at the most xD
Will that not fail the emissions test
That's a main or secondary cat, no sensors and fuel supply going to it to ignite and burn off the soot.
Try to translate this with Google
Don't forget to switch off the dpf out of ecu because ur engine dead bro.
Sound like mi m51 with all off the boxes
Need to delete dpf from the ecu, and flash stage 1👍 You cant just remove dpf without coding.
Yes you can on pre lci.

Please remap that car! Its so huge difference and it also would sound much more with more fuel
Car is actually faster already with just this mod, but why is remap so much difference ? ☺️
@@FahreFilms i have big experience in those m57 engines! In 525d manual you can get about 260hp with stock turbo whitch is such an impressiv difference in power from stock! The exhaust sound changes to 80% more aggresiv and deeper

Do you not have to get this remapped so the car knows not to go into limp mode? I have 525d e60 and want to do this but not if i have to have it remapped as ive already had a remapped
mine did not go into limp mode :)
Isn't it illegal in Norway ro remove a dpf from your car? im just curious :D anyway nice vid as always!
Yes it is, so he have to buy another. And theese are expensive. So PLEASE DONT DO THIS!!
@@nielssen21 But in the inspection, they cant proof if the dpf is empty or full? By sound ya maybe.
In the UK it is illegal too... If you decide to remove the DFP, or the cat the car will fail the next MOT test straight away, and the chances that police will pull over you, are extremaly high... Seriously, if u really want to make your car louder, just buy the Back box delete exhaust and that's it.. Your car will be louder, but still fully legal on the roads, and the car will pass its MOT without any problems (You probably gonna get the "Warning" that the exhaust is loud and that's it..)
@@nibux1907 They'll do an emissions test and there's no chance to pass it without a DPF
I think its illegal in all of Europe but its not really like they can check it on the road its more that u might not pass emissions test but u wont get ticket or anything
This is not a Dpf, you removed the catalytic converter, if your engine has a dpf it will be just after the turbo, dpf has to have pipes for the differential pressure sensor, and also a temp sensor in it, this is just a cat
This is a early model DPF :) E60 is a bit wierd, but the catalytic converter is in the downpipe and this the DPF :)
Congrats, your E60 is non euro now
My friend has 2006 530d dpf gutted out inside has engine light but no issues with car haha how? Runs perfect still
He needs to have it remapped now, it’s always a must after having the dpf removed
Nice videos but i do not think it’s cool to delete stuff like that. It your daily car mate. Keep it in order and legal. Just my opinion. But of course, our car. Do what ever you want 👍
If you want more louder, you need to remove the cat's as well :)))
I'm here bro
🙌🏼🙌🏼
Hi, I have a question, should I deactivate the dpf with a diagnose computer? Otherwise will it go into limp mode when starts?
You should do that yes :) Mine did not go into limp mode, but you should do it !
maybe try a lip spoiler?
Would be cool !
What you removed was the catalytic converter and you could have sold the ceramic bits inside it. The dpf is located in the upper first part of the exhaust system.
no is not, that was the dpf the cat is upper
@@mihai._.claudiu6131you have no idea men...
Cut dpf empy it and weld it back together
The car have gained like 6 or 7 hp and little bit louder do i think
Hvorfor burde man fjerne DFP i hjernen egentlig?
Do the same process on the cat. It will be much better.
i keep mine on because the smell is horrendous
Not worth the trouble if youre just going to leave it like that
Oh dear 🤦🏻♂
😂😂dude u could have sold the dpf for 700$!!! the car doesn´t have any other silencer?¿
The cat is in the downpipe still, yeah I know, I forgot about it 😂😂
and it illegal in most countries in Denmark you will lose your car if you do this and get caught
Remove the kats and then it is way louder
first
🔥🔥💪🏼💪🏼
isnt that just a catalytic converter?!?

Straight pipe with 3in minimum from turbo to end.. and pop corn rev meter tune
@apteka I am not sure why people would laugh, I am a diesel head (Rolling Coal person) and I have seen TDI builds that have pushed 300+ bhp in a 2.0 TDI as well as a many other builds... A petrol and a diesel engine are different but it's a different feeling, as you have seen/noticed all he has left to do is change the downpipe in the above build... And a remap to accompany the above mods would make the engine more efficient...
Correct me if I am wrong on the input from your end.
@apteka
Usually all the pipes that come on a performance/potential performance vehicle or let's say any engine above 1l in both cases petrol or diesel vehicle are 2.5" approx and in some cases 3". I didn't ask him to change the huge dynamics of the pipe.
Straight pipe diesel doesn't make loud noise rather it's a grunt noise, and in cases of petrol vehicles it's loud like ear screaming loud but not in the case of a diesel engine.
Pops and Bangs are for petrol vehicles, and i suppose you might have mistaken my comment on the popcorn rev limiter for Pops and Bangs.
Childish maybe, but once you remove or alter the exhaust of the vehicle it's always better to do a tune as it would help the engine better. And at that point all I suggested was to have a Popcorn limiter tune as the respected person was planning to increase his diesel engine exhaust sound.
And I am saying it based on my experience with a 1.5 TDI engine that I had owned and had done a small turbo upgrade and a stage 3 setup.
Diesel doesn't make loud noise as much as compared to any petrol engine.
I think the plate you removed is made to make the car more aerodynamic.
Is it?
A tiny bit, and it does stiffen uo the chassi. But all this is barely noticeable (not noticeable),
@@FahreFilmsThe plate are made to support the exhaust, nothing else
It's a catalytic converter, the DPF is next to the engine.
Finally someone who saw that's actually the catalytic converter
It's literally the dpf
in my opinion a hardcut limiter + stage 1 would suit the car perfectly
Dpf is located after the turbo, trust me
You don't know what are you talking about 😊
