Have fun moving and purging. It’s sounds so nice. I just started cross stitching after raising my 6 kids. Now I have a bunch of grand kids. We downsized 8 years ago. Only moved 6 miles from our big house we raised our kids on. I love making project bags now. I’m a quilter too.

I hope you take an extra suitcase, because there is so much stitchy goodness and everyone is so kind. Jean and her staff are magnificent and so welcoming. I hadn't opened the outer box yet as I was saving it to open on December first as I wanted to be surprised to see what the decorative box looked like. For future reference, a heads up to "look away if you don't want to see" might be helpful.

Congratulations on your upcoming move!! When we moved 10 years ago, we went from a 5-bedroom 2500sq ft house to a 2-bedroom 1050sq ft house. It was a tough move - I had a HUGE kitchen with lots of space & now have a much smaller EVERYTHING!! BUT, family lives next door & I'm available to help with all medical needs (I'm a retired RN). Living closer to Graham's family will be a Blessing for everyone!!
This sounds like my story my husband and I are moving to a smaller house! Yes a lot of purging, I run every other day to goodwill so they are happy but I tell you it’s freeing!! Good luck and try to enjoy 😊it

I'm actually moving at the same time and will be close to my daughter too for the first time since she left home for college in 1990! Sorting through your stuff and determining what to keep, donate, or toss is no fun, but the idea of being so close makes it all worth it.

Congratulations on your new home. How exciting! When I retired in 2015, I was 63. I was sharing a house with my daughter and SIL so we could rent a house. We lived in Los Angeles County in an area that was so hot in the summer. I had grown up in a beach area and swore that when I retired I would move back to the coast. In 2016 I bought a manufactured home at the beach in Orange County, CA. I upsized because I wanted space and I wanted a craft room. I love it here and have never looked back. Purging was something else but I got rid of a lot of stuff I just didn’t need. My purging days are over, thankfully. It was a lot of work but so worth it. I love it here and I love my house. I truly wish the same experience for you and your husband. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas.

When our 1st house was built the decision for flooring +++ was mostly made by Me. It's not easy, but it was Fun!!! Wow, you'll be super busy packing!! Best Wishes. Happy Thanksgiving!! *Buy all the moving boxes you can Now, and you might want to ask your grocery store for the banana boxes or apple boxes, as they have built-in handles ;) Our last move I labeled all the boxes with different color Sharpie markers, so after a while we didn't have to even read Kitchen, Master Bedroom, Bathroom, Garage ... we could tell by the color it was written in :) GL

Holly, we “downsized” to a ranch 2 years ago but it really didn’t end up being that. We had lived in our house 30 years so lots of family memories and tough on our adult kids. We knew we had to move forward and concentrate on new memories and adventures. Honestly, best thing we have ever done. Our adult kids and grandkids love it and we know it was for the best.

Congratulations on your move!! My husband and I decided to get a ranch with a basement when we decided to buy for the first time. We only have 1 child anyway. And I love it! We can probably stay here for the rest of our lives. It's not too big, not too small and I absolutely love the laundry in the kitchen. At first I was kind of put off, but I'm just saying, it is amazing!! The basement sure makes the difference as well!
I always enjoy your videos. I think your video was blurry in areas because it looks like your camera captured that quilt in the background as the main focus (not you) and everything else was blurred. 😊

Holly, we “downsized” to a ranch 2 years ago but it really didn’t end up being that. We had lived in our house 30 years so lots of family memories and tough on our adult kids. We knew we had to move forward and concentrate on new memories and adventures. Honestly, best thing we have ever done. Our adult kids and grandkids love it and we know it was for the best.

Congratulations on your move!! My husband and I decided to get a ranch with a basement when we decided to buy for the first time. We only have 1 child anyway. And I love it! We can probably stay here for the rest of our lives. It's not too big, not too small and I absolutely love the laundry in the kitchen. At first I was kind of put off, but I'm just saying, it is amazing!! The basement sure makes the difference as well!

I always enjoy your videos. I think your video was blurry in areas because it looks like your camera captured that quilt in the background as the main focus (not you) and everything else was blurred. 😊
