Oh, the wedding peice is gorgeous. Have seen that one and wanted to stitch it, and my last name is Carter so seeing it just makes me want to stitch it all the more.😃❤
It was a pretty easy stitch. I enjoyed stitching with a single color.
Love seeing your projects. Love that Christmas Tree and great job with the framing. ❤😀
Thank you for the kind compliment!
Enjoyed your flosstube. Have been stitching for years, and have no definite means of organizing my floss. Tried the bobbins years ago, but stopped. I am getting some ideas and planning to get to work on that. Keeping stitching and have fun with it.😃❤
I'm not sure how I would have organized had it not been for receiving my grandmother's boxes There's so many choices, I may have been stuck in Indecision Land 🙂
Thanks for a great video. I also appreciate shorter videos, if I am sneezing in some stitching time, I know I have to go adult when the video is over.
Thanks for watching!
Oh, Teresa Wentzler's designs are beautiful! Great stash - Loved your video!
Thanks!
No worries, everybody is weird!
Thanks for showing the bookmarks. I have the urge to read this summer and I think I’ll cross stitch a bookmark!!
Happy reading and happy stitching!
Hi, Great video, I have half of my thread on bobbins and the other half loose, I need to get another bobbin box.
Thanks Val! I'm bad at winding the thread straightaway. Usually when I get on a kick to make sure my floss is organized, I'll wind it up.
I did that cross stitch and country craft sand dune/sea shell picture back when the magazine came out. That is still my most favorite picture that I have stitched and still have it hanging on my wall. ❤ I’ve also just finished stitching the tiny modernist beach pictures.
Knowing that it is well loved is giving me a strong itch to stitch it. 🙂.
That's how I store my floss too! Bobbin sisters 😂
Bobbin users unite! 🙂
💜☮️
I loved the book of carousel horses. I’m like you, every time I see a carousel I want to ride on it! The one at Disney World is my absolute favorite. Those patterns are gorgeous, hope you’ll stitch one soon!
It's inspiration to finish some other projects so I can started in some new ones. I can't handle too many projects at one time. Makes my head spin. I'm in awe of those who can manage more than 5 projects.
I have 5 of those bobbin boxes!! Has worked for 40 years. 😊
Glad I'm not alone appreciating the value of the bobbin box. 🙂
I keep my floss the same way on bobbins in those plastic boxes. I also organized my spices alphabetically ! I use a ring when I’m stitching a project. Enjoyed your floss tube!!!
Glad I'm learning I'm not the only one 🙂 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
I have been storing my floss the same exact way since I was 14 yrs old. I am now almost 58 😂😂😂. it has worked fine for me for years. i like your analogy it’s like opening a box of crayons 😂😂😂.
Love your comment "it has worked fine for me for years"! Thanks for watching!
Hi Laura! I'm old school as well. I have my DMC on cardboard bobbins in those plastic containers....actually I have one likes yours for hubby's Christmas stocking. I have the bigger one for every day use. I had bought the plastic bobbins but the stickers don't want to stay on permanently. So I'm transferring those back to cardboard as I use them. Good luck with the backstitching! Have a great week!
I have heard that the the stickers fall off the plastic. And I was worried if I used permanent marker it might also wear off. Other viewers have been mentioning that they use a project box...I might have to give that a shot sometime. Thanks for watching!
Nothing wrong with having boxes to store your floss - I have 7 boxes….never thought about how to store floss in projects… I usually just toss them in the bag or I use a floss ring
Glad to know I'm not alone with using floss boxes. Appreciate you leaving a comment!
Welcome to flosstube, I just found your video and will have to go back and watch the others. I LOVE shorter videos, and also speed them up when people talk slow. So many videos I want to watch and not enough time. You made me laugh because I too use an umbrella in the sun - why would anyone not? I also organize my spices alphabetically - again who would not do that? Lol, you and I are the same with floss inventory - I'm old school too. Good old pencil and paper, I have a dmc checklist as well. Anyway, I enjoyed your video and good luck with the back stitching. The pattern is beautiful and I think it is definitely worth persevering through. Try committing to doing just 1 length of floss for backstitching each time you stitch. Maybe knowing you can put it down after 1 length will make you pick it up more often and see progress sooner. It really is adorable - good luck. Kim
Great idea about limiting myself to one length of floss! Thank you for your sweet comments...so glad to know that I'm not alone in certain traits.🙂
I am old school too - I mainly have DMC and it is all on bobbins. I would get tired of trying to untangle the floss all the time on the floss rings. They are pretty but would not be a good fit with me. French Chocolate will be so cute once you get her finished. Take the backstitching in stages and maybe then it won’t seem so overwhelming.
Thank you so much for the encouragement on French Chocolate! I should set a time limit for myself so I don't frustrated enough to stop stitching all together. Can't wait for the project to be finished
I use Floss Boxes as well to keep all of my DMC Threads in. I have the full set of DMC and it takes 8 Floss Boxes. For my Fancy Floss - For GAST - I have them on a big Ring hanging on the back of my Chair in my Craft Room. For my Projects - Floss Boxes - Small and the big ones. I keep one with each project that I am working on or have Kitted up. Love your WIPS I love Ice Tea as well with Ice in it. Take Care & Happy Stitching ❤️🤗🧵
Wow...I didn't realize a full set would be 8 boxes! Thanks for the idea of how you store your fancy floss. 🙂
I have my floss in boxes like yours and have no intention of changing. I do have fancy floss on rings. I too have things in numerical order or alphabetical. Go with what works for you.
I'm learning that as I grow- to be more confident in what works for me. Appreciate the comment, thanks for watching! 🙂
The french chocolate girl looks great!!! So sweet! I like floss boxes too 😊 I use floss boxes for projects too. I happen to have old mini floss boxes (my mom keot them from my childhood bracelet days, lol!) that work for smaller projects. I also stocked up on larger boxes when I found them for $3! I put my cut floss on the hole on the end of the bobbin. I can easily pull out a single thread the way I see some do with floss drops. Then I just wrap the it across the normal way.... the normal way being around north to south, so I wrap the cut floss east to west. Hope that makes sense, lol. I do wish my bobbins had one more hole for the smaller bits of thread....but I just wrap them around loosely the normal way. Or when I have room in my project floss box - I use one square for the colors that have extra bits of thread. But I am newer sticher and really still just figuring things out. Thanks for the fun video and sharing your wips & storage system! Blessings!
Thanks so much for watching! So glad to know that others are using the floss boxes...love 'em ❤️
I love your short videos, they are perfect for getting a little stitching in before work. Your wedding gift is beautiful. I would've done it the same but I agree breads would make it pop. You can have your kids play the license plate game. Print off a map and every state they see a license plate for they get to color in. Can't wait to watch more of your videos. 😊
Thank you for the kind compliment! I agree, that's a great car ride game.
Good ideas about checking the library for craft resources! I've been getting some great cross-stitch and quilting haul at my favorite thrift store recently!
Congratulations on your recent thrifty treasures!
Ruth here, l lay out DMC if it mentions it to help sort the floss, do it close to a window on a light or white sheet it helps, l put them in bags or mushroom trays ya buy mushrooms in, a couple colors in a tray that is different in color then if numbers, stack em by number or develop a system,
Appreciate the floss tip! Thanks so much!
Great haul at your thrift shop …. I do keep looking but haven’t seen anything yet! I like the idea of Libby …. I’m going to check it out. Happy stitching!
That's the most important step. Can't find the goodies if we're not looking for them. Good luck!
Hi Laura! The wedding piece is beautiful! I think it's beautiful just the way it is. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I also enjoy the simplicity of the design.
Great haul! Wedding sampler turned out beautiful.
Thank you!
Libby is a lending download for maximum of 21 days. Renewals possible.
My daughter has found roller skating. They had roller blades when they were little but prefers to roller skate now. I am so jealous that you have found so many great bargains at thrift stores. I live in Tucson, AZ close to the border, all the thrift stores get plundered with people sending things across the border to sell which leaves barely anything I am interested in or any good finds. Most stores are like that here. I love the dolphin kit. I can't wait to see what you show us next. Tysm for sharing!❤❤❤
Beautiful finish on the first fo. I would do two things with beads. One use the oblong pearl beads to replace the blooms entirely or keep the blooms and add small pearl rounds on the top of either all of the blooms or scatter them. There are so many colors of beads so white is what I would use. However you can add rose gold or blush or blue depending on the main color of the floss. I see so many variations.
What a wonderful idea! Thanks for sharing your creative thoughts!

The wedding gift you made is lovely. If I would do something like this, I probably would add a few clear beads, here and there on the vines, just to give it a bit of a shimmery look (like diamonds). I do a lot of Mill Hill kits (mostly for fundraisers for my church) and I save the extra beads for embellishing projects that I think could use a few beads to enhance the look of them. But you did a beautiful job, and maybe one day I'll be able to do my own framing too!
Sounds like a beautiful idea! Thanks for leaving a comment
Oh-crah-coke. You didn't do a bad job in the name, very close. I always look at second hand stores for stitching. Great surprises. Beautiful wedding piece.
Much appreciation for the correct pronunciation. 🙂 I picked up some fun treasures a couple of weeks ago, that I hope to show soon.

Thanks for another charming video. I like cottages too, they’re just so cozy, it reminds me of simpler lifestyles. Your wedding sampler came out beautifully and you’re right the design lends itself to many interpretations.
❤️ "reminds me of simpler times" I couldn't have said it better. Thank you!
I’ve made the same wedding pattern last year for our own wedding. Mine has white fabric, black letters and brown metallic flowers in the bow. And I’ve changed the year into our wedding date.
That sounds beautiful! Metallic- what a great idea. Thanks! And congrats on your wedding!

Welcome to flosstube! That precious moment piece is so sweet! I remember that picture from a colouring book I had as a kid!🥰 I really like your He is Risen piece, and I have been tempted by that frosted pumpkin one for many years!😂 Thanks for taking the leap and sharing with us! 😊🪡
Thanks for watching! It was a scary leap but it has been fun so far. Every year I say I'll have He is Risen done in time to display for Easter. Maybe 2024 will be the year.
Another great video loved the flamingo 🦩 designs for your daughter. The Christmas tree 🎄 is gorgeous. 🪡👍🏻
Thank you for the kind compliment! Glad you enjoyed the finishes 🙂
Congratulations on your first Flosstube. Mouse Potato Designs gave you a shout out.
How kind of Mouse Potato Designs! Thanks for letting me know and for watching!
Welcome to Flosstube! Well done!
Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment!
Hi Laura! The Crafting Queen is cute! The Christmas tree is beautiful! Ooooooh Strasburg! My husband loves trains. He is in the process of building his tracks, etc to use his old trains from when he was a kid. Maybe we can do a 2-fer....he gets to see trains and I get to see cross stitch :). Have a great day!
Oh yes, you definitely should! There's even a toy train museum. Thanks for watching!
Hey Laura, I didn't realize you are in PA. I'm in Shippensburg. Maybe we can get together some time or meet up at Stitches Unlimited. Great videos!
Who knows, maybe someday we can arrange something . Right now I'm just trying to get my feet wet. I'm so grateful for showing so much interest and support!
@@SweetTeaStitcher You're welcome. Let me know if you ever want to chat.
Hi Laura, Im a fellow Pennsylvania Flosstuber from west of Reading towards Lancaster County. I grew up in the Oley area if thats familiar. Im just embracing lugana myself...linen gets me into trouble. Lol
Glad to hear of another evenweave fan! Thanks for watching!
I was so thrilled to see your Crafting Queen! I have two other kits in that series in my stash which I’ve never started, but seeing how they might look completed gives me motivation (despite my promise to myself I’ll have no new starts this year 😂😂)
Happy I could help enable you..lol. I understand not wanting to have too many projects going at once. Sometimes the temptation of a new start is great. Happy stitching!
Great floss tube 😊
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed it.
Your Christmas tree is GORGEOUS and the framing sets it perfectly. I think you're doing great!
Very kind compliment! Thanks for watching!

Hello again Laura … I’m so glad you came back to do video no 2 and shared your older finishes. You should be so proud of all your great work, the framing and that Christmas tree. Soooo good 👍🏻… thanks for sharing the shop information as well. That is very helpful to me; I’ll have to schedule a road trip as well. Happy Stitching!
So glad you found the information helpful. Happy road tripping!
I love all my fellow Pennsylvanian stitchers uniting behind you! I soo wish i had a local stitch shop too! Great video and great needle work!
Thanks for watching! I just posted another video and spoke about how I found some shops in the Lancaster area. Growing up I had no idea such places existed.
@@SweetTeaStitcher ohh I have friends in Lancaster that we visit occasionally! I may have to make an extra stop!
@@StitchesWithCatHair Fun!!
Very good video, your stitching is very good. I don't think anyone enjoys back-stitching, especially on Aida. I have found that if you don't look at the squares and treat the back-stitches as embroidery it is easier and goes faster. I only use Linda, Lugana, or Monoco even-weave fabrics. Keep stitching.
I also enjoy the Lugana. Thanks for watching!
