Thank you Alexander for covering these novelties, I think Omega keeps moving in the right direction, their products are improving in every release and we can see it here too, the new dimensions of the watch, the tapering of the bracelet and the new colour variations make these chronos a stand out. Well done Omega.
I don't understand the point of making a watch at 40.5mm diameter and 13mm thickness, suggesting it will be more compact than the Speedmaster Professional, but then giving it a lug to lug width of 49.6mm, which will make it wear like a 42mm or 43mm watch. As a matter of fact, the Speedmaster Professional will suit a medium / small wrist better in spite of its 42mm / 13.6mm thickness due to its 47.5mm lug to lug measurement. Otherwise, the watch is really nice.
@@gz8793 Not really comparing to the vintage one. I would just like all of the proportions to be kept in harmony, so that the watch actually wears like what one would expect.
That’s a good point. I like watches that look big but feel small, but maybe some people enjoy the extra wrist presence in a more subdued size and style. To each their own
Good choice! Bravo! Congratulations! May your Speedmaster always show you happy seconds, minutes and hours... Please share some more thoughts with us after a while...
all I can say is…Well Done. I own only one Omega. It’s a 22 year old Seamaster Chrono. It has never ever once failed me. But this watch has me looking once more. Perhaps 2022 is time for my second Omega. I like the video approach as well. It answered all my questions. Thanks 🙏. The Burgundy is gorgeous. WOW!
As an incurable Rolex fanboy, this is the first ever Omega/ Speedy making it on my list. First blue sunray dial (ever) I like. Very nice bracelet. Will give it a try. As recently, my Rolex AD is no longer satisfied with my high 5 figures annual turnover. Thanks for the sneak preview, Alexander.
You are very welcome! Go and try it asap... I am sure you will love the Speedmaster... Blue would also be my choice... Let me know if you have any questions...
wow... high 5 figures annual turnover and still not enough? I am not sure if I would want to give me hard earned money to such organization and/or the AD.
I have tried this watch on a wrist at my local AD and I was extremely impressed. Even though my wrist is around 6.5 inches, it is very comfortable. Overall watch quality is absolutely outstanding, it is very elegant and feels rather luxurious than sporty. The open case back has one of the best finishes I’ve ever seen. The one with the green dial will most likely be my next watch

I was dreaming the whole presentation with the best RUclipsr host in town ! Alexander your content is TOP NOTCH and now I need a second job to buy one of those Speedies 57.. Those are fantastic !!! T u for such a great video.
Thank you Alexander for this new reveal from Omega, great video as always. Bravo to Omega on putting the new manual wind movement from the Cronoscope line…love it and thank you for adding the new date complication. I really like the sandwich dial…but having a moonwatch would’ve been nice to see a off-white dial variation on these new ‘57s. Lastly, to Omega, anyway of adding quick release spring bars to the bracelet to fully release the true potential of these strap monsters.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Love the red and blue Speedmasters 57. Not a green dial fan but the Professional Speedmaster in Green is really Spectacular. Can't wait for 30 March. 2022 is going to be a great year for watch fans. Thank you Alexander.
@@WatchAdvisor Alexander are you attending the Watch and Wonders show this year? If you do please spend some extra time on Cartier and Grand Seiko. Give some love to Grand Seiko my hermano. Just bought my first Grand Seiko SBGA407. ;)
That green dial with leather bracelet has kind of impression that mixture of heritage and military feeling Great looking watches and looks so contemporary
What an incredibly beautiful watch. 40.5 mm perfect 13 mm thick perfect,my favorite color blue perfect, hand winding moefment perfect, and then the incredible bracelet! I am on the list for a sub but am thinking of buying the omega instead.(unfortunately I can only buy one watch ) Thanks for the video Eric from Belgium
Go and try the Speedmaster (both if you can) on your wrist as soon it is available and then let your heart decide... It won't lie.... buy emotional, not rational...
Thanks guys, turned 40 and I wanted a speedy pro but felt it wore too large and missed the date window. On the list for yachtmaster Rhodium, but this blue 57 might just have changed that. That blue really pops, can’t wait to see and try it in person, looks like it oozes class 👍
Bravo! The blue one would also be my choice… Let me know if you have any questions… we carefully did our color balance so you guys see the real colors… but of course trying it on the wrist is something you should do asap I am sure you’ll like this Speedmaster!
This is an INCREDIBLE release from Omega and may just be my new “exit watch.” If I had one nit to pick it is that I wish it was shorter lug to lug. However when everything else is so good, I will make it work.
Great release from Omega. Love the burgundy version. However, I think a black bezel matching the chapter ring and sub-dial outer rings would have been the icing on the cake.
My favourite Speedmaster so far.. the size is perfect for smaller wrists, the movement is very technically capable and the finishing is superb.. you really can’t fault this new release. Thanks for the preview Alexander
Got the vintage black on bracelet for Christmas from the wife, beautiful watch and very comfortable on the wrist. I do enjoy my speedmaster pro, but having that comfort adjustment in the clasp is perfect for days or times your wrist may swell do to activity or temperature. Not a big fan of pin buckle/tang clasps, so definitely the bracelet for me!
Thank you Alexander, another all encompassing video. What a treat to see all these new 57 Speedmasters, I do have a soft spot for a sandwich dial. I wonder how hard it would be for these movements to jump in half hour increments, with many time zones being 30 minutes offset. The dimensions of the new 57 are perfect.
Thanks for sharing! Featuring half-hours does mean that the minute hand has to move too … this is technically complex to realize… to be precise there is that one and only watch mastering all these zone-times in different time zones and this is the Glashütte Original Senator Cosmopolite
@@WatchAdvisor At first glance I really do like the red version on the matching strap. It looks really sharp and I do miss something red in my collection 😀
They should have given the red the sun ray finish not mat - that blue is very nice as is the green and black. Not sold on the red somehow. Great looking vintage inspired pieces with state of the art mechanics. Bravo Omega. Maybe I’m enjoying the black on bracelet. On the fly adjustment the cherry on the cake.
The blue looks awesome on the bracelet. Not sure if I can pull it off with my 16.5cm wrists though. The lug to lug of almost 50mm will wear huge for me.
@@WatchAdvisor Steel speedy 57 with bracelet and a green dial. Will definitely contact my Omega AD about it. (Always loved when Tag Heuer did it, but their Carrera is too big , too thick. Glad to see Omega made their chrono slimmer.)
There are some excited comments here! I just want to try it before making a judgement. Omega make really good watches though... Thanks for this Alexander.
Watch looks really nice, but I am still dissapointed by the thickness of 12,99mm, knowing it is a handwound chronograph with 50m water resistance. For a similar price, Zenith Chronomaster original offers 12.6mm thickness, automatic chronograph movement, 60 hours of power reserve, and same 50 meters of water resistance. I guess, METAS performance requires that the movement must be thicker than average.
Many thanks for sharing Alexander and Greg for sharing. All these watches are stunning in there own different ways. I've always loved sandwich dials and that one certainly ticks the heritage box with the slight yellow lume. The blue dial version looks very similar to my old pie pan METAS Globemaster (I love that almost teal colour dial) and might be my preference out of the group. That green dial looks good too but I'm not totally sure that it works quite as well as the blue or black for the Speedmaster. Now that red burgundy dial looks fantastic and it looks like a flat non sunburst finish. This maybe the one that I'd choose if I was considering a purchase. A trip to the AD at some point to see all dial variations would be needed if I was in the market. I still prefer my old 1863 Moonwatch but there could be room at some point in the future for a Speedy sibling.
You are very welcome! The best is definitely to discover these dials/straps in different light conditions on the wrist. I am sure your choice then will easily be made...
First of all, I’m so happy you were able to give us this first peek at these new Omega releases. Great job. On a personal note, I find this to be a frustrating release. The re-edition of a ‘57 speedmaster would be the perfect vehicle to add a 38-39mm case to the standard speedy lineup, with heritage, that isn’t some weird interpretation like the speedmaster 38. They even teased this with the $80k version released earlier this year. Unfortunately, Omega gave this watch a bezel diameter and LTL that are LARGER than the Professional. Where is the current speedmaster option for smaller wrists? This definitely isn’t it.
I agree completely, and the comment about it being a modern watch...... Its has patina on it for gods sake, the whole point is that it isn't supposed to be modern
Why not keep the original diameter? The watch world has changed and people are now liking the classic size of watches. There is a reason why Tudor BB58 is such a huge success.
@@WatchAdvisor Sure, one should always try a watch before making a definitive statement. But 49.6mm lug to lug tells me this watch will wear much larger than the stated 40.5mm diameter would suggest. Especially compared to the Speedmaster Professional, which has a lug to lug of 47.2mm.
Beautiful watch, love all the colors. Been on a waiting list for over a year and is getting old having to chase down a watch. This is getting close to be on my short shopping list. Really love it. Great job Omega! 🥳👍🏼
My colleague wears a Seamaster 300 while I wear a Breitling chrono. I was expecting more for the money paid to buy an Omega. I think Coaxial and in-house movement are good reasons to buy it.The rear side is nice.
These are great watches - thanks for the wonderful video presentation. That green dial looks so smart. What a great package on bracelet or strap. Looking forward to getting hands on.
Big fan of the channel. I travel quite a bit and yours is the first video that's mentioned this dual time functionality of the subdial at 3 o' clock. Could you explain how to use it in some detail?
Thanks for your kind feedback! That’s easy… what you do before you travel is to start the chronograph exactly at noon. From now on both, both hour and minute hands are synchronized… when traveling you set your local time on the “big display” and you you continue reading your home time from the “small display”… the only thing you need to know is if it is day or night at home, but I think this is something we know when we travel… Let me know if this was clear, enough…
Thank you for great review. Because of it, I order the old 41.5 model with the blue dail and red chrono hands. I like the bracelet more (the new bracelet looks a lot like my Breguet XXI bracelet, with a” vintage” clash) and the dail ( the old blue is a sunburst effect) from the older model. Perhaps now the older model will get more love from watchfans, because it is out of collection.
Bravo! Congratulation! I am very happy to read this... Once you get your Speedmaster, please share some thoughts with us... May your Omega always show you happy seconds, minutes and hours...
40mm chronograph, rings on small dial, dramatic taper bracelet, brushed and polished links - sounds familiar? no we are not gonna make panda/reverse panda dial to remind ppl about the daytona! Adding all the elements but maintain the speedmaster character. Very strong move omega
A definite move in the right direction from the last generation autos. But for me, I don't think classic '50s proportions can easily be scaled up in size - it results in very long lugs. I'd go for the black on bracelet (which looks great). Some beautiful features here - movement, bracelet, bezel, sandwich dial and a great daily wear piece - but not enough to join the collection or supplant my Speedy Pro!
As an avid watch enthusiast I never understood why folks immediately start complaining and critiquing the proportions of a watch. I don’t like large oversized watches either but to me this strikes a nice balance.
I gave this some wrist time at the weekend - it seems they are pushing the black dial out first to whet the appetite and get the expressions of interest going for the blue and co. I did think that the shiny bezel did overpower the aesthetic look a tad. You get a halo effect against the light which is good and bad in equal part. The micro adjust is just 2mm which is very tiny, you push in and the hook engages with one of two pins. This should have been one of three to give better adjustment. But hey it’s got some give at least. The movement looks nice and the rear crystal doesn’t protrude as it has no rotor to go over. Winding was a bit of a pain with a smallish crown and seemed to hurt my fingers a little bit. The transition from case to bracelet is a little angular and unrefined. The jury is out about the centre link brushing which seems to be reverse of Rolex just for the hell of it. Those links are very thin and almost flimsy. Watch nerds should put this up against the 44mm Racing model to really see how that has rounded end links for a smooth bracelet transition and way thicker links and a much bigger on the fly adjustment. I only saw the black dial which didn’t do it for me. Will check out the blue which seems in demand due to the Clooney ads. The chrono pushers were very crisp and the hands reset to zero very accurately so all good there. No quick set date so you have to tediously advance the hour hand - this seems to have jet setters in mind. Overall a very nicely put together watch but I feel it was s little disappointing in the metal, didn’t get the fizz. Did however enjoy the Racing model but I’m a tall guy and that seemed more at home on my frame. Great photography by the way you captured it well.
Thanks for this interesting feedback with all its details! This is the BEST we can get... direct reflections on own experiences by potential customers... Please share more such thoughts with us if you have the time and opportunity...
@@WatchAdvisor : the black sandwich dial and the green one. Whereas, I’d like to see a green bezel in combi with the green dial as we see it on the golden new release
Beautiful watches, another great release, thankyou watch advisor, if you attach the straps and put a dial on the movement display clear unit you might have a piece unique 😀 👍
@@WatchAdvisor All are extremely exceptional timepieces from a great Legendary brand, very difficult to choose but what My eye catches my heart desires also, the red one caught the eye so that is the one and it will not change. Thankyou for your awesome videos
@@WatchAdvisorIf other manufacturers can make a thinner-case vertical clutch sport chronograph with 100m of water resistance (e.g., JLC Polaris Chronograph, Rolex Daytona, etc.), why can’t Omega?
In general a very nice watch. Perfectly manufactured. Nice colors especially the red one extraordinary. But diameter, lug to lug and hight not in a good relation of dimensions. You need a bigger wrist to wear then the size of the watch seems to be.
Definitely one to go and see in person. The blue and black dial looks beautiful. Not sure how well the red and green will age. Why on earth did Omega obviously think this watch through in such detail and then possibly sabotage it with a 49.6mm lug to lug!?
Excellent review! Enjoy the look of the Speedmaster '57. The exhibition caseback is beautiful. Personally, I wished more of the movement could be exposed like the beautiful exhibition caseback of the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch.
@@WatchAdvisor Hello Alexandre. Thank you for your reply. I have the Moonwatch cal. 3861 which I purchased recently. I like the look of this modern Speedmaster '57 with the column wheel for its chronograph. Definitely a piece I would love to have in my collection in the future! Have a good day.
Omega did a great job on matching the colors of the leather straps to the dial colors. But i still prefer the green and the red version with a steel bracelet. Phenomenal looking watches
I'm on the hunt for one luxury watch to add to my more affordable collection. At first glance the 57 Speedmaster looked intriguing, the lug to lug and thickness are deal breakers.
You should definitely try the Speedmaster on your wrist and not only rely on numbers we provide. The chronograph wears really good… Give it a try and please let us know what you think thereafter…
I would much rather have a quickset date over a jumping hour function. Setting the date on the latter is a chore and this doesn't even have a dedicated GMT function. I change the date more frequently than I change the hour hand. For this reason, and because there are many other chronos out there, I will not be buying this watch. It's a shame because it looks fantastic!
Wow- that sandwich dial on the vintage is lovely 😊- the oxblood watch is my favourite though, if I had the money that’s the one I’d get but my wages are not even Omega moonswatch levels 😢
Wow they finally put in the micro adjustment feature to the speedy bracelet (is this the first time ?) The green looks lovely but likely have to experience it in person as the pictures from omega website has a very different color vs the video here, especially for the blue and green variants One thing I don’t understand is the moon watch can keep the 42mm with short lugs at 48mm whereas this 40.5mm with lugs close to 50mm, feels like this might wear as big as my black bay 41mm , which is a little bit too big as my wrist size is similar to Alex
We did an accurate color balance before filming to be able to calibrate the editing... the colors you see are the ones you will see again when you wear the watches...

Tastes are different! This is the most modern way of wearing a Speedmaster today... You should try it on your wrist... fits perfect, looks good...
I agree completely, and the comment about it being a modern watch...... Its has patina on it for gods sake, the whole point is that it isn't supposed to be modern
Regarding the dial color, my vote goes to green with bracelet hands down!
Good choice! Green seems too be the new blue after blue was the new black...
Why not keep the original diameter? The watch world has changed and people are now liking the classic size of watches. There is a reason why Tudor BB58 is such a huge success.
Omega is not Tudor! Tastes are different! This size is perfect... you should try the Speedmaster on your wrist and comment thereafter again...

Blue dial is stunning
Beautiful watch, love all the colors. Been on a waiting list for over a year and is getting old having to chase down a watch. This is getting close to be on my short shopping list. Really love it. Great job Omega! 🥳👍🏼
Sharp looking watches, well done Omega
Fantastic looking pieces!
The blue is stunning!
My personal favorite 🤩
Not enough red in the watch world. 1957 was a great year! Red on bracelet would be my fave. Thanks Alexander!
Thanks for sharing our passion!
These are beautiful. For me, its green color, if I do pick one up.
Thanks for sharing... I keep my fingers crossed...🤞🏻
My colleague wears a Seamaster 300 while I wear a Breitling chrono. I was expecting more for the money paid to buy an Omega. I think Coaxial and in-house movement are good reasons to buy it.The rear side is nice.
This is a home run by Omega in my opinion. Very nice looking watches and a good size for most people.
Which one is your favorite?
@@WatchAdvisor The blue and the red on stainless steel.
These are great watches - thanks for the wonderful video presentation. That green dial looks so smart. What a great package on bracelet or strap. Looking forward to getting hands on.
Thanks for sharing our passion! I am happy to read this...
This is exactly what the Speedmaster '57 should have always been. These are very attractive.
Thanks for sharing! Which one would you choose?
@@WatchAdvisor Blue dial but I like the black and I can’t explain why I like the burgundy as well.
Alexander the bergandy looks the best, but l wouldn't care which one I had.
They are all stunning
Thanks for sharing!
@@WatchAdvisor Thank you so much
The best watch channel!
Thanks for sharing our passion! Love your comment!
The blue has a really nice turquoise hue in it.
Blue would be my choice too...
If you listen to Greg you will learn that the design elements all come from earlier Speedmaster chronographs ... So why worry?
A definite move in the right direction from the last generation autos. But for me, I don't think classic '50s proportions can easily be scaled up in size - it results in very long lugs. I'd go for the black on bracelet (which looks great). Some beautiful features here - movement, bracelet, bezel, sandwich dial and a great daily wear piece - but not enough to join the collection or supplant my Speedy Pro!
My new favorite watch channel.
Thanks for sharing our passion and welcome to Watchadvisor!
As an avid watch enthusiast I never understood why folks immediately start complaining and critiquing the proportions of a watch. I don’t like large oversized watches either but to me this strikes a nice balance.
True! The only way to find out is to try the watch on the wrist... sometimes size matters, sometimes not...
I agree
@@WatchAdvisor my pleasure Sir love your channel! Hope it helps those who find it difficult to get hands on the sexy new wrist candy.
Like the blue dial very much!
I am tempted too!
By far the best release .. so far...

@@WatchAdvisor which one would you keep for life and maybe pass on to future generations?
Love these Speedmasters so much!!
Which one is you favorite?
Georgeous looking timepieces. I love the blue but the black is timeless. Not sure what I would go for in the end.
Bracelet or strap?
@@WatchAdvisor bracelet for me - but that's because i own an IWC Portuguese on a blue strap
I hear you!
Zone time, Zone time 😂 thanks again for the great effort 👌
We live in a timezone - yes! But in a timezone a zone-time is shown... there is NO watch showing a timezone, since a watch is not a map...
Very nice! An upgrade of the WR to 100m would have probably been even better though. :)
Then the case would be thicker and bigger though...
You must try the Speedmaster on your wrist to know if yes or no...
Definitely one to go and see in person. The blue and black dial looks beautiful. Not sure how well the red and green will age. Why on earth did Omega obviously think this watch through in such detail and then possibly sabotage it with a 49.6mm lug to lug!?
Try it on your wrist… only then you will know if it fits or not… please share some thoughts with us thereafter…
Excellent review! Enjoy the look of the Speedmaster '57. The exhibition caseback is beautiful. Personally, I wished more of the movement could be exposed like the beautiful exhibition caseback of the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch.
This Speedmaster showcases what it has to offer in a particular way … it is big cinema on the wrist! Are you thinking of buying one?
@@WatchAdvisor Hello Alexandre. Thank you for your reply. I have the Moonwatch cal. 3861 which I purchased recently. I like the look of this modern Speedmaster '57 with the column wheel for its chronograph. Definitely a piece I would love to have in my collection in the future!
Have a good day.
Omega did a great job on matching the colors of the leather straps to the dial colors. But i still prefer the green and the red version with a steel bracelet. Phenomenal looking watches
Thanks for sharing! My favorite is the blue one with bracelet…
@@WatchAdvisor I'll try one and keep an open mind, good idea.
Tastes are different... The time zone function is more useful though...
Bravo! Omega delivering best-in-class products.
This new Speedmaster 57 is the most modern way to wear an icon...
Wow- that sandwich dial on the vintage is lovely 😊- the oxblood watch is my favourite though, if I had the money that’s the one I’d get but my wages are not even Omega moonswatch levels 😢
Lug to lug makes this a no go for me. Strangely, I think the moonwatch at 42mm would look better on a slender wrist.
You still have to try the Speedmaster on your wrist... Only then you will know...
Wow they finally put in the micro adjustment feature to the speedy bracelet (is this the first time ?)
The green looks lovely but likely have to experience it in person as the pictures from omega website has a very different color vs the video here, especially for the blue and green variants
One thing I don’t understand is the moon watch can keep the 42mm with short lugs at 48mm whereas this 40.5mm with lugs close to 50mm, feels like this might wear as big as my black bay 41mm , which is a little bit too big as my wrist size is similar to Alex
We did an accurate color balance before filming to be able to calibrate the editing... the colors you see are the ones you will see again when you wear the watches...
