We're from the UK and visited LV a couple of weeks ago, I just wanted to thank you for all the tips you've givenin all your videos, it really helped us choose where to go (and where to avoid!) - in particular we weren't aware of the Chinatown part and had some lovely meals there, so thank you for that. We found Freemont a bit 'much' for us and didn't really enjoy that part of town to be honest - especially the big old lady with her t*ts out asking for money. But we did like Nacho Daddy at the end of Freemont. One little thing we found was that the regular margarita at the Filament bar in the Freemont Casino is literally the best I've tasted in over 30 years of loving the drink. Oh and Katy Perry was amazing!! Thanks again.
I lived downtown for years and worked at the Plaza for 3 years. I am amazed how much it has changed. I am totally satisfied with what Norma has explained the changes.
Always love DT. Better class of peeps. Sunday night after the NASCAR race was a blast! Bands everywhere, knuckleheads from Tennessee playing craps while sunburnt and way overdrunk. Stuff like that.
The Lady Luck was our favorite place to go to. We got married in Vegas and stayed there all the time. Freakmont Street has changed alright, that's why we call it that. I do prefer it to the strip though. We now live here and love it. And can I say you are just so adorable.
I have stayed at Main Street Station Hotel and casino in the Fremont Street area, and I highly recommend it. The Mob Museum in the area is a must-see for anyone who loves history!
I love downtown! The live music and vibes are always on point. Circa is my favorite but what I love most is how downtown reminds me of how Vegas used to be.
I'm glad I stumbled across this. All the other RUclipsrs ignore this area! Finally, someone did an informative video of that area. I remember it because of the movie "Cool World". Yes, the movie where Gabriel Byrne has sex with a cartoon of Kim Basinger!
I had so much fun downtown Vegas. I recommend women wearing some type of fanny pack or a crossbody purse/bag. Don’t let it just hang off your shoulder. You need to watch your stuff. There’s some sketchy people down there. But it’s a lot of fun. Drinks are stronger and cheaper. I like to people watch.
We are coming in February, staying downtown at The Plaza so I appreciate you covering some of the cool stuff there! We got married in Vegas in 2015 so we will be celebrating our anniversary. 🎉😊🎉 Thanks so much for making cool, fun videos 🥰
I remember Fremont Street from the 70's as a kid. My parents always had better luck there than on the strip so that's where we'd stay in Vegas. I have to admit, my luck has been demonstrably better in the downtown casinos. Your luck may vary, of course. Thanks for taking me a long, Norma!!
Also, if you get a Las Vegas Advisor coupon book, it has a coupon that takes resort fees out for up to five nights at The Downtown Grand! 😀 Hopefully the CHAT doesn't get SMUSHED on the next livestream. 😆
This past weekend, my buddy and I came in for a cigar show at Resort World and stayed at The D for the first time. We had a great time. My wife and I usually stay at The Mirage. But The D was great I would recommend it for sure!
Glad to see this video. If you remember, this is when my wife and I met you in Fremont. In fact, Angie is playing video poker in the background when you are at the bar at The Grand. We love your channel.
Hi Norma, great video. OK, now I want to visit downtown again. I enjoy walking under the Viva Vision it's cool and like gaming at Circa. Those were some amazing rooms at the Downtown Grand. I still want to take advantage of the dinner deals at Tony Roma's one day. Visiting downtown is something I do occasionally because I enjoy the Las Vegas Strip more. Smooshed.
New member! one of the best video's you have produced, I have been marathoning all your old ones. They don't come close. Last 2 weeks really uped the bar. Excellent content
A trip to Vegas is never complete without a night on Fremont Street...assuming you stay on the strip. Back in the 90's we stayed at the tropicana and downtown was..rough is a good word. Throughout the 2000's though we wouldn't miss it. Nice vid, Norma!
Thanks again Norma! I’m still new to Downtown Vegas and only visited 3 times. The prices seem more reasonable and affordable. Next time I visit, I plan to watch your video again. It’s really helpful. I love the downtown vibe, seems more down to earth and laidback. I don’t have to dress to impress. I can get a nice hearty meal for dirt cheap. Get a few cheap beers from the souvenir shops. And a snack and I’m a happy dude. Good for people watching, free entertainment yo, lit! 🔥Take a bus on back to the strip and call it a night eh! But I’m down to walk from the strip to downtown, but maybe start early in the morning with pit stops, never tried it though. No I’m not Canadian. 😀
god i cant believe i been living here for 2 and a half years....and just met you here! daaaayum...and i was really thinkin about going back home to seattle....but now, hmmm...i think i'll stick it out for a while more :)
@@benboyer3894 yeah, it’s all planned out. The casinos on the strip are in negotiations right now, which basically bullies them to come to a deal because they will lose so much money if they can’t operate during F1. Golden Nugget will be in negotiations leading up to Super Bowl since that is a very busy time for them, so you should be good for next month at the Nugget. They won’t even be negotiating yet.
Love it, I've been to downtown Las Vegas and enjoyed it, though my favorite is the strip! You always come up with original ideas for these videos, can't wait for the next one 🙂 and, you're still very beautiful, always 🙂
We love Fremontstreet! Halloween was great and the cocktails at the Carouselbar were delicious! Thanks for the awesome vlogs! Greetings from the Netherlands!
Norma, great video. All your videos are packed with info.. Been watching/subscribed since you first started and you really grew your channel to being one of the best that covers Vegas!
Thank you Norma !! The last couple times I was in Vegas - I skipped downtown. I do remember seeing Melinda and her magic show at the Lady Luck back in 1995. Times do change. Thank you so much again for all you do. Looking forward to Vegas on December 3rd !! 😅
Love the video, still haven’t been to Fremont yet but mostly definitely be goin next trip, all the fees can be a lil crazy, BUT LAS VEGAS IS THE NUMBER 1 PLACE TO SO MANY THINGS TO DO THERE KEEP U THE GOOD WORK NORMA, CAN WE GET A 24 hour LUXOR OR EXCALIBUR VIDEO
Great video. Downtown has changed a lot and you explained it well. Visitors should definitely come and see the old casinos, totally different vibe from the Strip.
I love the live bands and entertainment on Fremont, and it's always a good time. I'm pretty chill though, so I've never actually stayed downtown. After seeing how quiet and away from the madness of Fremont St. the Downtown Grand is, I just might give it a try next time. Another thing I like is how all the casinos are smushed together, so it's so easy to get around. Thanks for all the helpful information. Really great job Norma!! 🌠
Downtown is great! It's definitely not for everyone though. If your into partying, drinking, live music, ppl watching, street performers, etc than you will love it! Technically everything is a little cheaper there, however I have noticed since the F1 race was announced for Vegas, the drink comp minimums for casino bars has gone up and bartenders on fremont st are more strict about drink comps. It is totally awesome when they have well known bands playing live!
Great video and timely since I will be out there soon! That hot dog and PBR special at the Downtown Grand is a game changer because they had never had a quick easy snack option before. Between that and the new food court across the street, there are some nice additions. I am also looking forward to checking out those two new bars at the Plaza. Thanks for the tips!
Another great and informative video. It’s very different than the Strip!! Also, Mob museum is cool especially the Speak Easy!! At least today you can read the comments!!!!😂😂
Right past the uber commercial Fremont Street Experience is a pretty decent part of Downtown, with some decent bars and eats. I'm also a big fan of the Arts District, altho this area does tend to go almost vacant on the streets once nightfall hits. The restaurants there still do solid business tho.
Downtown is best town. Love Fremont Street. Prefer it to the Strip. I love the walkability, volume of casinos, better gaming conditions, cheap food options, free live music and the overhead light show. It really is a gambling block party every night.
Love love love Vegas, love Norma! Love Lydia and love all your content! Oh and I love gambling as you can tell by my channel! 😂 ❤ sending all the good vibes Norma!
My favorite part of Fremont from spring to fall they have free concerts from bands that have put out albums and now the plaza hotel and casino are having bands play at it's comedy club like dirty honey is set to play this November the G.A tickets are $30 bucks not bad better than the big strip would change
I go to Downtown every trip. Great odds for table games. Circa has the best Sports Book in Vegas. Oscar's is one of my favorite Steakhouses. Plus tons of bars and restaurants to check out. Also the vibe is totally different from The Strip
Downtown is the perfect hangout location to eat, play and stay. You can do cheap or splurge they have something for everyone down there. We love it down there. For some reason I'm a magnet for ketchup spills, everytime i have fries.
I will be Sunday November 5 in Downtown Las Vegas, staying at the 4 Queens. I love Downtown. I'm coming to Las Vegas since 1977. The changes since then are incredible. I love your Vegas reports Norma. Great job.
Been many years since I have been to downtown but your videos always make me want to visit. Especially with so many new attractions. And it hurts me to watch your wine video knowing you SMUSHED your toes on the door.
Best time to go is at night to really appreciate the show up top. And the mob museum is a block away! Coming back December and like always, looking forward to it!
I took about 3 grand to last me a week for shows, gaming and food. Ended up hitting a slot machine for 6 grand on my first slot played. Just doing 20 bucks at $2.00 a spin. Needless to say i went home with 3k. And got to go to tons of shows, lots of great food and gifts for friends. They have some awesome trinket stores. A local put me onto some of the souvenir stores just 5 minutes off strip. Had much better deals then prices on the strip. I would go back again but definitely would budget a few grand. Just got lucky last time!
I gotta stay at the Downtown Grand. They got low minimums and great VP paytables, and the rooms look nicer than the old Lady Luck (which I loved as well).
I mean Fremont slaps without a doubt. Great food and drink prices. The El Cortez is boss although it’s not part of the whole Fremont experience. It’s the place I feel most at home ❤️ just be aware of your surroundings like you should anywhere because there are some sketch folks on them side alleys of the experience and anything past container park.
Nice to see downtown get some love on here, I had a blast hanging out there last week. Had my birthday dinner at Oscar's and headed over to Hogs and Heffers, so much fun there. 🎂 🥳 🎉
I LOVE Fremont!! I LOVE TLC Properties (4 Queens, Binion's, Hotel Apache) - they've ALWAYS given me exceptional service, and the comps I've received from them were above and beyond ANYTHING I got on the strip - just for the feedback I left them! The tables and slots really DO seem to be looser than on the Strip. The staff are open and inviting. Security is quick and responsive. The restaurants are really good (Magnolia's, Evel Pie, Dirt Dog, Oscar's Steakhouse, Pink Box Donuts, and on and on...), and there's SO much to DO that in a 4 day stay, you may not even MAKE it to the Strip! The Mob Museum is so cool, and the Container Park, and Neonopolis (The Cat's Meow Karaoke, Indoor Go-Kart Racing, Bowling and arcade, and even a wedding chapel!) - One of the coolest places I've ever been to! But, and this isn't for EVERYONE, It's a stone's throw from Hogs & Heifers - the coolest saloon I've EVER been to! I was drawn into the place by one of the bartenders (all female) shouting at me, "Hey, B___H! Get your sexy A__ IN HERE"! Being Transgendered, I couldn't resist THAT siren call! The girls were brassy, bold, and SO much fun! I'm heading back up to LV in July - TLC has comped me 2 tix to the Mike Hammer Comedy show, drink vouchers, and a 'Ghost Hunting' kit. Yeah! I'm gonna be at Hotel Apache!! I LOVE Fremont Street!!
Muchísimas gracias Norma por todos tus videos, me han servido mucho para decidir a donde ir y que hacer. Sin dudarlo vi como 50 vídeos tuyos jajaja (te quedan muy bien btw). I just came back from 3 days in Vegas, been 3 times before and this fourth time was the worst. Freezing cold, strip was dead and quiet by 9PM, and EVERYTHING WAS A RIP OFF. Also all the drivers and locals were pissed off at the disruption of the F1. I paid $40 USD for 3 mile rides in Ubers. Vegas has gone downhill bad

Wow, so much to impact here. Moved here just about a week ago. Didn't know vegas had this much to offer. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, did not even mention the El Cortez Hotel and Casino! Best Casino in downtown. Thanks for sharing!
They don't allow any kind of video cameras or smartphones. Probably why she left it out. I love it too, and stay there.
Winning on a Slot Machine downtown went out when they put in places to sit down beside in front of a Slot Machine, 1990's.

Be there on Sunday at the Downtown Grand! Love Fremont!
"Is it summer yet?" I sooooooo get it!
Fremont is the only place we stay now. We may venture to the strip for a few hours, but we spend most of our trip on Fremont.

My husband and I love downtown Las Vegas. We always stay at the Golden Nugget. Thanks for your vlog!
Should’ve chose a different time
