New Air Force One Jets Now Put Boeing $2 Billion In The Red

- It's typically not a surprise when large projects come in behind schedule and over budget. However, the 'new' modified Boeing 747-8i Air Force One aircraft (designated VC-25Bs) takes this trend to another level. Responsible for seeing the project to completion for the United States Air Force (USAF), Boeing recently reported further losses on this fixed-cost contract.

+70 years of Boeing lobby in defense- weapons, sales, billions in profits. Don't worry 😌😉
How about holding the former CEO accountable for his incompetence?
Ironic that it would’ve been cheaper to build two new AF1s from scratch instead of converting two civilian white tails.
Exactly. Bad move but Trump is known for
@@johniii8147Agreed! 😂
@@johniii8147 Bad for Boeing, good for us taxpayers
They will just print more money from thin air and steal tax money
@@chrispopovich700 is it?
I love fixed cost contracts. Serves Boeing right for years of overcharging the government on their military contracts.
100% correct. Fixed cost is the only way to go now. Hold the CEO and management accountable for the losses incurred. Boeing's lost more money and goodwill from the 737 Max fiasco than they'll ever lose from the Air Force One contract.
All defense contractors stick it to the taxpayers. They own the vast majority of our elected representatives. That’s why the Congress ALWAYS authorizes higher defense spending budgets than the President or the Pentagon even request! It reeks of corruption. To top it all off, the Congress hasn’t declared war since WWII, and Washington has been involved in many, many wars. Why impose any accountability when it can be avoided? They’re crooks!
The profits over safety really backfired.
With the amount of favors the US Government has done for Boeing (saving Boeing billions throughout their existence) Boeing should shut their mouths and deliver the aircraft at whatever the cost and loss to them......
I hope the classic paint scheme remains.
It needed updating…Jackie Kennedy picked that scheme
It will albeit slightly modified due to the material the aircraft is made out of.
@@BullGator-kd6ge 😂😂😂😂
Something tells me 10 cent bolts are being upsold to 5 dollars
$5? Probably $5,000 each. That's what they wanted for bolts for some fighter jets.
The cost to renovate is significantly higher than the cost to build. Boeing should never have agreed to this fixed prince contract.
He openly said he felt threatened by Trump if he went against this disaster.
When the new Air Force 1 is launched, I call dibs on the old 1.
there is two so I call dibs on the tail number 28000! lol
They write it off in taxes. I expect they may have already written some of it off.
Iconic Being 747!!!
Why are they so expensive? What technology and interiors are going into them to make them that expensive?
Highly classified military technology
And you will NEVER know
They will be fine! All contracts should be fixed cost
The True Champions of Corporate Welfare !!
These jets are so expensive because of the electronic warfare capabilities that are built into the airplane. They are probably the F-35 block 4 upgrades.
And 4 brand new more! ☝️🇺🇸
This is so incredible iron!
Whut
Stay safe Mr President. FlyAirbus😂
Wdym by "In the red"
Losses.
overbudget
747 for us gouvernement
point being?
point being?
POTUS FLY COMMERCIAL!
air force one is very expensive
It would’ve been both cheaper to do and have lower opening costs to use modified 777-300ER’s at this point
Requirement was for 4 engines
@@johniii8147They’ve really got to move on from that someday
It was between the Airbus A-380 and the Boeing 747-8 because of the four engine requirement. Personally I think the 747-8 is one gorgeous airplane and with the classic livery simply gorgeous with the curves of body, wings and paint
Okay.
I think Boeing should have suppliers within the American borders... Stretching to other countries has cost Boeing dearly...
Its all about tax write offs...
If Boeing is whining about it they should go to Airbus!
Art of the deal 😂
Airbus
The airframe has little to do with the cost overruns. They rip most everything out.
I get the feeling they are just playing accounting games to better negotiate the service contract
In the red refers to the deal it had with Trump
Looks like Trump saved the American taxpayers $2 Billion on this deal.
😂and the war machine improved??😅
Actually counting the original $1.4B rebate it comes down to $3.4B savings for the taxpayer.
@@menedoffou6982 which is absolutely nothing in the federal budget. .000001%. That was all grandstanding by Trump to make himself look good.
@@johniii8147So would u rather us have payed more for it 😂
@@jyrionbell848 Yes actually if was done right.
So, what are you saying about to me in Air Force One?
First delivery 2027? Joke! Taken too long and taking even longer. I wonder if Boeing is just doing this on purposely seeking extra funds to speed up the process????
These will be flying into the 2050s and look really archaic by then...
The Presidential jets tend to be based off of proven technology. Only the stuff inside like communications is cutting edge.
The current ones were when H.W was president. That would be about 40 years.
Should’ve gone with Airbus 🤣
I think Boeing is dying. It can’t seem to finish aircraft anymore. So sad.
Boeing should never have agreed to Trumps deal but then that management team knew little about aircraft just Wall Street.
Ask Airbus next time…😅
Why couldn’t Boeing just pull out
The CEO of Boeing openly stated he felt threatened by Trump and had to take the bad deal or lose more in government defense contracts.
And who saved the American People $2 BILLION DOLLARS...President Trump!
Bankrupting companies is not good business from government!
That’s what Boeing gets for dealing with the devil 😈
President Trump strikes again, saving tax payers more than $2 billion dollars just on this one thing.
All this for just two extra engines
Convert 2 C5 Galaxy for less.
first
Shut it
So both Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Will not get to fly on the new Air Force One. I hope that the new president of the united states of America in 2028 is Ron DeSantis.
Caused by incompetence of Donald Trump
Sounds like Trump saved Americans money. All the excuses Boeing gave except for the engineering changes happened during the Pandemic shutdown and well into the Biden administration.
Huh?
His “incompetence” just saved the taxpayers $2 billion
@@pietro_valente Wow, logic abounds.
@@pietro_valente but incompetent to not pay the full correct amount for goods regardless
