"I was rich back then, I had so many friends, I had my mom. She took care of us and we were happy."
That part hit something different.
I'm in tears, man.
You can see him choking back tears. Broke my heart.
He literally tried his best to not cry on that part, W Asmon
Wow, possibly the most profound statement and sentiment hes ever said. So much self-awareness on what he had and has lost since then. Its the living example of "money can't buy you happiness". I am sure Zack is happy to have the wealth he has, but I bet he would trade it all away for one more day with his mom and friends back then. There are some times back then I"d go back for a day at least, I do think my life is better now though in a number of ways.

I feel that man. My dad died of Covid at the start of 2021 and my mom developed dementia at the same time.
Since then I’ve lost 75 lbs and improved my health and career.
I would give anything to go back to having dinner with my parents eating fried fish and French fries every night, relaxing with my dad, gaming, and talking with my mom
You sound like a good person. I hope you’re doing well my friend
Stay strong brotha
Hey mate, I feel you too. My dad died in 2020, and my mother passed away from Alzheimer's in December 2023. My firstborn is on the way, and now I miss them even more. As Asmongold rightly says: 'I was rich back then. They took care of me, and I had many friends.' I would do anything to be with them again. It was a good life.
Keep going man, only you can keep their memory alive. Fk life, spite it by moving forward
God bless you, man.
Asmon helped his friend do chores, questing for his friend's copy of WoW. That's so wholesome.
Mom played WoW and made them cupcakes.
He doesn't know how good he had it.
No amount of money can buy that back.
We used to beat each other with wooden katanas and kendo sticks. So many bruised knuckles.
My mom wouldn't quit smoking either and she died from cancer in 2006.
Mom was the OG that beat the water level in TMNT on NES and then took us to McDonald's breakfast at 3 am when we were little.

Truth, Asmongold is a good man-
many of us feel the same way and its sad. I dont know if its a testament of the current state of the world, or being young, ignorant and carefree, maybe both, but its grim.

Unmarried, working in IB, two degrees, second career, and listening to asmon on the desk during Lunch. Bro I wish I could get hype about WoW again. I would never be able to put in the hours but god dang. classic wow was so good.
My mom is no longer with us, but she loved hearing me talk about WoW and the books she’d buy me. My dad never supported video games like that but he enjoyed the stories I’d tell him and the “wars” my RPPVP would have (we are both vets now, but my dad found the scale of World PVP and the tactics insanely cool)
Got a bit emotional at the end there when I heard you say you were the richest you'd ever been at that time. Understanding that monetary wealth isn't everything, you have that now, way more than you did back then, but you were still richer in other ways. So many similarities between me and my own group of friends. I still hang out with one or two of them every once in a while, but it will never be like it was. While you're living it, you have no idea it's the best time of your life, you take everything for granted. I'm almost 40 now... where did the time go?
The future holds good times too matey, theyre just going to be different. Just as long as you can still be happy and enjoy things. 👍
My uncle and I were having a conversation about how maybe we're not meant to live forever because we slowly just lose that joy we once had for life, and how the world just sort of moves on without you and you begin to not understand it anymore.
The only thing I can think of to keep life meaningful and joyful is to raise a family. I guess... to literally do what we're meant to do as living beings.
Asmon's mum lived the life she wanted and gave no f**ks. Respect. ❤
Respect?😂 for what? I would never let my child live in a filthy room for 20hrs a day in his own stench and cockroaches. I give my children time so they dont have to live such degenerate life. Just because he is the 0.001% and Lucky to make all this money basicly by destroying his own life without himself realising it.. To each his own i guess😂 what a way to give respect.
She gave up on life. Respect

Man, you triggered some weirdos here...
The nostalgia is real for early wow. Life was seriously good. We were super lucky to live through the 90's and 2000's.
Amen.
Saw a great video that explained how we as humans prefer the chase much more than the reward.
Wows the same way, when you get all the best gear you just kinda stand there in cities. I figure that's why I had so much time as a kid inspecting these gigs chads - they literally were NOT playing the game in iron forge.
Games like this are incredible for younger people with their whole lives ahead of them. You're constantly setting and checking off goals faster than you ever could in real life.
We thought it was fun because our personal lives had a level of mystery and potential that matched this brand new living-world-online game. Way more fun when you're not expected to be an autist about how your fishing recipes tie to a +2 endgame trinket. Absolutely zero fun at that point.

You can’t go back though. Go live your life. Hold onto the memories.
I loved wow, but it did not hold me for nearly as long. I did get whatever the best rep in pvp was in vanilla. Warchief I think. Scarlet Crusade, Necrana. Then I came back during WOTLC and owned the scarlet crusade ah while multiboxing death knights. It was like hard drugs for me, a weekend of doing em and I am g2g for a long long time.

0:42 I only recently noticed that my PC doesn't have a disk drive. Feels weird.
I'll never forget when we upgraded from a Pentium 1 to a Pentium 2. It still didn't have a graphics card, but it had a disc drive, a floppy drive, and a ZIP drive.
This was before there were any emulation laws so downloading ROMs was as simple and clean as launching Steam. No sketchy/wonky sites.
I had a giant box of ZIP discs packed with ROMs of the entire SNES library and felt like I was living in the year 2080.
I still have mine in my tower. It's not plugged up, but I can always swap a sata cable over if the time ever comes. It's probably still the same drive from my quad core Phenom II build. That thing has been through a Phenom II, i5 ivy bridge 3470, i7 devils canyon 4790k, Ryzen 3600, Ryzen 5900x, Radeon HD 4870, 2gb Radeon HD 6950, GTX 980, RTX 3060, and 4080 super. Installing windows 8 from a disk is probably the last time I actually used it. I was baffled the first time I cracked a game and was able to run it without inserting the disk. Man, the last minute of this video hits like a Train...
Bro why does a video like this come out every year with a different style where we take a crazy leap down memory lane..
Im 27 but god damn i wish was 10 again jumping into WoW and getting that indescribable epic and excited feeling.
*DAMN I WANNA GO BACK*
Eyy this video hits hard, me and my brother grew up playing Xbox (starting with Halo).
But then one of our friends told us to try world of warcraft, we were 11 and 12 back then so we had no fkn idea what we were doing in WoW.
However, we didn't have a pc at all at the time that was capable of running wow, so me and my brother started selling newspapers in our neighborhood. We worked hard and we finally got the pc we needed.
Our mom was kind enough to give us money for the game and gave us money for a subscription too.
We started up the game and it was so cool starting the game for the first time!
The cinematic when u open up the game for the first time was so cool, the music was amazing, me and my brother was probably sitting there almost an hour trying to figure out what kind of character we were gonna create.
I still remember my first character, a Tauren Warrior (I still have it to this day), it felt like a living world to run around in, killing those plainstriders and boars, collecting gold and trying to figure out quests (we also got a tip from players in-game to use thotbot).
Me and my brother had this eggtimer next to the computer, so we took 1hour turns. With rules and stuff, for example like if we joined a dungeon we let eachother finish the dungeon even if the time ran out on the eggtimer.
World of Warcraft have given me so many good memories, shard so many fun times with friends and my brother playing the game, and we still talk about those days even now 20years later.
All of us are now grown up, some even have families and different lives.
But we always seem to return to those days, talking about how good they were and how fun we had playing WoW.
Now those days are just memories, but they are good memories that will stay with me forever.
Even though I don't like what WoW has become now, or games overall.
The time I had in WoW will always be remembered.

No matter what and how much I ate, I couldn't gain or lose more than 10 lbs... and I did try. I had a fast metabolism. I used to be able to down a whole large pizza, and nothing. Wasn't until I quit smoking, a 22 year long bad habit, just b4 I turned 40... the year or so after I suddenly gained 35-40 lbs within a few month period. Now my belly is bigger than my chest for the first time in my life (dad bod ftw), and now stand 5'11" at 230 lbs, 8 years later. Now, I feel fat. Partly also because I stopped working out long ago, so most of that muscle weight was replaced with fat. Being disabled doesn't help, as for the last 14 years I am only about 1% as active as I was. People think they were going out of their minds when the lockdown hit... as a workaholic, that enjoyed 50-60 hr work weeks, who since 2010 am only able to get up and around for food and hygiene purposes, regularly. I do get to go to the store once or twice a month, and medical procedures twice a year. So there's that to look forward to. I do eat less, and don't hardly ever drink anymore, but I don't move.
10:00 Smoking is the worst mistake you can ever make. Let me put this into perspective for anyone who doesn't know.... I am an addict. Smoking and vaping (vaping mostly now, which is almost worse than cigs) and when I was 17, I became addicted to hero-ine. So did mamy of my friends. We grew up bad. Anyways, I have been clean now for over a decade. Many of my friends who did it are also many years clean now. The ONE thing I and all my friends have been unable to quit... is fcking nicotine. Hard dr*gs are easier to quit than nicotine. It's literally the worst choice could ever make, to pick up a smoking/vaping habit.
100% agree. I quit alcohol no problem. I quit opioids no problem. Nicotine is borderline impossible.
I did at least switch to pouches so I'm not killing my lungs, but it kills my wallet.
When I started, Zyn was like $2 per can. After COVID it jumped to $10 per can. My $60 per month habit became a $300 per month habit even though my consumption didn't increase at all.
Heroin not heroine how come people who use heroin can't even spell it? Didn't know what zyn was until I googled it and that's disgusting.
@@minners71 It's not as disgusting as dip. It's basically dip without tobacco, so you can swallow it and not have to walk around spitting like a camel.
@minners71 It really doesn't matter how it's spelled, that's not what's important. I spelled it that way and added the hyphen so that YT wouldn't take down my comment for talking about hard dr*gs.
Edit - Also, I don't use it anymore. Like I said, I've been clean a long while now.
@yoyoshoujo damn, that's insane! I've never heard of zyn, I guess I'll have to look that up. I hardly smoke cigs anymore, but I still vape and it's awful. I honestly wish I had never begun vaping. My best friend says her vape is like a binky is for a toddler - it ALWAYS has to be in the hand. I'm not quite that bad lol but vape is definitely more addictive than cigs ever were for me. But, they are both nicotine poison and both are horrible for the lungs. I do hope to quit. I hope you can achieve that too, if that's your goal! :)

Heres to ZACK'S MOM
Yes! I grew up having mudball wars (with rocks embedded) bottle rocket launching at each other from opposite sides of the creek. Turned hair spray bottles into flamethrowers. The classics. Great times.
There was a nature preserve behind my neighborhood with a small pond. My friends and I used to have what we called Cattail Wars. We’d pull cattails up from their stalk and use them as javelins. We’d also use the tops as hand grenades. If you give the cattail top a small twist it arms it so that when you throw it at someone it explodes.
This turned into a really emotional video! Love to you and your moms and your dad.
2:06 'Until now you've only seen tiny people like Dwarves Elves and Tyler1' I burst out laughing! 😂👌
