I loved your first floss tube. You did a great job!! I have wanted to step out on that ledge and share my love of this amazing craft and having watched your channel, I am just about ready to jump into the fabulous floss tube pool😊. Keep up the great job. You stitch beautiful patterns. Can’t wait for your next episode.
Truth be told, I hadn't even realized that I had posted the video, as I was still trying to figure out editing (and getting cold feet). Talk about jumping into the deep end...lol. I've been overwhelmed by the kindness and support shown through this community. Hope you make your channel, it's worth pushing through the nerves that come with it the decision.
Wonderful job. I am watching you from Ontario, Canada. I came back to cross stitch in 2021 after 30 years and found that the internet and flosstube had changed the cross stitch world.
Welcome back to cross stitching! I love that, at least to me, cross stitch is such an easy craft to return to, but also allows for challenging projects, if so desired. Thanks for watching!
Welcome to flosstube! That precious moment piece is so sweet! I remember that picture from a colouring book I had as a kid!🥰 I really like your He is Risen piece, and I have been tempted by that frosted pumpkin one for many years!😂 Thanks for taking the leap and sharing with us! 😊🪡
Thanks for watching! It was a scary leap but it has been fun so far. Every year I say I'll have He is Risen done in time to display for Easter. Maybe 2024 will be the year.
Welcome! You did a good job on your first video! I am from Lancaster County (Ephrata) and live in slower, lower Delaware now! If you ever come to Ocean City you must go to Berlin, Md. to Salty Yarns. It used to be on the boardwalk but recently moved. Berlin is a little town close to Ocean City. It's well worth the trip! I am 74 and have been stitching for 40 years! I go through spells where I don't stitch at all. I really need to, I won't live long enough to do all the patterns I have! Your stitching is very nice, look forward to you next video!
Thanks for watching! I just posted another video and spoke about how I found some shops in the Lancaster area. Growing up I had no idea such places existed.
Welcome from Virginia! I loved watching your 1st flosstube! I'll be anxiously waiting to see your next. I appreciate that you focused on cross stitch and I like what you are working on. I'm 70 and found my way back to cross stitching once I discovered flosstube in 2020. Treasure your Grandmothers magazines, Cross Stitch and Country Crafts. I have every one of them and still have several things I want to stitch from them. They are still sought after as many designs are timeless. I wish I was as courageous as you to have a flosstube of my own. You are documenting for you but also for your girls and the next generation! Best of luck!
Yes, they are wonderful magazines and so many lovely projects to stitch. I did complete a Christmas tree design from the magazine. I'll have to pull it out so you can see. Thanks for watching!
Hello new friend, Welcome to Flosstube! You did a great job for your first video. It was fun to stitch "with" you and see what you are working on. I am Sew Grateful to have found you. I look forward to your next installment. Happy Stitching! Your new friend, Daleen
Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement! Truth be told, I didn't even realize that it had been posted. Still trying to figure out how all of this works, technology wise.
Hi Laura! Your floss tube popped up on my page today, and I knew it was one for me! I, too, LOVE sweet tea and stitching ♡ I'm happy you stepped out and made your first flosstube; you inspire me. I stitch on evenweaves and Aida, and I'm also trying new fabrics and floss. I live in western NC and love the Outer Banks. The Currituck lighthouse is one of my favorites! I stitched several Precious Moments for my daughter in the early 90s and still love them today as they remind me of her in her younger days. She's now 35, and I'm hoping she'll want to learn to stitch someday. I, too, learned from my grandmother, and I feel her presence when I have hoop in hand. I look forward to your next video and wish you much success. Until then, enjoy your sweet tea and stitching!
Precious moments are such sweet designs. I actually have the pattern that my grandmother used for the project with her writing on it, which makes it even more special to me. I love how many different techniques and different style of patterns I have watched here on FlossTube. Thanks for watching!
Congrats on your first RUclips! You did great. When I first started, I wouldn't even show my face. :) I'm a sweet tea addict also. I call it my drug of choice. :)
Welcome. Great first flosstube ….I’m from Pa as well, born/raised in Susquehanna Co, now living near Hershey. Where are you located exactly? I am so glad you started this … I was so excited that we share so much with cross stitching. I have not connected with anyone locally who shares the same excitement. And like you, I started watching flosstubes and now they are my entertainment of choice. My mind is blown at all the options available…. I really thought it was a dying art. AC Moore closed and shops were limited around me. I’ve been doing a lot of Etsy and online stash building. I still am looking for an LNS. I think there is one in Lancaster, not sure yet. I look forward to your next video … happy stitching!
Yes, there is one in Lancaster, Stitches Unlimited not far from Rt 30. There is also one in Strasberg, Hodge Podge. I went on a cross stitch road trip a couple of years ago. I felt like I landed in the city of Oz to see the finished designs in person was quite an experience.
Very good video, your stitching is very good. I don't think anyone enjoys back-stitching, especially on Aida. I have found that if you don't look at the squares and treat the back-stitches as embroidery it is easier and goes faster. I only use Linda, Lugana, or Monoco even-weave fabrics. Keep stitching.
Hello from the Chicago area! Your first floss tube was wonderful. Your stitching is beautiful. I’m looking forward to seeing the little chocolate girl when it’s finished. Thank you for making your first video! 🥰
Welcome to RUclips! I used to do lots of precious moments projects. I also have a daughter who is a red head and in her second year at the university in SD. Cool projects - wips! Can’t wait to see more! Tysm for sharing! PS we all love stories behind the projects too!
Love all your stitching it’s all beautiful, I especially love your Holy Night such a pretty pattern. I’m a great fan of even weave too and I usually use 28 count. Thanks for sharing! You’re off to a great start.
I love your intention - what a great start. Flosstube is a fabulous way to keep track of what you're doing and keep you motivated. It helps that there is a whole world of stitchy friends there who are stitching with you!
The comfort zone is a lovely place to be but then I wouldn't have had the experience to connect with all of you. This far exceeded my expectations. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing your stitching and keeping me company while I have my morning coffee! Nice job! I’m looking forward to seeing your next video and the progress you’re making. Best to you and yours!
Thanks for watching! I'm grateful for family showing me how to make this beautiful craft work and for designers and other stitchers continuing (and updating) the tradition.
Hello from East Central Illinois! You did a wonderful job. I am slowly getting into cross stitch again, but have done it off and on for many years. Looking forward to your next Flosstube!
Just subscribed. Altho I must admit I thought you were a southern stitcher by your channel name.:) Looking forward to following along as you share your stitching.
I'm a southern stitcher once removed :) My grandmother (who stitched the Precious Moments) was from Oklahoma and my dad was born and lived there for about 10 years before my grandfather's job transferred him to NJ. Dad always got brewed tea with extra ice. Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on joining Flosstube! Fantastic job! I love the little girl pattern…I did one for each of my 3 daughters many years ago. Thanks for sharing!
Congratulations on first floss tube really enjoyed watching. I’m from Louisiana. We’re you talking about cross country stitching magazines, I have them and for years that’s all I stitch from now am all over the place lol
Great to see a new flosstuber, you did a wonderful job on your video. I noted your comment on backstitching. Yep, it can be a real pain, but it adds so much to your finished piece. What you might consider is to do some of it as you are going along, and not to wait until the whole piece is finished. I find I am motivated to keep going as I see small parts completely finished. I subscribed, will be watching for video #2.
I completely agree with your backstitching advice. I try to back stitch as I go, as it gives me some small bit of accomplishment that I have a fully finished a section of the project. Other projects that I've done backstitching on, it has been tedious but this one made me want to pull my hair out...lol.. Thanks for watching and appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment!
Thank you for watching! I was drawn to that pattern because of the letters "A'lleluia, "B"ehold, etc. Now that I think about it, that's why I liked the Lizzie Kate pattern too, lol.
Hi Laura, Im a fellow Pennsylvania Flosstuber from west of Reading towards Lancaster County. I grew up in the Oley area if thats familiar. Im just embracing lugana myself...linen gets me into trouble. Lol
I was there a couple of months ago. I actually found them in the Cross Stitch and Country Crafts magazine and was pleasantly surprised they were still in operation. I purchased the fabric for the Mr & Mrs project because I wanted to be able to see the color in person. It was such a lovely shop. I wish I had mentioned that but nerves got the better of me. Next time I'll be sure to mentioned that I have found some cross stitch shops in about a one hour radius. Thanks for watching and sharing!
