  • Hey Guys,
    Here is some of the foundational information on raiding for those who are interested in the content. Raids are some of my favorite content to run, and have some of the best story in the game. I hope this video helps to showcase that raids are attainable and easy to get into.
    Hope you found this video helpful, thanks for watching!

    1. Know your class, dps rotation, practice on golem to get it down at least somewhat decent. Why you may ask? Cause step 2.
    Step 2: Learn mechanics and focus on one wing at a time. Highest dps does not matter if you can’t follow mechanics and die. Spirit vale is commonly run in LFG and a good start. Options for this are training runs through RAID academy (best), training runs on LFG (ok) or if a good gamer (watch videos over and over and join a run and practice on the fly (rare).
    3. Once mechanics for your first wing are solid and you understand the dps role in each boss. You can start moving to next wing of choice.
    4. Through doing that wing 1 and hopefully getting RNG and getting some ascended gear, start working on healer or boon dps for your class. Why? Because there are always dps around but when you can heal or provide boons, it’s easier to get into groups. Plus will change things up a bit instead of running the same dps rotation over and over.
    This is from someone who did not want to do raids for first 3-4 years of playing the game. And now have done enough to acquire the legendary gear through them. Hope it helps others! Cheers!

      So I can only raid if I know everything about the raid before doing it the first time.
      That's like watching a review from a movie before going to the cinema to watch the movie. Boring.

    • @SilhouetteGaming1
      @SilhouetteGaming1  7 месяцев назад

      @Seb7an not exactly. You can develop blind groups and learn yourself but this content has been out for like 6 years

    • @KaufmanJr209
      @KaufmanJr209 7 месяцев назад

      @@Seb7an it’s recommended unless you want to have a terrible time. If you want to go in blind, then it needs to be a training group and mechanics explained to you by the commander as you go through them. That is also okay. Hence why raid academy for training runs is best for this. You choose how you want to proceed.
      Also movie/trailer analogy is not good for this, because you just sit at the movie theater and watch. Nothing required from you. This is not passive content, this is active endgame content and requires effort from you. Your comparison probably applies more to casual map completion on your own terms with minimal effort involved.

      @@Seb7an thats a very good observation. gw2 raids indeed suffer from mechanic bloat and mostly are knowledge checks

      Hey thanks for the compliment, they have in depth guides on boss mechanics which are useful, but if you don't know how to put your team together first you're kinda stuck. I'll be following up with other videos covering specific raid wings and mechanics in the future. Feel free to come back with any questions! Cheers.

      I mean.. getting rekt with the boys is like 90% of the fun of raids ya know. You can always join a guild and be a secondary healer and see without tanking. As a support heavy player myself I have felt your pain.

    But the problem here is that every damn grp that you try to get in is super strict and the KP required is always sooo high. For me a new player I only dream of o raids and even guilds don't do that much training these days

    • @katzofant
      @katzofant 7 месяцев назад +1

      To he fair most groups have no issue with carrying a newbie. Join and ask if it is ok if you come along, that you know the mechanics and your build and that you will leave if told so. Usually comms don't mind that. Just avoid CM groups and be open about you being a beginner. The squads I ran with always appreciated an honest beginner more than any elitist DPS grinder.

      I know it can be challenging but there are guilds that exist. I assist with training in my guild on NA. Just don't give up. Additionally raid academy is a good place for getting started but it's a discord community.

      @@SilhouetteGaming1 how long do you tend to wait for these raids especially if your fairly new like me ?

    • @SilhouetteGaming1
      @SilhouetteGaming1  6 месяцев назад

      @___m16 depends on how many roles you can play and if you can play the key positions of a boss fight. If you can tank and be flexible it's faster to find the fills for the squad. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to LFG wing 1 full clear. If you don't have a tag, can't tank, can't do shit it might take longer. Filling your account out with pdps,cdps,qdps,adps, and qheal and aheal make lfging a breeze, then you just learn the special jobs and you can basically pug anything whenever you want. For beginners with only DPS it takes longer, and having some buddies who can play the supports speed things up

    How the healer is the tank to?

    • @SilhouetteGaming1
      @SilhouetteGaming1  7 месяцев назад +1

      Healers double as tanks because they can self heal and heal the group. It has to do with role compression. It is better to make a non damage role tank since there are gearsets like minstrels that have tank and heal stats built in.

      If you are a high dps player it will definitely help, but you can be good at boon Or support, or be good at boss mechanics and still secure a spot. If you can hand kite, lamp, sword or shield and have multiclass, you are definitely getting an invite regardless If you are meh on dps

      bro 250 li people who raid are usually the best dps in your strike group, but there is some merit to what you are saying here. just do 80% of their dps and you are good to go.
