this video made me realize that all final smashes can be categorized into 4 types 1: Cutscene, usually takes all players out of the match to watch a short 5 second video on what's happening, doesnt usually kill until the last hit 2: Flurry, stays within the bounds of the stage, has a large active hitbox for a few frames then hits the enemy with a bunch of strikes, finishing with one that actually kills 3: Real time, stays within the bounds of the stage, usually a massive hitbox that is constantly active, can kill before dealing major damage 4: Screen Wipe, the least common, also stays within the stage, and has a character hitting almost the entire stage, also tends to kill prematurely there are a few notable exceptions to these (most notably bayonetta, who starts in real time but ends with a cutscene, pyra/mythra, who starts with a cutscene and enters real time, and kazuya, who does the same thing, these weirdos are classified by what they start with) that being said, here's the list (not counting echo fighters except ken cause ken and ryu are also weird scenarios, both final smashes are counted) Cutscene: 28 Flurry: 15 Real Time: 34 Screen Wipe: 8 Fun fact: over half of the cutscene final smashes comes from characters introduced in smash ultimate

I like how they had to increase their health so Pichu wouldn't risk KOing itself during the final smash, and then it never went back down. The funniest moments were Lucas almost failing to KO his opponent and Olimar getting the KO by just spawning his ship.

Try doing it like this: team battle with team attack on Use the final smash on your teammate and have the other guy walk into it Sometimes the match would end with the final smash still going on
There's a glitch that I don't know if it's been patched or not, but if you ko someone in a Stamina match but then someone else catches them in a cinematic final smash (Mega Man probably being the best to use), it keeps the body on the stage like they used to do in Brawl
I kinda wish more cutscene Final Smashes got similar treatment as Joker’s. Super jarring going from a pre-rendered cutscene back to the stage just for a slow motion launch and “GAME!”
I find it interesting that for most of them the game will wait until the cinematic is done but for the cases in which the match ends mid animation I honestly find it fascinating as it provides a very cinematic and cool last frame
