angonoka7 exactly in fact the V6 of the Alfa Quadrifoglio and the V8 of the 488 Pista have the same Ferrari Model name F154. The twin turbo V6 has the advantage of one turbo for 3 cylinders only for a better fill, because pressure wave reflecting on the turbine interfear less with the next piston exhaust blast with only 3 cylinders. There are now plenty of turbo 3 cyl. A concept Pionniered by The Ford Ecoboost. This Ferrari V6 version benefited from all Martinelli's developement of a 3 liter Based on a FCA Penstar 3.6 L V6 for the Maserati Ghibli, featuring turbos as an integral part of the three ports exhaust manifold and this way self- supported. They knew their stuff...ahead of Porsches on that one. The V8 F154 must use twin scroll turbo like a formula 1 where single turbo is mandatory and V6 also. So the Alfa V6 F154 output is high and only the latest pista 720 HP Ferarri engine is specifically more powerful. dr Philgood

The Italian Alfa Romeo`s cars suits your personality so well, Sam. I believe the German cars are to clinical and lacks emotions for your personal taste. Get it in a another colour - I suggest a red paint work and caramel brown leather interior.

Awesome spec...the brown is nice but a little too subdued....Alfa had a beautiful butterscotch bright yellow in their 164 sedans of the 90's...those were amazing interiors.....D

Yes....I had a green and butterscotch 164 L (1993) and I currently have a 2017 Giulia Quad , 1991 164 S, and a 1964 Giulia Sprint GT
Honestly I don't know in England but in Italy a Macan Turbo with same kind of options (panoramic roof, alcántara, carbon fiber etc etc) it is at least 10.000 euro more expensive.
Even if you buy both without options the Porsche it is bit more expensive and you will have 100 hp less (400 against 510) and less sharpness.
I'd get the guilia, you can still get people in it. If I'm honest I don't have enough friends with a load of luggage to need a huge SUV anyway 😂

Great video review. Actually trading in my Guilia Quad this week for this Stelvio. Loved my Guilia but need a bit more practicality for hauling daily things. Can’t wait. These machines are just incredible to drive. Gave the BMW a shot this week but so funny how we quickly go back to these Quadrifoglio. Life is good.
Easy to fix the Giulia QF sound by installing AHM's exhaust valve mode like I have. Now the valves can be opened and closed in any mode with a remote. And can leave the valves open for cold start. Take a look at my channel. Also I'm nearly 4 months in 4k miles and it hasn't missed a beat. It's an absolute weapon and can change to a sleeper at will. Amazing job Alfa.

Great car and great review. I just love SUV’s. Fell in love with them in the mid 90’s when I worked in Arizona. Since then I just have not been able to go back to saloon cars. But if I wanted a sports car, then I would buy a 911 or something Italian. Ie, have both. I have a new new Audi SQ5 and its just perfect.
SQ5 are too slow by today’s standards and bog down off the line.

Good video Sam, glad you got your hands on one of those. I agree with you on the infotainment system - it's not bad, but ze Germans certainly do that bit better. However, like the Giulia, this simply looks more special than its German rivals.

Sam, the question isn't weather or not you would buy one based on if you like it or not, it should be "if I was buying an SUV, would I buy it over the Macan, or the Jag... etc. Because if your not into SUV's then why would you buy it at all, or any other one for that matter. So the question isn't if you would buy, it, it's if you would buy it over it's competitors. I would only buy an SUV if I needed one, so right now I wouldn't buy a Stelvio, not because it's a bad SUV, but because I don't need it.
At 5:09 you can see how low in the arches the wheels are, you could definitely lower the Stelvio into a mean looking squat. Though I think the recently announced Levante with the Ferrari V8 might blow this out of the water, and it's front end also wins
For me the Levante has the edge over the Stelvio in terms of design but performance wise I guess this one is better! Great video as always Sam!

Nice review Sam, as always. Don't think the Giulia is really an alternate for an SUV and one looking to buy into that segment won't consider any sedan.
I do like the looks and love the sound of the Stelvio Q. Having said that I would probably buy the Macan Turbo, seems like the wiser choice for me.
Now that there's an F-Pace SVR , need to see a FSVR, Stelvio Q and GLC 63S 3-way comparison. Umm..Macan Turbo who now? Totally outclassed

No clocked 50k on my Stelvio QV. Very nice ride; only two negatives: fuel tanks is freaking small (55 liters). Try to get this below 15 liters for 100k… And the sound system is rather weak, despite the subwoofer in the trunk. But that’s all meaningless when you overtake a silly Audi when going uphills 😎

I think thats nice, but if i buy an suv and want it to be good off & on road so i would still prefer to get a land rover/range rover. I think the f-pace would also be a good choice depending how much tech they have got from the land rover side of the JLR partnership.
when you talk about the screen in the giulia being small thats because you can get an upgraded larger screen

The rear styling would look better with a split tailgate like the big Range Rover or the X5, ans bigger rear optic groups. The Giulia has a perfect design though, but has less space and no 4WD.

1:28 FAIL....0 - 60 in the Stelvio Quad is 3.6...Faster than the Giulia Quad thanks to the AWD and some have reported 0 - 60 in 3.3 !!!! Giulia Quad has longer legs and catches up after 100 and has a higher top speed...

There’s an manual, Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 convertible from 1990 on auto trader for £12k currently I’d buy instead!
Why would you buy that thing for such a high price, when you could buy a Duetto from 1966? The series one and two of the Spider is magnificent, while the fourth goes back to the roots it has the typical 90's box form which is controversial I'd say.
What about, a used one in 6-12months time if it dropped to say around 55-60k?
