In 1980 when i was a new bride i made bread every Saturday. I had forgotten how i loved to make bread. I cleaned house and made bread like all good little housewives of the time. Kids came along life changed and bread was thrown to the side. I still have my Better Homes cookbook i may have to dig it out. Have a beautiful day sweetie. 😍
I absolutely loved reading your comment!!! Cooking and baking has always been a great passion of mine and I’m so glad to hear about others who share my love of cooking. Since the weekend is coming up… celebrate with some bread making. 😉 I too did this so much when I was first married and my daughter was small. It was my pastime when she was napping. As soon as she woke up, this was her snack. She ate the center out and I usually enjoyed the crusty edges. 🤭 Great memories!!! Thanks for watching and sharing your memories too. Have a blessed weekend!!!
@ Same here . Life got busy and I got away from Doing the special touches. . I am now teaching my grand daughters my homemade secrets. Two of them love to bake.I taught them how to make pie crust( something our two daughters do not know how) so they make the pies at the holidays. They come and spend the night . We have a great time. I think one of my granddaughters will do a business baking someday. It’s her passion.
What a fun recipe!! I absolutely cannot wait to make this with our little grandsons!! Oh Stephanie! Love this recipe!! Thank you so much for sharing! Have a blessed weekend!! 🙏🏻
This is such a fun recipe! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Please let me know how it turns out and how your grandsons enjoy the recipe and baking process. Have a blessed evening!!!
You’re definitely up early and I’m glad you shared your morning with me! 😊 Thanks for watching and I hope you stay warm in Michigan! Have a blessed weekend and enjoy the bread!! 🍞😊🍞
This is outstanding!! The only thing, I make bread all winter, when it gets cold in Houston/Clear Lake, TX!!! But I could see at what temp the bread was baked at. I just baked at 350 & watched it...Delicious...thanks...linda
It should bake at 375 for about 25-30 minutes. I think this was omitted in the description, but mentioned it in the video. I have corrected the description. Thanks so much for letting me know. I’m glad your bread turned out well and fresh bread in the winter is just delicious and comforting. 😊 Thanks for watching and your comment. Have a blessed weekend!!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. This allows for a very neat and clean process. Also, it’s fun! 🤩 Thanks for watching, your comment, and I hope you have a blessed weekend!!!
Not only is it fun and tastes delicious, but your house will smell amazing while it bakes. 😋 The wonderful aroma of baked bread lingers and is so delightful. Smells are just an added bonus! 🤭 Thanks for watching and your comment! Have a blessed weekend!!!
I made this with my Aunt growing up and it is so fun! I’ll pull the recipe out and try to film it in the next week or so. Just thinking…I may have to do two videos: 1-the starter and 2-the bread. Great idea!!! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed day!!!
Absolutely fantastic video! I just can't wait to give it a try. You are a wonderful instructor and it was easy to follow along. Thank you so very much! Sincerely, From Debbie and Dexter-Dog 🐶 my sweet tiny rescued Chihuahua companion living a quiet crafty life in southern California. ❤❤
Hello Ms Debbie and Dexter-Dog. 👋 Thank you for your kind words!!! 😊 So glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed evening!!!
I just found your channel. I am going to try some of your delicious looking recipes. I have one question, what are the mats that you have on your oven racks. I bet they help to keep your oven racks clean. thank you.
They are oven liners and you are correct, their purpose is to keep the oven clean. I absolutely love them. I have added a link in the “shop” button of the video for you to find them easily. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. They are amazing! Thanks for watching and your comment. Have a blessed day! 😊
They are non-stick oven rack liners. I got mine in a two pack at Aldi. They are great to keep my oven clean. Thanks for watching and your question. Have a blessed weekend!!!
@kymdisney11 They re-stock on Wednesday. About once a month or so I see them in my store. Hope you can find them. I have found them to be very helpful. 😊
My transition read…The eldest sister is really a skilled craftsman. I’m not sure what this means but I will take this as a compliment. 😊 Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed day!!!
She doesn't want to make a mess! Great idea! I just watched another Lady doing this, no mess! I have a bread machine, yet I did think this way was awesome for those who doesn't!!
In the UK bakers would never use plain flour , we always use Strong bread flour , it gives a better texture and rise better , that loaf didn’t rise that well looks more like a cake , as for making it in. a bag ?? easier and quicker in the stand mixer , she’s not the first american i’ve seen using a plastic bag and all the textures look the same not light and fluffy and certainly didnt rise much 🤣🤣
That’s good also. Most of the time, due to my warm climate, my kitchen is warm enough. However, the day I made this it was exceptionally cold. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed evening!!!
This is a perfect recipe to start with. It’s so easy to make, even with all the steps, and is so rewarding. Thanks for watching and your comment. Have a blessed weekend and I hope you enjoy the bread!!!
I make bread, but I let it rise twice... once in a bowl , pinch it down , make into a loaf & let it rise again, then bake . Did I miss something in your process ?
Yes, there is salt added. It’s during the second addition of flour. Also, the complete recipe and directions are found under the description for reference in all of my videos. Thanks for watching and your question. Have a blessed day.
This sounds delicious but I wouldn’t have that Alexa in my house. It’s proven that you can’t shut them off. I’m not one to air my private life like that. I don’t trust any electronics. Especially a phone and smart TV. I will make your bread though.. Love your videos. ❤
You are right they do listen but there is nothing that interest she (A) will hear. I have learned through the years to take the good with the bad and make the most of each day. ☺️ I’m so glad you found me and are enjoying the videos! Have a blessed weekend!!!
It just helps to keep things contained. If you are more comfortable with bread making, feel free to just use a bowl. No problem 😉 Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed evening!!!
It’s easier than you think. Just trust the process and try it. The payoff is delicious!!! 😋 I believe in you!!! Give it a try 😊 Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed weekend!!!

I'm new to your channel and I'm curious about the board type things you have on your oven racks. Can you tell me what they are?

Not sure what purpose the bag adds to the process. Why not mix it in the bowl, autolyze, do quick in bowl kneads and bake?
It’s just an easy method to contain all ingredients. Thanks for watching and your comment. Have a blessed weekend!!!

I love bread! I could make a meal out of warm fresh bread and butter! 😅
. . . . . TO CREATE A WARM ATMOSPHERE, I HEAT MY OVEN TO 100 DEGREES THEN TURN IT OFF IMMEDIATELY - THEN PLACE BREAD INSIDE TO RISE. WORKS EVERYTIME.
That’s good also. Most of the time, due to my warm climate, my kitchen is warm enough. However, the day I made this it was exceptionally cold. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed evening!!!
My mom made the best bread.. i never have

Lol i guess if i don't have power... or a mixing bowl and spoon. This could work
No salt?

Lol bread making in a bag 🤔 interesting, not dirty your hands too much. Great idea 💡
