Then, her boyfriend asked me for the sugar for his grits. I was out of sugar!! Lucky for me, there was a store across the street from our house. I bought a small bag and rushed back before the grits was cold. And I watch in total disbelief as he put heaping spoonfuls on his grits! So, let him have his grits and sugar. But I don't think that he is going to like it with the cheese, garlic and other stuff in it! Personally, this is the first time that I've ever heard of anyone putting garlic in grits! So, to each his/her own!
