I hate gurus. All of them. The ones who tell you you’re dressing “wrong” for your body, the ones who tell you you’re attracting the “wrong” people. This is wrong, that is wrong, and I’m right because I call myself a guru.
Me too. They give CPTSD flashbacks of childhood when I was silenced and felt I can't be my authentic self. I am just healing from this sh!t and they come bashing women who just want to take their power back and own their voice. It triggers me even more than mean people from my childhood cause they do it purposefully and for clout.
I’m waiting for the color theory trend to pass. It just feels very odd. And to be specific, I mean yes, wear colors you like. But the clothing influencers and the online tests or even specialists that you can pay, just feels scammy.

Then get off her page. As simple as that. There are a lot of women such as myself who are interested in the concept of elegance. The world doesn't revolve around you.
Literally like TODAY I was basically wearing a full face of makeup for a party. I knew it looked unnatrual and gorgeous and I got complements and stuff. But some ppl don't realize that when some of us put on makeup, our goal really isn't to look natural. There is no right or wrong when it comes to makeup. Like, if i wanna look like a Bratz or Barbie doll, then I'll do it.
The "cheap and tacky" things like tattoos, brightly dyed hair, lots of makeup, long fake lashes or acrylic fingernails, are EXPENSIVE, so when someone says you look "not professional/elegant" with them, it just sounds like they're calling those features gross, which in many cases minority racial/ethnic communities are where the things are most popular so to me it really just seems like racism of not wanting to be associated with "those people". Just even like with piercings, everyone has things they personally think are more attractive ways for people to look, but saying it's "not elegant" to have a facial piercing it's just saying "in this particular culture we must defend the idea that this is not good, because I DO know in other places this is seen as attractive and it's all arbitrary when you think about it, so we must continue social shaming toward this look because we wouldn't want OUR former view of this feature to be REPLACED with THEIR idea."
No one is shaming anyone or particularly calling whatever unattractive… No one is forcing you to do anything nor judging you… but some people want and look for advice like that to adopt a certain style so you’re not really the target audience…
For real!!! All the expensive things are trashy and bla bla bla, babe my tattoos all together cost like $3k and my piercings are like $500 not including all the jewelry I get for them bc that’s expensive too.
Yes, using pictures of ppl who naturally have those features instead of using the pictures of ppl who don’t naturally have those features…. Could be blissful ignorance but I think not.
not trying to throw race into this but as a black girl I really hated when she said putiing dark lip liner around your lips looks non elegant because alot of dark skin women do that lip look as it works well with their skintone. For me, if I put a solid pinky/peachy color like her on my lips ill look hideouse as it would awkardly pop out, ill have to put a darker liner to somewhat pull it off. And im not speaking for all darkskin woman as alot can pull off a solid color but im speaking on my experience and what I know.
You can tell that lady knows nothing about makeup and how it applies to different skin tones. It's well known that people with darker complexions use this method as a way to make certain lipstick shades work for their skintone.
She said that because she thinks looking Eurocentric is the right way. Brown/black women line their lips and accentuate them because that’s their beauty standards. That’s natural to them and that makes them beautiful.
My god! We are obsessed with telling each other what to do every minute of every day! These women that are obsessed with "divine femininity" which is really "look like you come from money which is classist, be submissive and delicate and gentle (which is misogynistic), and be the contrast to a masculine man (again misogynistic)." It's NOT my goal to be as attractive to every man on the planet. I want men who like my eccentric makeup, hair, and clothes (not just men). Many people love alt looks or just regular people who enjoy makeup. Its totally okay to wear what you want and im so sick of this "thats not classy, thata not mature, men dont like that." Like??? DO I CARE?
Oh yeah so well said. The obsession with being feminine/masculine 🤡. Traumatizing for people having CPTSD. Like women who struggle to express their voice or men who were taught that "men don't cry" 😑 Person who is meant for you will love you. No need to impress every single guy on the planet.
I got told off for wearing black lipstick to someones wedding and told it didnt look classy and that I wouldn't find a husband looking like someone died. I laughed and said, yeah that's the idea.
It's ironic how being trashy is only acceptable when you're actually rich. It's starting to feel the same as "eccentric if you've money; crazy if you're poor"
True elegance comes from doing whatever the fuck you want and being proud of it and standing in it. I love my massive lashes and blushy overly colorful eyeshadow looks and gluing rhinestones to my undereyes to make it look like I'm crying glitter because I'm a glittery bitch. All I can say is THE BARBIE MOVIE. This movie was a perfect representation of how women are treated and how much we are constantly put down for everything we do. My heart warms over watching videos of women connecting over this film and sharing their experiences. Men and Women like this will never understand.
brands simply do not make lipstick shades for dark skin this is the only way black women can get these lip colours to suit our skin , sad but thats the reason for the brown liner
I've noticed a lot of brown/black women also have 2-toned lips which isn't common in white or asian women. So the liner and gloss combo looks good on those women to tie the tones together.
The brown liner/ gloss combo is definitely a staple for POC, as a woman of color myself that really pissed me off from the jump like what? we are divine feminine just like all women. smhhhh.
Wow, as a nerd gal, I like to do artsy make-up that takes inspiration from comics and anime, it makes me mad that a lady who looks like a high society snob is telling us ladies we are not elegant if we do our make-up the way we like to do it. I always prefer to be artsy and eclectic in how I do my make-up and in how I dress, it took so long for me to be comfortable in my own skin after being bullied a lot by other girls as a teenager and I'm still rebuilding my self esteem even now.
And that is true elegance and maturity. Getting to a point of being comfortable in your skin and in your expression. There is nothing elegant in trying to brainwash people into wearing beige and being clones to attract all men. I want to attract the people who like me for me. You will find nothing but vapid, snooty conformity trying to pressure yourself into a box. That right there is not fucking elegant and honestly seems miserable.
She also sounds like she would say alternative women aren't elegant because we want to look like a vampire. Personally idc what she says I like my style and my makeup choice I feel confidence in it.

@@Anika99356 yeah, so there's no real rules, that's why I said "arbitrary". Not everyone cares about what other people think of them. Not everyone is so insecure. And "looking good" is subjective. It may not look good to you but it will to some other people. And who will know if I use a brow pencil as eyeliner? Or any of my other examples? 🥴 it's all just color, you wouldn't be able to tell it wasn't the "correct product". Stop projecting your insecurities onto others, it's not cute. Also, tell this to all the makeup influencers who are doing the trend of using makeup "the wrong way". And the 220+ people who liked my comment. I don't wear makeup to make other people think I look good. Maybe you do but that's you babe 🤷 not everyone
I’m qualified in makeup, which yes there is makeup theory but creativity is a massive part of makeup. And when it comes to the creative elements of makeup there aren’t any rules. So these “feminine elegance” creators need to stop with their ridiculous views, it’s okay to not like certain makeup trends but commenting on it like they’re the defining opinion on this is cringeworthy.
True elegance is seeing everyone and yourself as beauty, no matter how different because we feel comfortable in our own skin unapologetically for ourselves, not for men or society.
People shouldn't be mad about what other people are wearing, like just because they think it's ugly or whatever doesn't make it okay to make fun of. Wearing makeup or whatever isn't hurting anyone, so there's no reason for people to get mad about it.
the ed side of social media is very toxic and hates people who speak up against influencers who promote their glamorized disordered eating lifestyle. i’ve seen some pretty terrible things said about your body from them all because you stand up against the promotion of that stuff. thank you for being so outspoken and continuing to show women that weight is not a scary thing.
Ive stopped paying attention to what ppl in western society say about beauty or makeup styles and started looking at historical makeup. Chinese makeup, specifically in the Tang dynasty, makes me super happy bc at one point the beauty standard favored women with more weight on them, rounder faces, it makes me enjoy my face. Makeup is just that, a way to turn our faces into art, to enjoy them in a different way. To critique makeup though is not to critique regular art. It is a critique on our personal choices in how we choose to present ourselves. There's nothing elegant about putting down another woman or just in general, persons, self expression when it takes less time to mind your business.
it's so contradictory because is it elegant to put other women down? take screenshots of random girls enjoying themselves and criticizing their apparence ? Of course not I know that one of the "rules" of elegant people is to not be bitter... so according to her own logic she herself is not very elegant except in appearance maybe, but being superficial is not elegant either so yeah this tiktok is very hypocritical
Those "gurus" brainwash women/men that to be loved you need to act/look as they tell you, in reality everyone has their taste, not all men/women think the same. And you might start liking certain style after you see it on person you have a crush on. Attraction is subjective and she's judgemental and narrowminded.
What would Ms Elegant Woman think of a Tom Boyish woman who tries to dress dapper with long hair, lifts weights, eats like a horse, and never wears make-up? Do I dare ask? 🤣
I honestly see these as a "what not to do" guide. I had the most unpleasant experiences with men when I worked an upscale retail job that required feminine business casual attire and natural makeup. I now purposefully try to dress in unflattering silhouettes with outlandish elements to deter these threatening interactions, and it works! Thankfully it fits my ideal aesthetic as an alternative/goth femme.
this *screams* insecurity, jealously, and misogyny. Girls are so pretty in every shape, every color, and every style. i can’t imagine caring this much about what others do with their lives.
And one of the reasons why black and brown people wear the lip liner with a nude color is because it looks better with their complexion. Like trust me, when I put on pink lipstick it won't match my complexion, so I would put on a lip liner or mix it with a gloss and a daker lipstick. And the only makeup someone should be criticizing is Asian fishing, getting a way too dark tan, and straight up blackface
Yeah and the only reason a tan way too dark should be criticized is because tanning is unhealthy. There is no logical reason to criticize how somebody chooses to look if it doesn't hurt them or anybody else.
@@teya5430 I'm saying way too dark tan is like when they are almost a whole different person. Like if they intentionally wanted to look way darker than an actual tan. Since a tan isn't entirely changing your ethnicity. It's just making you look sun-kissed or just a tad bit darker, not changing you skin color entirely.

Don’t listen to them. They’re trying to tear you down to make themselves feel better because they’re insecure. Embracing your own style is a very beautiful thing. Express yourself however you want. At the end of the day, who are they to judge? Don’t ever change yourself to appease others. I bet your makeup is gorgeous irl. If you keep it up, those female dogs will wish they could do makeup like yours.
Okay, I took actual etiquette classes as a kid, and “elegance classes” and she’s doing the number one rule you NEVER break! Don’t put others down! It just shows how insecure YOU are! You LIFT others because that’s true class and elegance. You pull people up to be with you because you aren’t climbing, you’re at the top, and you don’t want to be alone up there.
What kills me is these elegance analysis vids lack culture and cultural references. Sometimes we do things to display a certain aesthetic. You gotta know what you’re lookin at lol. Half the time, makeup is to illicit cultural and fashion references. Sometimes you wanna communicate an idea through fashion/makeup. Like half my fashion is ironic so idk what she’s on lol. A real elegant woman sees the elegance in other women. An elegant woman can wear dollar store nails and have 2 inch lashes, and if she’s elegant from within and how she moves, then guess what. She’s an elegant lady who’s secure enough to not be policed on her elegance.
Elegant ladies are respectful, kind and confident. Somethings she’s not. Also as a brown woman, lip lining is more than just ‘contouring to make our lips look bigger’. It’s to make colours work with our skin tone, it makes our lips look bold and classy and it suits us!

What do you mean? Other than light skin (even though it's not just a white people trait) and big eyes (definitely not just a white people trait), what are they trying to imitate?
Even more with those doyin girls(chinese) that turn into Caucasians like girlll that looks horribly,be proud of yourself, there's no reason to change to another race.
The ignorance of this statement. The world doesn’t revolve around white people. Asians have paleness as a beauty standard since it indicates wealth. This is because rich women don’t have to work outside and be exposed to the sun. It’s white people trying to look Asian now. Have you heard of RCTA?
Ugh. I was very fortunate (in a way, will explain) to have really clear skin after my teens. And the fashion back then was a ‘natural’ look. So I never wore foundation except for pro pictures. I have Grave’s disease-a symptom is clear skin and shiny hair. Don’t worry, the other symptoms outweigh that-can be life threatening. And I have seen some badly done make up on folks. But it’s not a reason to drag them. And I think we wear daily make up for both men and other women. It’s annoying, men have long lashes. Why that is our thing we imitate has got to be to attract both sexes. And that woman is a traitor to women and a racist.
Bigger lips is considered the beauty standard in several places however it isn’t in places like Japan China and Korea and feel like that is playing a role cause of those are the ones she grew up with from her family or her culture it might have been internalized. Big eyebrows and lips are currently the beauty standard in the USA and plenty of very classy women are looking to achieve that.
When someone says that you can’t do this or that I remember when my dad tells me “tell them ”f you” because they can’t do it them selves and go and piss them off because nobody should tell you how to dress or anything”
I’m a big light brown woman and I’ve only started to like myself since I was 13 and been doubting and hating myself ever since then. And hearing talk like that really makes me hate myself again. @Teexytee777 1 second ago As a blk woman, with naturally thick lips, not all lip liners work for us. The dark brown lip liner is not even excessive it goes with our skin complexion. Im tired of so called “elegant” white women criticizing how blk women should look like. Our beauty is different, and we just roll with it. I get it she’s criticizing all women, but there’s something triggering when a white woman is telling blk women how to look. Especially with the harsh racial history in America. She’s not a elegant woman she’s a pick me because elegant woman don’t put other women down they lift them up , show them how to love themselves to get rid of low self esteem not make more of it ,to show / teach love to others showing women how to work together by not fighting over bs through support and to be a good role model for young women saying it’s ok to be different to be your true selves find Someone who will except you and not the bs they live on
As a woman who doesn't wear makeup I do not understand the trend of criticizing women who wear makeup that doesn't look 'natural'. Even though I do not wear makeup if I did I would wear something less natural and more colorful or fun. Because I do not see the point of painting your face only to try to look like you are not wearing any makeup. If I wanted to look like I wasn't wearing makeup I would not wear makeup.
also the “brown lip liner” not being “elegant” has VERY racist undertones. for decades black women have lined their lips like that…what is that woman trying to say??
As someone with naturally long lashes, that I am grateful for, when she said “when you close your eyes they should not be visible.”Blew my mind. What do you mean you shouldn’t have to see lashes when you close your eyes??? Do they go into your eyeball or something?
This is really not to do with make up, but I remember uploading a video with a caption about being an emo, and the amount of backlash I received because I didn’t have the stereotypical “emo” look was insane. I genuinely go by alternative now to try to stay away from any more of the hate. Stereotypes are bs and I wish people would stop using them to make others feel like crap.
as someone who does pien/jirai makeup, it does NOT look amazing irl. it's lots of red/dark pink under eyes and making your eyes bigger (not in a racist way), usually to look sad or like you've been crying. it looks lovely on camera with filters, but irl it looks a little silly, but i dont care!!!! i enjoy doing my makeup all fun and blushy and overexaggerated. i unfortunately have no other jirais in my town (as far as i know) so i get laughed at, but again I dont care! i'm young and i'm having fun so when i'm older i wont regret a thing!

True, I think brown lip liner is one of the most stunning things
You can tell that lady knows nothing about makeup and how it applies to different skin tones. It's well known that people with darker complexions use this method as a way to make certain lipstick shades work for their skintone.
She said that because she thinks looking Eurocentric is the right way. Brown/black women line their lips and accentuate them because that’s their beauty standards. That’s natural to them and that makes them beautiful.

Ah, yes! Because elegance is following this random woman on tiktok’s standards. I feel so sorry for girls and women that are looking up to her
True elegance is seeing everyone and yourself as beauty, no matter how different because we feel comfortable in our own skin unapologetically for ourselves, not for men or society.
This adds to the list why I hate TikTok
Of course not
I know that one of the "rules" of elegant people is to not be bitter... so according to her own logic she herself is not very elegant except in appearance maybe, but being superficial is not elegant either so yeah this tiktok is very hypocritical

Those "gurus" brainwash women/men that to be loved you need to act/look as they tell you, in reality everyone has their taste, not all men/women think the same. The elegance and following elegant strict rules is modern slavery for rich people.

Big eyebrows and lips are currently the beauty standard in the USA and plenty of very classy women are looking to achieve that.

i fucking love you're channel seriously you say exactly what im thinking and telling people to rightfully fuck off is hilarious
as someone who does pien/jirai makeup, it does NOT look amazing irl. it's lots of red/dark pink under eyes and making your eyes bigger (not in a racist way), usually to look sad or like you've been crying. it looks lovely on camera with filters, but irl it looks a little silly, but i dont care!!!! i enjoy doing my makeup all fun and blushy and overexaggerated. i unfortunately have no other jirais in my town (as far as i know) so i get laughed at, but again I dont care! i'm young and i'm having fun so when i'm older i wont regret a thing!
“An unnecessary amount of makeup” um. Any amount of makeup is unnecessary because makeup is not a necessity, so there is no such thing as an “unnecessary amount of makeup”
"I CaN MaKe YoU lOoK eLeGaNt" girl, i don't wanna look elegant, i wanna look GOOD. i wanna look like Kaitlyn (? sorry, I don't know how to spell her name.) SHE looks amazing! i wanna look like her. Idc about that "minimalist" style or "preppy" style. I don't wanna look preppy, i wanna look GOOD
Instead of using other people's photos why doesn't she just do her own tutorial like wtf?? She just criticizes others but won't show what she looks like bare-faced lol. This is so useless 🙄
The only thing I'm staring at is the kitten the background
Thank you for making this video. I’m insecure because whenever I do makeup for self expression, my family tells me that it’s “too much”, so I project this insecurity onto others by saying that their makeup is “too much”. This video is a huge wake up call for me to try to improve my behavior, thank you
It is funny how natural makeup is just makeup men can't see, like natural makeup is fun and all but sometimes i wanna wear blue mascara, or bronze the shit out of my face, or line my lips with brown lip liner. Everyone is different but it feels like she wants us to all be the same, I understand we all have opinions but opinions are like buttholes everyone has them and some stink. So therefore everyone should follow what they enjoy instead of following some people to show or tell you what to do.
This TikTok person saying wearing a lot of makeup makes you look insecure with a filter on her face is just aaaaAA11_!_!_!!?!!?
Also, Kaytlyn, I love your sincerity and (sorry if it sounds weird) your facial expressions! Keep doing what you're doing, please! I've only been following your for a month but I don't think there's been a vid of yours so far that I've watched and didn't like.
She's the female Andrew Tate with less crimes and screaming
me sitting here doing cosplay makeup and listening to the video, questioning what the other woman is yapping about
There’s not just one way to do makeup… this is just an an expression and there’s no right or wrong way to go about it… it is also irritating when people say “you look better without makeup”
I love RUclips commentary and I can’t believe I’ve never seen your channel before. I enjoy your humor but also your raw personality. Side notes but your cat back there is so cute. I was wondering what breathing over there 🐈⬛🖤
Reasons I hate Tik tok 101:
It's not even tiktok. It's the annoying people who think everyone should act like them, think like them and be exactly like them. Elitist ideology 😒
You’re hands down my new favorite channel, and your videos alone help me to remember that I just need to dress and do my makeup the way I personally want to, and f**k everyone else who has a harsh opinion about my looks 😂❤
Same! I fucking live for Drama Kweens content! ❤
As someone who is slightly overweight with broad shoulders I feel super ugly all the time. I hate my natural hair so I wear wigs and have been eating less but I always end up eating way more
I’m going to try being more active because I really hate being overweight because of things like this.
9:05 I honestly think the way the lashes stand out when people close there eyes is just gorgeous. Like look at pictures of lana del rey where she's looking down and her eyes are closed, look at the liner and the lashes just UGH IT'S ACTUALLY BEAUTIFUL TO ME WHAT IS THIS LADY TALKING ABOUT
I used to have a friend that wore makeup. It was SOOOOO Obvious that she was wearing any. Now I was in FIFTH GRADE. Everyone made fun of her for it. But not the popular ppl. Bc their SOOO SPECIAL
