    Thank you for including the weight! I can't understand why more reviewers (and brands in general) don't include the weight of the watch. It makes such a difference in terms of deciding comfort and daily wearability (based on personal preference) . Kudos to you for including this info and I hope you continue to do so on future videos.

    The transition at 2:01 was very clean! Thanks for the review, I wasn't aware of the change from 2013 to 2015.
    If anyone is curious there is a very good looking version from the prior generation with a white dial and in titanium.
    I really wanted to fall in love with this watch 57' ( the burgundy in particular). The proportions seemed perfect for me but once I tried it on the bracelet it didn't fit right, and I tried it on a few different times to double check. I was surprised considering I don't mind the fit of the Speedmaster Pro.
    So for now as a Speedy guy I will sit in my corner and cry as I won't be wearing this
    EDIT: 16 cm wrist

    Some 10 years ago, a Japanese Omega AD took the previous gen Speedmaster Professional (Cal. 1861) to have it pressure testeted. He played safe initially by removing the movement and tested the case alone but as the water pressure increased past 10 bar without air leak detected, he went on to full blown destructive test (with movement still removed). The case withstood the water pressure of 20 bar without leakage but eventually the case back collapsed at the water pressure of 25 bar. He also operated the pushbutton at the shallow depth of beach with his watch fully submerged and found no water ingress afterwards. That was plain impressive and since then, I started considering to buy a Speedmaster more seriously. Why not yet? There are too many to choose from!

    biggest problem with Omega is seen when one looks at their catalog from 1960-1979. Those were thin, timeless, gracefull watches, with classic mid-century styling. Today: thick, oversized watches, centered around 20,000 "limited editions". They cash in endlessly on the moonwatch, yet all of their other watches miss....BTW: huge props to Omega about their WR, and also your attention to the issue!

    • @patrickjean-philippe7679
      @patrickjean-philippe7679 Год назад +1

      My impression is that larger & thicker watches must be cheaper to produce because of the larger tolerances to defects… Most brands are producing larger & thicker watches which are generally less elegant, graceful and timeless.

      Their watches are still thinner than some of the competition. Take tudor for example, not only are their watches heinously thick and slab like, they do nothing to bevel the case flanks. At least omega's design their watches to wear thinner than they are. I have a speedmaster racing, white dial varrient for example. It's pretty thick on paper, but it doesn't wear that thick. Most new, modern generation chronograph watches are thick by nature, it's the features they have, the power reserve, and in the case of Omega, the coaxial escapement. It all just takes up more space. If you want a thin watch, stay away from a Chrono.

    • @jamiea8318

      Every manufacturer is making larger thicker watches in comparisons the 60s average. It’s not great but it’s not uniquely an Omega problem.

Also this is the first micro adjustment clasp I've ever had and it's perfect for me. No need for any more adjustments. My wrists don't change that much. My only knock is that I wish omega used a little more punchy colours on their dials. Side by side, a normal Seiko dial will outshine omega every time. But that's just a subjective thing.

These new variants look really good, but one thing that annoys me with few Omegas, including the black dial variant here is that faux lume. They do the same thing on the Seamaster 300. Sure, there's downsides of manual wind, but also upsides like thickness, sure there's downsides of no quick set date, but huge upsides of quickset hour. First off apple isn't a watch. Its a phone you were on your wrist. Second I never do pre-flight I just wash my hands I wear proper watch's with at least 100m water resistance lol. If it doesn't have gears its not a watch lol. Just like a Tesla is not a performance car lol.

      @Mega-zi7ys Год назад +3

      No problem with "public" otherwise they wouldn't be selling that many watches.
      RUclipsrs tend to think they are the greater majority when Infact it's not true at all. They tend to hear their own voices. Take Tudor... it's much hyped as if everybody loves them.but market realities are totally different from RUclips perception. Longines is far ahead of Tudor in market share.
      Likewise the moonswatch, for all the so called hate among so called RUclips experts...they sell a lot of those. And I've seen many rich folks including many of my friends with expensive exotic watches buying and wearing them.
      Am not referring to you btw, pls don't take this the wrong way.

Yeah that makes a ton of sense, I personally think they as well as grand Seiko are better than Rolex (and Im not hating on Rolex Im a fan of Rolex, I know they have iconic watches and that’s why they’re so beloved) but I do think omega and GS would be selling more than Rolex if everyone on earth was a watch nerd that cared about these things haha.

    I wonder if that WR policy extends to the rest of the group?
    Logically, a depth rating should always be safe at that depth whereas a pressure rating is clearly a combination of depth and movement and so Omega are merely doing what everyone should always have been doing, and Swatch Group as a whole should be doing it too.
    What does it say that we're all so surprised & impressed by a watch firm 'not' bending the truth?!

    That bombshell about waterproofiness very nearly trumps the real star of this watch, its clockface chrono dial which makes it easier to read elapsed time than nearly every other chronograph. If it had a flyback it'd objectively be the best chronograph in the world (alongside the IWC Yachtclub, to my knowledge the only watch to share those two features).
    PS the pushers on my chronograph are designed to be used under water 🤣✌️
