- 🚀 Ready to unlock the full visual potential of Starfield? Watch this step-by-step tutorial to learn how to force recompile shaders, ensuring a smoother gameplay experience! In Starfield, shader compilation issues can lead to graphical glitches and performance hiccups. Whether you're an NVIDIA or AMD user, we've got you covered.
For NVIDIA users, we'll show you how to clear the DX Cache and tweak settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel to jumpstart the shader recompilation process. AMD users, don't worry, we've got your back too! We'll guide you through accessing and resetting the shader cache via Radeon Software.
Worked great for me
0:21 That's not where Nvidia is storing the DXCache anymore
%AppData%\LocalLow\NVIDIA\DXCache
Was about to say the same thing. Great video anyway :)
I did this for my AMD system and finally something that permanently fix the stutter/lag I had.
Whatever else settings I changed like running in bordered window only worked for a while then it came creeping back.
But for me the game did not rebuild the shaders after, it just worked like when I started the game first time smooth and I can use whatever settings I want. Thanks.
Found this video when trying to look for solutions to try to get the game to not cook my 3080Ti while it's running lmao. But my DXCache folder is empty when I went to go check it. However, I did delete the Pipeline.cache file so I'm hoping that will help. I do believe I have the founders edition style 3080Ti and I've always heard those don't usually have the best cooling as a large majority of newer games tend to make my GPU run at around 85-90C even with lowered settings so I think I may need to have the thermal padding redone on my GPU here soon.
