    Thank you for the videos!
I taught myself to play fiddle in 1976, and I didn't have any resources like this available back then.
All I had to go by was my ear, and intuition, [which was limited by my own creativity]... & listening to songs.
I would have advanced so much faster having a teacher such as you!
Finally after 45 years... you just confirmed a vital technique to keep us centered!
Please keep up the helpful tutorials. 😁

Excellent! Learning on my own and I had the same idea to improve intonation, but still looking for familiar tones for all scales. Your effort is greatly appreciated. Btw love your hair

1cleandude hi there! I don’t have a video on that but it’s just for use in orchestral music, so if I have it on in this video, that’s why...I was playing with a theater here in Philadelphia😄

Oh you are in the basement of the Ogden theater? I was wondering. It looked like à bull fight ring or something like that . It has beautiful acoustic for violin lesson. No room reverberation often heard with too many youtube videos the reverberation interferes with the the listener's understanding the speaker, that's you and also the contrast in the lighting is excellent for viewing your fingers on the fingerboard .Good lighting and good acoustic Now where was i? Oh yeah you demonstrate and explanation of the square finger posture may be a first, at least for me as to the best way to tap the notes . Many videos by other teachers emphasis keeping the fingers close to the strings and there video view show the fingers low in profile in contrast to the fingerboard only Violin ,,,.. demo show that square finger approach . I call that high stepping fingerings but let use your term square stepping. So the experts @ violinmaserclass channel show square finger approach but don't describe it so I thought it was the individuals students playing ability to square step . The square step you show requires more shifting to reach notes and the low profile finger approach allows for less shifting or call it finger stretching although the fingers don't actually stretch but the low profile approach the fingers touch other strings in my practice . WHAT'S MY POINT. You Show me that the square step is the best step or preferred step . Good job

..Is this scales? :D Sort of? :D Only practicing with the 4th finger as well? Seriously, though, I'm sure this is super helpful. I'm definitely trying it out when I'm gonna practice :D

Well actually your pattern is right and it's very useful for ear training, but I see that you do a sort of "mistake" in every video where you mention "DO RE MI" sounds.
DO RE MI FA SOL LA SI are the Italian names of notes: C D E F G A B
...so you are mentioning to sing C D E for an Italian/latin musician, and that sounded a bit awkward and confusing in your example, expecially because you were playing A B C#... while singing C D E :)
I don't know if I was clear about that: but DO RE MI.. are synonymous of C D E. I don't know if in USA or around the world there is a song that sing "DO RE MI bla bla...", it seems you are mentioning it like a kind of Twinkle Twiknkle Little Star, but actually singing DO RE MI FA SOL LA SI DO is just the original solfeggio names of notes. The naming with alphabetic letters came ages later for simplicity around the world, but the real names are still used, at least in Italy/latin countries.
Anyway, your pattern and lesson is very clear and nice as always, I love you. :) :*
