I agree, Last year when it was announced that the City Council gave the go ahead 3 years ago. They did not let the residents of Las Vegas have a say. I mentioned that legal action should be address for all the city council members who endorsed this fiasco!I hope when they (city council) re-elections happen they are all voted out of office. And get rid F1.
From a local's perspective who works on The Strip, this years prep has been night and day different. Last year was indeed 6-7 months of traffic hell because the entire circuit had to be paved to F1 standards.... which called for ultra smooth and super level surfaces obviously. This year, no real paving has been done at all and most work has been done at night if possible to not snarl traffic. However most locals do indeed HATE the race as they view it as intrusive to the norm. A large convention or sporting event takes place, it's over and done in the matter of weekend or week at most 99% of the time as far as The Strip traffic is concerned, F1 is WAY outside normal as far as prep is concerned. It complicates the commutes for workers in the casinos (myself included), and it more or less blocks the easiest ways to move East and West across the city when the track is "HOT" and in use during race week. Many locals are hopeful that after the first 3 guaranteed races, F1 elects NOT to return for any of the remaining 7 of the 10 year deal, thus the "IF F1 wants to come back" as Norma stated. But seeing they dumped $500 million into paddock and other projects around town, they'll most likely run the full 10 years to get their investment back at least. After that however....... I don't know. 😅😅
Since you are directly impacted by the race you have reason to be concerned. I think the overwhelming majority of the people against the race don’t live, work or play on the strip. The internet really brings out the negative.
Coming for my friends birthday this weekend and had no idea it was F1, can we even walk the strip? Are we screwed? Or what should we expect? We are staying at rio
It looks like walking is still open. Maybe they close it, by Tuesday or Wednesday, next week. Taking a bus is economical. Rio to downtown.. Or, park at a hotel to walk The Strip. South Vegas is fun to visit. And less traffic. Food bargains at hotels there. Buffet, also at South Point Hotel, with several restaurants, also. Silvertons huge aquarium with mermaids. And the most unique bar in Vegas, according to one reviewer. With a two lane bowling alley in an airstream trailer
Thanks for the update/info Norma. I think F1 in Las Vegas is great. Having the race on/around the Strip was great in theory but causes too many problems/disruptions with tourists and businesses. Thought it would show up better on TV on race day but it did not. Some of the hotels looked dark/no lights. They should move it to the motor speedway.
You're missing the point. The whole reason this race is on the F1 calendar is the spectacle of racing on the streets of Vegas. If it were to be moved to a permanent track, Nevada wouldn't be a consideration for F1.
I’m really excited to watch Formula 1 this year especially because we convinced Andrew to go with us this year, but I do have to shut down my Las Vegas Photo Tour almost the entire month of November because half of my spots are covered by construction and grandstands. 😭
Oh no so sorry you have to shut down your Photo Tour :-( but you gonna have a great time. I only dream to one day being able to come and watch the race in person. This season is very tight for the championship so it is even more exciting. Go Charles Leclerc (Ferrari). haha
Yes. Maybe last year, on The Strip, some say. If they moved it South and East. Or, to the speedway. With extra grandstands to make a profit Or, a combo street/ speedway race. -If they wanted to have a unique race.
As an F1 fan in another country I love the Vegas race it’s background of the strip is astounding as a viewer. Now for you locals I feel deep frustration for you all with how it tears the city apart for at least one month and blocks some of the most beautiful walks especially the Bellagio . I love your videos Norma and your lovely smile 🙂
@ I would say no but the F1 seems to want Vegas and the beauty that it is in the background but I really feel for the locals it’s a horrible mess for them to get around
@ yeah that’s the issue. From what I’ve read it’s a three year deal. The fact the set up is starting g a lot closer to the actual date this year says a lot. It “probably” will stay. Let be honest. Monaco shouldn’t be on the rota either but will never ever not be. There’s a sort of similarity there. I think?
My wife and I travel to Vegas 2 to 3 times a year, but we will NEVER travel there during construction or breakdown of F1. So only 1 trip for us a year until F1 is gone...
Oh no, not only one trip. Don't worry you'll be replaced by many rich Europeans. Plus I'll go every year knowing entitled people like you won't be there. Not even a f1 fan but love the spectacle. Enjoy the testicle, peace out karen
I have no interest in F1. I visited Vegas twice last year before the race. We talked to the taxi drivers to Uber drivers. Nobody was a fan of dealing with the traffic construction before the race or after F1. I will be visiting Las Vegas the day after F1. 😊 Thank you Norma.
Hi Norma. I am a huge F1 fan. Being originally from France, this sport is the most popular in Europe and been watching it since i was a little kid. I know the temporary contruction can be a bit of a pain but people will learn to get use to it. Ask the people in Monaco. It is a city race and they have done it for many decades now. They have adapt. Vegas race is the most exciting one on the calendar in my opinion because of the insane speed down the strip. Fantastic Video. I hope you do go live during those days.
So much really great information for anyone going to Vegas during that time, especially the ones that will be attending the race. I really loved the question-and-answer session, and hope you include that more often. Excellent job Norma!! 🌠
Las Vegas should pay you money for all the information you give us if we would’ve come out there and I know racing probably is not your thing but it’s great to hear a woman talk about it. You do a great job Norma. We love watching you up here in the Midwest Milwaukee. You are a better reporter on the news in Vegas, than our reporters on TV up here 🎉 lol
Your videos are so well done!!! You could’ve trashed F1, but you just gave us information and allow us to have our own opinion. As you become world known, don’t forget us little people that were here at the beginning!!lol And always, always, protect Richard 🐓!!!!!🤣🤣
Might be the last race, on The Strip. Maybe, move to the Speedway. Put extra grandstands. Or, street and speedway combo race. Or, South and East of The Strip.
THANK YOU , Norma....Terrific Video !!.....If I may ask, what is the Best Deal for a senior citizen ( I know ..stay home ..watch F1 Race on TV..LOL), seriously..what do you think ! ?
I was in Vegas last year, a week before the F1 race, and it was a nightmare getting around the Strip. I'm staying clear of Vegas this year until the race is over with.
yep I am well prepare as well by not wasting my time and coming during the fall any more. What a pain getting around and all the obstructed views and walk ways.
Great stuff as usual. I still think it would be better for everyone if they took it out to the racetrack and left the strip alone. Also what on earth is going on the first weekend of December, rooms at the very cheap Horseshoe are $900+ on 12/5 and 12/6??
I only go to the strip in the off season. I love trying new lunch spots. I haven't been to the strip for a couple of years and probably never will thanks to formula one. I live here, and I've found a lot of easier to get to and better priced off strip.
TMobile Zone at the Sphere is GA and super cheap.. like $250 food and drink included AND its where all the concerts are .. one republic concert on thursday.. see you there!

Other issue is while the race brought in a lot of money for the city the vast majority went to the highest tier priced hotels bc thats who the race was catered to the .0001%. the mid tier priced and low tier priced hotels barely saw any impact change than what they normally do and all the local businesses who lost money bc of the street closers and hassle from construction during the year. Big F1 fan here. I spent 8k for two tickets for F1 last year for a shared private suite. To us it was worth every dollar. I bought the same tickets this year it was 2k cheaper lol. I’ll see you there Norma!
OMG i m so happy you read my comment Norma... yes positive thinking. This is a great motorsport and I am beyond excited they have a race in Vegas. My absolute favorite one to watch
1.5 billion, LV has far over invested, this F1 spot used to be on Gold Coast streets, far cheaper, we have v8 supercars running the event now. Loads of crashes like you'd expect from a street circuit.
Thanks for an informative update on the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Hope you get a chance to watch the race again this year. Also hope your friend Belinda had a happy birthday!!!
F1 is a nightmare and I hope they cancel their contract because the juice isnt worth the squeeze. I have seen so many people pass on going during this time of year because of f1 when it used to be the best time to go. Truly sad to see corporate interest is more important than the day to day experiences of the people living there.
Very interesting Norma, I hope F1 works out well for Vegas! I'm more into Formula-E myself....it's like Formula 1, but with electric race cars! I think it will be in Miami next year. 🙂 You blessed us with your great beauty as you always do! And the password is "happy birthday belinda" 🙂
Its still a nightmare. There is no way F1 brought billions. It was a fail. Hope the small businesses win lawsuits to get paid back their losses. I cant believe she is promoting it.
The main thing you need to know about F1imn Vegas is STAY HOME, it is not worth paying for all the overprice merch.

Can’t wait
F1 Thursday and Saturday, Neon City Friday, it's going to fly by.
Awesome! I came across your channel last year because of F1 and stayed ever since. Keep up the good work! 😊👍
Hi Norma! I raced to watch this video. Have a good one! ✌️
Might be the last race, on The Strip.
Maybe, move to the Speedway. Put extra grandstands. Or, street and speedway combo race.
Or, South and East of The Strip.
Huh? That defeats the purpose of racing ON THE STRIP
Thank you for sharing the viewing party options. That will help me potentially plan for attending in 2025!
Damn. I just watched a video just because of Norma. Great video. She’s definitely not just clickbait. Good information
if it has to be in Vegas they should just have it nearby the strip instead of turning the strip itself into a racetrack
In your opinion comparing this year's F1 to last years, what is the biggest advantage? what is the biggest disadvantage? Happy Birthday to Belinda.!

damn it lol I am going to be there next weekend and then again a few weeks after F1... I hate the scaffolding and road closures lol
Which one will be better?
Heineken GA or ceaser standing room?
I see lot of fences so Ceaser Standing room won't have a clear view of the race?
WRONG information. The race starts an 10 pm on SATURDAY november 23th!! Not 24th!
No it’s on the 24th. All feature races occur on a Sunday. Get your facts right
Last time F1 came to town, I avoided the strip and took side roads since I have no interest in the race. Good for the workers bad for the locals
Hopefully F1 gets sued into oblivion for destroying businesses
As a local, u must rely on Uber drivers that know the ins n outs of Strip hotels during Formula 1.
love the bloopers
Love ❤️ the bloopers 😊😅
How do you get to Bellagio parking if you arrive around the time the racing has already started and Las Vegas Blvd is closed?
We are coming for Thanksgiving. Do you think things will be cleaned up or at least traffic wont be so bad?

I went late September this year and the construction was going on and traffic was bad. I don’t like it for visitors and locals. Uber Lyft had to detour and we were late for the show
Can’t wait for F1 to leave Las Vegas, so much traffic!!!
Did those hotel rates include the despised “resort fees”?
What I know is I’m staying the hell away from the strip for months
I hope you locals have a better experience this year. Are you going? Last year with the 5 hour delay in practice runs didn't endear many to the sport, huh?

What’s the details on the $99 Flamingo option you shared?

@norma why do you not accept messages on your stories on IG? I don't feel like you respond to the people that support you...

what the heck is Huel? you mean Fuel? Food?
