Kids in school will get bullied for something until they stop doing it just so the popular ones can take it for their own because they felt left out before
This is terrifyingly similar, just in a different font. Some people suck for their entire lives. If something is for disabled people, and you don't need it yourself (diagnosed or not), don't get it and try to make it into something it's not

I mean she is kinda right but not because it will cause wrinkles, but it can cause a problem called Keratoconus in the eye/s. I have this and it’s mostly caused from me having dry (“allergy”) eyes that I rub all the time, it causes the cornea to become thin and cone shaped - which effects vision and means I cannot wear contact lenses and also need frequent new glasses prescriptions.

I was told to wipe my makeup off from the inside of my face towards the outside since I was literally 5 and in my first pageant. My mom saw me wiping my makeup off in like a back and forth motion afterwards. I was already crying bc I had another girl tell me my dress wasn’t pretty enough and I was half asleep bc 5 year olds are not supposed to be up that late trying to pick lash glue off of their eyes. And the only thing she said to me when seeing was that I was going to get eye wrinkles and look old if I kept wiping my makeup off like that.

It's not laughing, frowning, drinking from straws that really causes wrinkles per se, but when you get older, your body loses collagen, which is the cause of wrinkles. That's why beauty brands make lotions, creams, and serums wirh collagen in it. There's even a powder you put in shakes and smoothies that's collagen and it supposed to help with reducing wrinkles.

At the height of my ED trying to recover, I would constantly ask my partner "would you still love me if I looked x y or z way?" and their constant reassurance has led me down a path of body neutrality. Body neutrality is also how I am working on caring about aging or skin (I have had acne for 10+ years). Because guess what, the highlight of you is not where you are on the aging spectrum, how you look etcetera, it is YOU and the content of what YOU put into the world. It's your words and actions. Be you, please!!! Let's work on breaking down the hyper-awareness over how we look, and focus on WHAT we are DOING exactly.

While I don't have a problem with getting wrinkles and aging, I do with my hair. It was my biggest insecurity for a long time until I found a way to take care of it in my adult years. My mum once told me when I was 16, I had grey strands of hair behind my ear. The moment she said this I pointed out her own streaks of grey to tease and get back at her for her comment and then I rushed to my bestie to make double sure I wasn't actually greying from stress. I was stressed in my teens and I'm stressed in my 20s, and it terrified me that I'd start going grey before I reached my late 30s/40s.

I know this might not help, since insecurities often end up deeply embedded in a person's mind (I should know, I have several of my own) but I have always found grey hair beautiful. My mother hates her strands and always dyes them, but I see them as something magical, as though a person has strands of sterling woven through their hair. It's just another sign of living, and it's beautiful. Every person ages differently too, and that's a wonderful thing, because we all have our own signs that we've existed.

I enjoy having lip lines (or smokers lines) they're something that physically makes people unique, why people judge others for having them and prevent themselves from having them as much as possible even though they aren't bad, I have no clue, but I do know that my English teacher from last year looks BEAUTIFUL even after having wrinkles and lip lines

What I would hear when I was younger was "Don't smoke cigarettes, you will get those mouth wrinkles." Not that I would since I am not trying to set myself up for any cancers on purpose, but seems that as cigarettes have died down more, now it's moved on to straws for wrinkles. Though you still kind of have to do the same movement to use the straw as with a normal one, so I don't expect it will change anything with mouth wrinkles lol.

That trend started a few years back already and already they were made fun of for how stupid that sounds. It died off but apparently thanks to tiktok it got resuscitated. The straw in itself exhisting is not the problem since they were invented for people with mobility difficulties. It's the damn people obsessed with their looks 🤦‍♀️

Honestly some of these ‘anti-aging’ things have gotten to me and made me search for wrinkles forming on my face; like my forehead, around my eyes or mouth, etc. And it makes me lowkey embarrassed because I don’t wanna be anything like those people who make it such a big deal 😭

I was at the beach and those girl couldn't be more than 25 if that because they were talking loudly about going back to college. I overheard one of the girls say she's getting anti aging facial treatment. I was like what (in my head) are you doing you're not even 25. I don't get the anti aging thing. You're supposed to look older as time passes. It's completely natural and just a biological fact. I don't get why it's such a problem when you're literally meant to age. But no one is going to say that because they want money off of insecurities that are supposed to happen.

as a young girl in this generation- ive been really confused w beauty standards, im currently at 40kg and constantly told how flat and underweight i am but then i see ppl hating on average/ healthily weighed people . then people hate on plus sized models and say to lose weight its just confusing- then if u have too strong of a baby face it feels wrong to like u bc u look like a kid but then when someone looks mature they look "twice their age" so what do they want us to do?? if ur too skinny and flat then ur ugly if ur thick with a bit of belly fat , ur ugly. if u get plastic surgery to fit their standards, ur ugly and unatural. if ur plus sized ur ugly and fat- WHAT DO THEY WANT?!!??!

In moments like this i wonder what happened to yolo, you only live once. Live like youre dying cause you are on a cellular level, you are dying thats what aging is, so live like it. Enjoy every moment, lines and scars show the years youve lived, memories imprinted on your skin. Enjoy them

Fun fact, you dont need to purse your lips with a normal straw. Push the straw further into your mouth and use your tongue to seal the end off and you'll still be able to use a normal straw (Coming from someone who has NEVER pursed their lips to use a straw because it was more comfy to just move it slightly further into my mouth)

Drinking out a normal shaped straw has benefits last time I had a tooth extraction they told me to use a straw instead of drinking out the cup due to my gums and stuff. but the straws they are using are legit made for ant ageing. It’s so weird 😅

I mean… if we’re so afraid of wrinkles and normal ageing to show on our faces… might as well leave the earth and live in space if we don’t want the gravity on this earth to do it’s job and pull everything, including our skin, down while the normal ageing process of our bodies causes our skin to lose its elasticity within time. That’s the ultimate wrinkle causing combo, sooner or later 🤪.
None of us can escape what’s inevitable. So let’s enjoy our time laughing and smiling with our loved ones whenever we can. 🤷‍♀️ …and idk not stress about if using a regular straw will cause wrinkles prematurely oh my god.

Ironic fact: it is recommended and proven by health professionals and dentists, drinking anything besides water with a REAL straw can significantly decrease the chances of staining and cavities, as well as increase/make it easier to keep/obtain your pearly whites. It also helps with gum health.

Cant imagine carrying about wrinkles tho, my skin has already scars all over it, wrinkles will just be a continuing story. I'm excited to have laugh lines and crows feet and lines from raising my eyebrows. Idk I guess if it made us live longer i could care but it's not like being smooth faced will make me immortal
