Wow, this impressed me like crazy. Love how it's not just "GO BALL!!" Like Sonic. They actually use some fun chaos control moves, and i LOVE the back throw, which is a reference to what he did to Silver in Sonic 06
Not only are the animations and move set so well made, but even the sound design too! It’s such an overlooked part of what makes a character feel more natural in a game.
The only thing that i would like to see, it’s some kinda move or dodge like bayonetta or mythra to represent chaos control, stoping time, but he look so cool
This is the best mod of ssbu, the modders done a very good job, this shadow really feels like an official character, even has the exact same movement animation as sonic rivals
This mod is so exciting yet at the same time so sad because I know that Shadow will either not get added to the next game, or he will and he'll be a half assed clone of Sonic rather than this unique and fleshed out idea on a moveset. Considering we now has Shadow Gens, and how Shadow is literally the 2nd most popular character in the whole Sonic franchise, I think it's high time Sakurai finally gave him his spot.

His moveset is mostly based on Sonic Battle, with a mix of 06 thrown in as well. But the creator himself said he based the moveset off of a fan game called Super Smash Bros Crusade.

This is so well-done and feels official. I can tell that this mod is a passion project given all the details, character accuracy, references, and effort put into it. I love how it takes plenty of inspiration from Shadow’s moveset from Sonic Battle and one of his grab moves is a direct reference of that one scene where Shadow roundhouse kicked Silver in Sonic ‘06, that’s so cool. See, this mod is a good example of why Shadow deserves to be his own fighter with his own moveset in Smash and not just an echo fighter. It doesn’t make sense to have Shadow as an echo fighter because he has enough unique attacks that separates him from Sonic. All of the chaos powers that he uses are the main example of that. Not to mention wielding guns, swords, poles, riding vehicles, using teleportation, air shoes, and most recently the Doom Powers from Sonic X Shadow Generations. If you want to depict Shadow as accurately as possible in Smash, then you need to have him be his own fighter separate from Sonic. Shadow is not a clone of Sonic. Just because they’re both hedgehogs that can move at supersonic speeds, spin dash, use homing attacks, and have a super form, doesn’t mean that they’re exactly the same character. Shadow was always given unique abilities to separate him from Sonic ever since his debut. Anyone who thinks that Shadow should just be an echo fighter of Sonic has not paid attention to his abilities throughout the Sonic series or just isn’t knowledgeable enough about his character.

The reason back throw's so weak is because it's based on the scene in '06, where he kicks Silver in the back of the head and he basically just flops over, which in itself is based on a number of techniques in martial arts intended to incapacitate your target

How could you ignore all of the moveset references to Sonic Battle; his smashes and aerials are nearly all pulled from that one game lol. Basically anything that uses the purple orb effect is from Sonic Battle
His grounded side special is a move that Sonic has in a Rivals of Aether mod, his side special in the air is taken from a Shadow mod in the same game. Sick as hell
I'm pretty sure that the "being grabbed" animations are broken for the time being due to being early access, resulting in the opponent twisting and breaking Shadow's body when all they want is to hold him still for a second, yikes....
one thing that always shocks me when looking at mods is how fucking exquisite the animations the base game has. Mods, no offense, always end up looking floaty and weightless like the other smash competitors. Smash is truly leaps and bounds above the competition.
