I must say that I much prefer the new way the show gets started.
I used to start watching with my laptop volume low until the shouting, whooping & hollering ended, this may just be a me thing but I feel that "love podcasts hate ...." comes across much better when spoken quietly (no idea why I feel that way).

Apathy is definitely a worry and I've got a sister who says she doesn't vote because she thinks they all are bad. I'm going to really try to talk to her and hopefully make her understand that if she doesn't vote she isn't helping any of the problems in her life. We need to really tell Tories what the country thinks of them to hopefully shame them into action of change.
Taking part in this sham of a democracy is an even bigger problem
Maybe show her the latest video from A Different Bias? Perhaps that one can break through?
Or vote for a smaller party, or an independent
Even if they don't win, the size of that vote _does_ influence policy in the big parties
Or she could spoil her ballot
unfortunately she is just completely jaded and apathetic for politics and truly believe they all are bad as each other. She's got kids and two jobs so she just picks up information from our right wing media without understand the bias there.
My idea right now is to start pushing her when the election is called and let her know that if she doesn't vote I'll point it out every time she mentioned anything about the state of things. She honestly doesn't understand that not voting means she's technically voted for Tories every time and so is part of the problem we are in.
This might not be the best approach but I also know trying to have a proper conversation about it also won't work as she's stubborn and seemingly doesn't listen to her brother who actually follows politics.

Life can be VERY short if well organised.
a "cut and shut" is not stolen cars, it is when you get 2 cars written off in accidents, say one had a front smashed and the other had its rear smashed. Rather than write them both off, you take the 2 undamaged halves and weld them together to make a whole car... completely illegal and extremely dangerous since the chassis is almost always compromised.
