Ultimate is my first smash game, I love it, it introduced me to so many amazing content creators. But now I barely have it in me to play it, knowing that some of those same creators used the game I loved as a tool to satiate their disgusting desires. Sakurai must be so disappointed, his one goal was to make people happy with what he has made, and to have that tainted must be beyond crushing for him. I hope this community gets better, but for now I'm fucking done, I hope these scumbags are happy with themselves, because I'm not.
In the midst of an already turbulent month, dozens of accusations came about against prominent Smash players accusing them of various sexual misconduct, some case being with minors. Not everything was true but it was such a disheartening time. Many people no longer felt safe or trusted
I’m not gonna let this ruin the smash game itself nor the competitive smash matches persé. But this for sure ruined my perspective of experiences in competitive smash. Using games as an object to lead yourself sexual desires is evil. This isn’t the first time something like this happened before.
Listen man i dont want to force you into anything and i do understand your conflicting view on it and i understand but you cant let these few people ruin your view on this game and the community yes smash has one of the worst communitys due to the toxicity and this but we cant let these few individuals ruin the game and community this has been going on for years the best we can do is move forward and just be aware about what these did but i understand if you plan on leaving but if you truly care about the community which i watch your videos and i know you do so we have to move forward in a positive way
I do still love Smash as a game. I fully intend to come back eventually. But playing it recently makes me uncomfortable. The community needs time to heal, and I don't want to make videos the same as always and pretend things aren't different now. I will come back when the Smash community has shown itself to have grown. Til then I'll feel embarrassed to enjoy the game.
