  • This is a time lapse of the construction of our new Cleary pole barn. Rain really hampered their progress for the first couple weeks, but it dried out for the latter half of construction. They spent 16 days (or partial days) actually working on the building, spread out over 4 weeks thanks to the rain.
The images were shot with a 16MP Xiaomi Yi action camera (a GoPro knock off), rotated and cropped with Digikam, and compiled into a video using OpenShot.
This video depicts only the construction of the outer shell. I've continued to shoot time lapse images for the interior finish work, but I'll post that in a separate video, since this one is already almost 10 minutes long.
Music is "New Dawn" from www.bensound.com.

Wish they done this where we could step by step.

I'm starting my pole barn building saga. I like the way that looks. Any dimensions or plans? Any direction to start looking for plans?

Good video. How much did it cost?

Mark Love For what you saw here, Cleary charged me just under $50K. Obviously, this building is a little more complex than your standard 40x60' pole barn.

Try a three piece raised center bay configuration, that is a better challenge, this resembles a polynesian style roof (concave duo-pitch, opposite of convex or gambrel like) without the side trusses. I assume the posts were buried in the ground with no other protection than preservative treatment, if so best of luck repairing those footers down the road when rot or other deterioration starts to appear.
BTW the max standard video time limit is 15 and can be longer with approval or verification, max video size for live or recorded is 12 hours or 126 GB, which ever comes first,, and many like to watch the entire 'progress' instead of time lapse, and everyone pretty much 'despises' slide shows.
Nice build, good that you went with an engineered package instead of some just thrown together kit, enjoy your new shed/storage/garage/...lets just call it a versatile building.
