    Ive been waiting for three years to do one like this at my place, not nearly as big, shooting for 40x50 with 14ft ceilings. We’ve had two more kids and Ive changed jobs once so timing has been off but thanks for posting this, watching these keeps the motivation going for me to do the 12+ hour days that are going to fund it. 👍🏻

      Go 16 on the walls if you can. If you plan to do a second floor, you will only have 6 foot ceilings. My neighbor went 14 feet on the walls and he only has 6 foot ceilings on the second floor office. It feels very cramped.

    • @draculaS2k

      Just doing a 1 floor. The reason why I went with a 14 foot. Is so I can install a car lift & be able to drive my Freightliner Cascadia into it. While I'm on my home time. The garage will be big enough for six cars maybe more 😉... then the rest will be living space

    My dad had Mennonites do his barn 48x56x16 ft ceilings. 5 days and the only time they used a ladder was the 2nd day when they were done with the roof and the last sheet the put on. And they notched all the columns for the header boards for the rafters so wasn't depending on just the screws(anchor bolts) tinned inside and 2 doors 10x12and 12x14. Amazing job the did. Nice video

    Did you consider steel construction, and if so, what were the advantages of going to pole wood construction?

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  3 года назад

      As I understand, steel framed structures require perimeter footers and a slab. I wanted to do a heated slab and the cost of that alone, for the size of this building, it would of cost as much as the building itself. There are cost, expansion and aesthetic reasons that played a part in this type of building as well but it was mostly order of construction.

      Yeah, it was pricey but necessary. The location of the building was originally virgin forest. It needed a 600 foot road built to access the build site. After that, building pad needed to be cleared and prepared. In the future, the building will be converted to "commercial use" and I had to have the frame engineered and designed for that use at the time of construction.

The biggest problem I’ve seen is when you set it on concrete and then also pour it in concrete it traps the water.
