Now this is a tank i do like! Open aquascape, large colonies, great use of species specific areas, natural coral coverage, healthy animals and a wonderful variety of colour and form.
There they are! The little gang of pyramid butterflies! 😍 Loved that you included the sliming on the Dallas acro - shows that corals can be out of the water for a few minutes without being damaged. I absolutely love this whole setup. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I think the Dallas is about 3 months off becoming a huge problem😂 It it falls disaster, and it’s shading other corals. But it looks SO good up on that bommie...
People talk about a dream tank. Putting on sunscreen to walk on a huge spa sized refugium to get to an even bigger socks / skimmer area has got to be on the list for dream sump. Love the shot of the cyphastrea
I love your videos. If I could make a request. PLEASE make a video where you show how you collect your sea water from the ocean. Not many other countries are able to do this. Thanks.
Thanks mate. I was surprised when I realised we’d never actually filmed the maintenance of this tank, so it was definitely a video we were due to do. Cam
What an Awesome Aquarium that is, I love it! :) The entire set up is Awesome! I really enjoyed this video. Maintaining that Awesomely Beautiful Reef Aquarium is such a real joy and pleasure! I wish I was there to work with you, that is the Job I would love to do and dream of! :) Thank you very much for sharing, I greatly appreciate it. Have a nice day.
That’s a lovely tank, think its my favourite out of all the tanks you show. Interesting the Po4 is pretty high but obviously no problems, I guess because it is a well established long term tank.
Love the pillar and butterfly fish. Beautiful sea fan. What foods do you feed the seafan? Seafans and gorgonians are my favorites. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoy your videos. If i lived in Australia your shop would be my one stop shop! 👍🏻
This tank is fed heaps of different plankton foods, however the Marine snow and small zooplankton foods are probably what’s keeping this specimen doing well. Cam
Nice tank and great job! How do you dose the phosphate binder in to the skimmer? How does the tube that you mentioned on a comment work? Cheers from Mexico!
I always thought you were having a joke with me, but then I saw that the subtitles call me Ken! It was way too late to correct you by the time I worked it out😂
Man I really need to find out how to get a piece of that Dallas Acro over here in the US... and hopefully it's not super expensive like this influx of "bouquet" corals that seems to flood every trade show.
hi Cam, what I have been wondering about a long time watching your videos is: how do you manage water temperature of the fresh seawater in your IPCC tanks (getting pumped into and being equal in temperature to that of the DT's)? Especially with the heat of the sun in Eastern Australia?
Hi Martijn, it’s really quite easy. When the IBCs are more than half full they don’t heat up too quickly, so I try to book the big waterchanges for the morning before the heat of the day. Winter is more difficult as I need to heat the water, however I only have a problem when I forget to add the heater over a particularly cold night. Cam
I specifically collect from 2 locations that I’ve never seen Aiptasia at, but we do filter through a 200 micron sediment trap. Many people who collect do not filter at all, and I think both ways are fine. Cam
They’re used to transport seafood. I’m not sure exactly where to source one, but they definitely are great as the kids seal well and they’re foam insulated. Cam
Sweet tank, that sump is awesome. Imnot much of an acro guy but that 1 big colony is bloody epic cam 👌. P.s my Deltec 1000l needs replacing, what's your skimmer suggestion? Tanks is 6ft & 440l, has 16 fish with 4 tangs & I use NOPX to control waste 👌 cheers
Do you gravel vac on all your tanks, or are there instances where you don't need to gravel vac? I've heard two schools of thoughts some will always vac their sand, while some only let sand sifters take care of it.
It be really depends on the depth of the substrate, as shallow substrate can often be left to the clean up crew. I probably gravel vac 95% of tanks I work on. Cam
lanthanum chloride into the skimming chamber, exactly what I've been looking for. Are you dosing some very diluted mixture ? I have been looking at doing this. Basically guarantees the lanthanum will be sucked into the collection cup.
Been doing it on this tank for the last 3 months and it’s certainly given us excellent control over the phosphate level. We haven’t done an ICP test since starting, however I’m hopeful the lanthanum level is acceptable. Cam
I didn’t think I would enjoy fish maintenance videos but they’re quite interesting! Are you using special camera or lens to get your macro shots of the coral? Nice work!
It’s really just a long stick that’s cut the perfect length to hold the hood open. Checkout a video we recently did on Splashback reef, it has a much more elegant design for its hood opening. Cam
Yes😞 Not something I usually like to use but it’s doing the trick. The real test will be the lanthanum level in the next ICP test we do on this tank. Cam
Is is mandatory when we use nsw? I used to have NSW tank it was amazing for 5 months . I did multiple water changes. But once my fish got infected . No UV though.

Another great video Gallery crew!
Thanks David😊
Those colonies are amazing!

That green slimer was crazy! Wonder how quickly that impacts those socks. Love the videos, keep them coming!
It’s a Dallas Acro colony. Very similar to green slimer, but Jake Adams has seen it and says it’s definitely not Green Slimer. Cam
What a beautiful tank. Love the Dallas acro. Pretty cool to see it slime up to protect itself
Everyone in the US compares it to the Green Slimer. If the Slimer produces more slime than this I’d be amazed😉

Thanks Mauricio, that’s really nice to hear😊 Cam
WAHOU, un magnifique aquarium de très bon goût !!!

WOW that dallas has grown so much love seeing updates on this tank :)
It is an absolute monster! Cam
Beautiful
Cameraman or editor upped his or her game, I like 🙃👍
Thanks Daniel, I always try to improve every video. - Adam
wow all that slime is incredable....are there many coral that do the same thing
Another great video 👍
Wow that system is stunning
That’s the nicest tank so far on this channel
Nice tank and great job! How do you dose the phosphate binder in to the skimmer? How does the tube that you mentioned on a comment work? Cheers from Mexico!
That tank is amazing!
Thank you for a nice video! Can you please make one on your water collecting methods?
We’ve been asked a lot lately so we’ll have to prioritise it! Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV collecting water is very uncommon here in the U.S so seen it would be like seen a unicorn, L.O.L I live in NJ by the way.
Cam, what is the phosphate binder you put in the skimmer and does it not affect the bubble production?
Gorgeous tank!
Do a video on how you get the natural seawater from the ocean.
Yep, we just decided today we need to do that ASAP. Cam
Scoop it up in plastic baggies. Or bucket. Either way
@@GalleryAquaticaTV did you end up doing a video on this?
Very educational!
Hi! Great video as always! So your name is Cam not Ken ?? 😀👍

Mike B Jake Adams and unique Corals should have some from us

Superbe a migo 😉👍🏻
Great vid 💯💯
Love to know how much nsw you get through a month lol, watching the sea levels now mate
Between the shop and my clients we go through 10,000 litres per week. This equates to around 10,000 gallons per month. Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV 😳
What do you use to filter the sea water, to prevent problem whit eptasias from the sea.
Nice job.

Love the close up shots of the corals! Camera/Lens did you use to get that close?
Thanks for the great feedback! I use a Canon 5D MkIV with a EF 100mm 2.8L for the macro shots. - Adam
Did you say you do this service every week ON THIS TANK?
Yep, every week. Cam
Is your razor scraper available in the United States?

What was that thing u stuck in the bottom of the skimmer you said phosphate binder. I have never heard of this please explain
It’s a tube that is dosing continuum Phos-Correx into the skimmer. It binds the phosphate so it can be skimmed out. Cam
The maintenance cost for Cam to do that most me ridiculous. Do you come by once a week to clean the glass too, Cam?
Of course, but I always throw in a free chat so the client gets value for money😂
Lol, let’s hope they don’t see the comments, Cam.
Haha😂
Why does Dallas slim so much when you do water change? And thank you for the great video!
It produces slimes when it’s out of water to avoid desiccation. Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV So if you did a slightly smaller WC you could avoid the slime?
Love your vids. Disappointed there was no swimming! :)
Is there anyway to estimate the cost on that? I mean I would think you could easily buy a car with the money put into that tank setup/animals.
I would say the value of this one is 2.5 cars. Cam

This is one of the best looking tanks on your channel but that sump looks like a pain to deal with.
It’s great in that it’s huge and covered, but it is difficult to feed things into such as probes, dosing lines etc. cam
I didn’t think I would enjoy fish maintenance videos but they’re quite interesting! Are you using special camera or lens to get your macro shots of the coral? Nice work!

Gallery Aquatica TV thx. I have a 450 gallon tank and canopy opening is not fun.
So jealous that you have access to seawater. I have a few clients that don't even have R.O. reservoirs. Have to fight tap water!!!
It’s a really strange thought for us to run a Marine tank without access to natural seawater. Comments like this make me realise how lucky we are. Cam
did Cam mention the use of a liquid phosphate binder?
Yes😞 Not something I usually like to use but it’s doing the trick. The real test will be the lanthanum level in the next ICP test we do on this tank. Cam
Do your water changes cause temperature swings?
Occasionally, but we always keep them to a minimum. Cam
Do you use sea water or salt mix
We only use natural seawater, mainly because it’s the cheapest and easiest way for us. Cam
Do you run UV in NSW before adding to kill unwanted stuff ?
No, I’ve never had any problems that I put down to the NSW, but I do run UV in most systems including this one. Cam
Is is mandatory when we use nsw? I used to have NSW tank it was amazing for 5 months . I did multiple water changes. But once my fish got infected . No UV though.
do you ever do micro scrubbing bubbles.
Occasionally. I do it for Dino (see Dino Outbreak) from about 15 videos ago. Cam
