Hello, i have a 3070 and this game seems to be capped to 30fps, or atleast it seems to be stuck at that number and never going below 30 it's a 100% stable 30fps so my gpu should definitely be able to push more fps but no Matter what settings i put and even if i pert Nvidia control panel to use highest refresh rate possible the game stays at 30fps and it's just unplayable
that is v-sync without triple buffering. It means your fps will stick to the next divisible x2 number. You are probably in a 60 hz monitor and it goes to 30 if it can reach 60 stable...
I would also highly recommend to those who have rtx GPUs to download and install the DLSS mod to your game as it will implement DLSS over the FSR2 you will notice the FPS increase as well!
Thanks, so much man this helped so much! Like night and day difference went from 30 40fps on high settings to like 50 and up was hitting 90 fps in some areas and sensitivity helped as well great video
but it depents what GPU, CPU, and RAM you have BIG TIME i think the best way is wehn you have a nividia gpu to juste geforce experiance and make the first settings from starfield to optemize via geforce experiance and then test it and after every change you make test it it takes some time but then you see what option have a good or bad impact and you lern how to do it for further games. but Great video
I switched back, the game looked horrible with these settings. Love the other vids, feels like this one sacrifices too much quality for fps. I have a 3090 though
with a g-sync monitor you can leave v-sync off as it actually lowers and raises ur refresh rate of the monitor to match your fps so you dont get screen tearing. i use a gsync monitor and have never got screen tearing and i also never have v-sync on. thanks for the tips helped a lot with my fps
side note, you actually can get screen tearing with a gsync monitor if your framrate exceeds the max refresh of the monitor which is where you would use either an adaptive vsync from the nvidia control panel that only vsync's when fps exceeds refresh or my personal favorite is frame limit rendering to a few frames less than max so gsync is always active.
I would add though if you have massive swings in fps lock it to the lowest average so go to the busiest space find that and lock it for the program in the control panel like for my rig I can run it uncapped and see 30 to 60 ultra preset so for stability of the feel I cap it at 30 for the hell ofnit and its just fine is it better at 60 sure is fps dips more annoying than locked 30? Absolutely
I found 100% render resolution, CAS @ 70%, high setting for all (except motion blur, film grain, and dof). Looks so much better with 100% render and CAS if you have the hardware. 5800x3d / 4080 and runs at 70-100fps
lol the render resolution is meant to be used with AMD FSR. When you turn AMD FSR on you can set the render resolution instead of the older style "quality, balanced, performance" options we have on some other games. I figured this out in like 2 mins, but I know a lot about FSR and DLSS already so this may not be obvious to more casual gamers. When playing at 4k on a 3090, I still need my render resolution at 50% with amd FSR, which isn't very bad tbh.
Yeah I realised this in retrospect. Never seen this implementation before but I like that they've given us the option. They definitely should make it more instantly obvious in the settings though.

As someone who has played videogames my whole life with low budget computers, Do not fear the word "Low", We assume that it means compromise to something bad for quality, even tho the low doesnt always mean that its compromised, its just a word for the lowest setting even when its not really removing the quality to the point that we even see whats bad.
No joke, watch the Hardware Unboxed video where they compare of all these settings. I promise it's wild how little things visually change from Ultra to High to Medium. Wilder still -- the performance gains. Personally, I don't agree that FSR2 has been great in this game, everything looks fuzzy and leaves behind shadowy artifacts.

Hello, i have a 3070 and this game seems to be capped to 30fps, or atleast it seems to be stuck at that number and never going below 30 it's a 100% stable 30fps so my gpu should definitely be able to push more fps but no Matter what settings i put and even if i pert Nvidia control panel to use highest refresh rate possible the game stays at 30fps and it's just unplayable
did youı try to turn-off vsync? Most games lock vsync to 60 fps but starfield is weird one maybe they lock it to 30fps.
And I want to lower the fps because I'm locked at 60 😅
@@guillefranco31 Why on earth would you wanna lower your framerate?
???@@guillefranco31
that is v-sync without triple buffering. It means your fps will stick to the next divisible x2 number. You are probably in a 60 hz monitor and it goes to 30 if it can reach 60 stable...
Can't turn off anti aliasing and no texture quality option, wtf
The settings menu is bad, where's the independent texture setting etc.
thx
Yea this game runs like shit. 3070 ti and the dlss fix barely helps
Finally a game I can challenge my 4090 on
That 10min mark for the video lol
If you're not gonna show us the FPS of before and after , please change the thumbnail of your video saying you got 144fps I got baited by that
Mine is already in the lowest settings but i still get 20 fps max
I would also highly recommend to those who have rtx GPUs to download and install the DLSS mod to your game as it will implement DLSS over the FSR2 you will notice the FPS increase as well!
is there a video guide tot his too?
@@jadenisiah I honestly followed the instructions from the nexusmods if you need the link I can give you that! Or if you need assistance with it
@@jadenisiahit's so easy to do a gorilla could do it it's literally on the mod page
I found it made little to no difference and made distant objects far more blurry. I'll just wait for official implementation
Thanks mate using these settings now 😊
Your amazing thanks man! 😃
Welcome to 2023, where you, as the owner of an f-ing 3090, better just set every graphics setting to low... Well done, Bethesda!
How do I fix this
Thanks, so much man this helped so much! Like night and day difference went from 30 40fps on high settings to like 50 and up was hitting 90 fps in some areas and sensitivity helped as well great video
Nicely done Sir, straight to the point and factual.
but it depents what GPU, CPU, and RAM you have BIG TIME i think the best way is wehn you have a nividia gpu to juste geforce experiance and make the first settings from starfield to optemize via geforce experiance and then test it and after every change you make test it it takes some time but then you see what option have a good or bad impact and you lern how to do it for further games. but Great video
So if i set in low all the setting the game runs better?? WWWOOOWWWW.
still at 4K res rtx 2080ti 47 fps in open areas
Newer saw such bad graphics quality game before on 1440p. Went trough all settings, still all textures like grainy fog coated
we need an uupdate on this as DLSS just came out, out of the beta! :P
Quick and simple guide, thank you good sir.
My started to to speed to 60 then drops down to 49 fps
you lost me at "FSR2 is better then DLSS"... *Facepalm*
17 7700k and a 1080 I’m on low everything and it’s ass to run gonna have to get a new pc just to play this game
Hey man thank you for providing me with a good baseline to work with!
sucks I'll have to spend like 800 dollars to replace my 1660 Super and Ryzen 5 3600 just to play this game but oh well
Thank you so much.
Didn't even show what fps he was getting on his computer or what was in his computer
I switched back, the game looked horrible with these settings. Love the other vids, feels like this one sacrifices too much quality for fps. I have a 3090 though
From what ive seen the main problem is cpu usage not gpu
Yeah it seems kinda stuck between 40 and 50.
Not gonna lie dude I’d remake this video. He kind of just suggested to make the thing look like a potato.
my gtx 1070 is about a have a field day
with a g-sync monitor you can leave v-sync off as it actually lowers and raises ur refresh rate of the monitor to match your fps so you dont get screen tearing. i use a gsync monitor and have never got screen tearing and i also never have v-sync on. thanks for the tips helped a lot with my fps
Cool tips , i need to try this . Currently i have 60-80 fps but feels not so smooth .
side note, you actually can get screen tearing with a gsync monitor if your framrate exceeds the max refresh of the monitor which is where you would use either an adaptive vsync from the nvidia control panel that only vsync's when fps exceeds refresh or my personal favorite is frame limit rendering to a few frames less than max so gsync is always active.
@ArcAios26 I did not know you could get screen tearing a g sync monitor if your fps exceeds you refresh rate. Thank you for the tip 👍
Absolutely
games unplayable for me keeps skipping and audio cuts out bout to uninstall
I found 100% render resolution, CAS @ 70%, high setting for all (except motion blur, film grain, and dof). Looks so much better with 100% render and CAS if you have the hardware.
5800x3d / 4080 and runs at 70-100fps
on 1080p?
@@xxxJustGIOxxx 1400p Ultrawide (3440x1440)
lol the render resolution is meant to be used with AMD FSR.
75% render scale at 1440p with FSR on should be 1080p internal rendering which I'm pretty sure is the equivalent of 'quality' mode.@@FourEyesGames
This is all making me super nervous. My laptop is i7 12650 16gb ram and 3050ti. I’m just hoping for 60fps at 1080p on medium settings. Any chance I’ll get that??!!
Pray for stable 30fps on low my friend.
@@looming_ I hope that is a little tongue-in-cheek. I hope Bethesda has something in mind to fix this issue. Absurd to think that you need to have $1000 computer in order to play anything at medium. Than shame on them.
@@scottmersereau4816 not kidding at all sadly.
Impossible. You can get barely 30 fps at New Atlantis.
Looking at these comments. And I can already tell it’s not gonna run well on my rig. Ryzen 3700x 6800xt gpu on 1440
Nah, on amd it runs much better and 6800xt is nice card, and cpu is enough. U will het nice experience. Download latest amd driver. I say this as ncrapia owner
Put everything on ultra 😱
If you have a 2070, as I do, than your gaming experience with this game's performance will be horrible.
This dude is him warzone battlebit it doesn't matter he's dropping a best settings guide
Yes if you put all in low runs better....
thank you for the help. a lot of the display settings looked kind of obvious to me but there were a few that i didn't realize were screwing with performance. i have similar specs to you and my pc runs every other game insanely smooth but this game isn't optimized very well.
put a mfing side by side of the before and after
I have a 5950X and a 3090. I dont really want to turn down most options to low to get a playable framerate (for me at least stable 60 FPS). I decided to wait what patches will bring for optimization. Maybe they add FSR 3 after it launched. It´s a sp game and I dont miss anything until I start it. I play ME Andromeda with mods atm. Lies of P and Lords of the Fallen are near too.
@@pablomarquez5021oh yes fsr is a joke in this game. Literally didn’t help me at all. All my settings are on high and I’m just dealing with the bad frames. They have a 15 gb update tmr for launch day so I’m expecting it to run much better. I’ll be pissed if it doesn’t
What is your specs.
In description
I have a 1080p monitor and it looks sooooo terrible even on ultra settings. They basically just build on 4K or uhd monitors. It’s really funny that everyone else is kinda thrown over board. Yea you can turn fidelity fx on but honestly that makes the game rather look like a stream and I don’t enjoy that. Your settings may be fine in your monitor but for me on 1080p look still terrible. 😢
I have an old pc I7 6700k xr 6700xt 1440p 65 fbs with 32 gb , game runs good no problems i"m running it on med setting
does anyone know how to make it so when you tab out the game still runs and doesn't auto pause that would b great fr
I have all ticked checked except for my memory ram which is 6gb and I’m only using an MSI gaming laptop cause I couldn’t afford a pc set up yet I was able to run the game but it usually freezes (not as bad as diablo 4 though) but yeah is there anything else I could do? Weirdly enough the performance got better when I increased the graphics just like what happened on Remnant 2 for me the lower the settings are the more the game performs worse.
Sounds to me like your CPU is the bottleneck here. When youre increasing the graphics youre offloading that processing to the GPU. Hope that makes sense.
1.25 PLAY SPEED IS NEEDED...
hello i have this game maxed out in 4k and getting around 45 fps is this good for a 3080ti and a ryzen 7 5800x is there other things i could do to get to 60 or is 45 good for this game if i got it to look good
I have it maxed out at 4k on a 4080 and can barely hit 60fps. Average is in the low to mid 50s. So I’d say you’re fine lol
@@ak740_ thanks next year I’m working on upgrading the cpu motherboard and gpu eventually
I'd say that's a fairly good result at 4K given how bad the optimization ín triple A titles is these days.
it actually helped all i need now is for them to add dlss or optimize it a little and ill always be over 60 fps
You can mod in DLSS. Gonna test later and make a video
I did it I added dlss and then got it to dlss 2 and its really good.
