    It is WONDERFUL to see what you have done to the Sigma! I love how you moved the filament out of the printer.

    Excellent wrap up on the Sigma, and your upgrades sound like they really improved the printer. Thanks for sharing this and for sharing the profiles to the other Sigma owners.

    Nice and interesting video for Sigma users. Anyhow ... i would like to see more "smaller" modifications (for normal users) which is improving the Sigma. Most of the users do not want to spent additional money to replace extruder, feeder stepper, etc.

    Nice video! Extruders out, noise out.
    We're working hard to reduce the overall noise of the printer. News soon.

    Very good video. I have been enjoying my Sigma for a couple of weeks now but have had issues with PolyMaker filament being oversized and causing issues. The other filaments are working great though.
    I don't have my profiles tuned as well as yours so look forward to seeing the differences you have. :)
    Keep up the great work!

    Holy smoke that's a big roll of filament.. :-) Would love to hear the machine with your extruder relocation mod. In Joel's review that sucker was loud.

      +RJ_Make Yea, it's the retraction clunk that you notice in the original location, now much more family friendly.

    Very interesting changes, hadn't considered changing spools could be awkward. Shame about the noise, is it not possible for them to mount the stepper motors on a bit of rubber sheeting to dampen the vibration? Guess you've basically got a little echo chamber or amplifier there!

    Thank you for sharing the Simplify3D profile, as I'm an owner of the software and until "soon," I have no printer with which to use the software. Soon means I'll be taking delivery of a Sigma, in part thanks to your reviews. It's all the more useful with your profile sharing.
    You suggested in the video a link to an E3D hotend mount, but I don't see that in the text for the video. Is there one available?
    Thanks again.

    Hi Richard. Great review! I have my sigma for about a week now, and experiencing some quality issues with some materials. Do you mind sharing the e3d v6 parts you made?
    Thanks

    Hey Richard, nice video on the BCN3D sigma, that's what brought me here. I'm working on my own dual x carriage printer right now, and it's fine and everything, but I really need to put some custom g-code after every tool change. Simplify3d only lets me insert codes befor toolchange, I'm close to give up on simplify3d and find some post processing method to insert my purging settings whenever a T0 or T1 G-code goes out. You mentioned some methods that can help, can you help pointing me in the right direction?

    As you had the Poetry Infinity and the Sigma now, could you maybe tell me which one is less noisy in your opinion (without modification)?

    Hi
    I have a BCN3D Sigma and i really want to do what you did.
    I have just wanted to ask how do you get the motors off the back of the printer.
    Please reply
    Thanks

    I wonder if the resting head of one of these new style printers could have a spinning part under the nozzle to remove leaky filament?

    • @hexiumcoza
      @hexiumcoza 8 лет назад +2

      it already has a mechanism to remove leaked filament when it exits the parked area. Not sure how well it works though

    • @RichRap3D
      @RichRap3D  8 лет назад +1

      +Pieter Swart Yes, the noodle traps work well, a silicone rubber strip wipes the nozzle every time it docks. but the noodle pot fills up in just a few hours of a complex dual print. Need to do something about that.

    How does this compare to a lulzbot 6 and the makergear m2?

    • @RichRap3D
      @RichRap3D  7 лет назад

      I have a TAZ 6 now, so I'll try to compare at some point. (with the new Sigma R17).

    Hi guys. Do you think we can replace that leadscrew with a ballscrew?

    I have build many 3d printers so far like both prusa, lasercut prusa,printrbot etc. But i need a no fuss stable model single extruder pla machine. So i was planning to build e3d bigbox. would you recomend it ?

    • @RichRap3D
      @RichRap3D  8 лет назад

      +Karan Chaphekar Yes, I would recommend a BigBox. It's a very good kit and produces great prints. It takes quite some time to assemble, so make sure you have many days to build it up. But then it's a very good machine.

    Does this do the duplication mode and mirror mode or is that just the newer r17?

    • @RichRap3D
      @RichRap3D  6 лет назад

      With a firmware update, yes you can do mirror mode and duplication on the 2015/2016 Sigma models

    Bowden is its downfall I think....especially for any of the really exotic filaments like Ninjaflex and Filaflex.

      +Dark Alchemist It works surprisingly well with TPU, because it's 3mm material and the tubes are 3.2mm internal - (not 4mm internal, like some Chinese machines). You can print almost as fast as PLA with semiflex.
