Amber, you have a good ear with perfect intonation! I’ve learned about the intervals, and getting them right by humming then silently counting, not hard the way you teach it. The tone of your viola is very pretty! I also play viola at a beginner level. I bought all of the books you showed us. I’m starting on scales. Thank you muchly! You are a lovely teacher!
Thank you, Ms. Amber, good morning and you seem patience and nice. Yes I left a few questions for you when you have time to answering other videos and yes I am left handed and studying other things to go back to school. You make it effortless and obvious. Thank you. But still difficult and learning left handed due to my accident so every instrument guitar all made and brought by help of friends left handed. So if chance could you answer the question of my fingering in reverse from the right handed to the left hand; I know silly however, will be helpful Have a great week its Jan. 15th 2020 Wednesday appreciate at 5:43am. I always played and taught myself by ear but it's an great discovery and epiphany to learn the actual rhythms and notes and where the finger go but for me is reverse. Very kind and intelligent indeed, and like this interval lesson.
Raini Edwards Hi there! Thank you for your comment😃 I appreciate it! Unfortunately, I have never seen anyone do that before on the violin, but I’m sure it’s possible! I just don’t have any advice on that🙏 good luck and thank you for watching!!
My viola is smiling with the major, minor, 3, perfect 4, perfect 5 Stars Wars, Minor intervals. Minor 7 parking place for us, so pretty. Your viola sounds gorgeous with vibrato in minor 7. I need to listen again. Thank you Amber. OK minor 6 boo boo. Have you played in a movie orchestra? Thanks!
Hi there Amber, you're such a lovely teacher. I teach piano and appreciate such clear instruction! Keep up the great work! p.s. I'm new to the violin, teaching myself and hope to get it under my fingers someday!
Hey Amber, thanks for the video. I'm always looking for a couple of extra suggestions for "Interval songs", it's kinda a hobby of mine, haha... I find it useful to have alternatives, sometimes I just can't think of a particular one in context with other music and then (if I'm lucky) the alternative will pop into my head. It's also hlso helpful to have a similar list of the intervals but descending instead of ascending, but I don't have a full set for that. My own little collection goes as follows: ( "b" designates "minor", so b2 = minor second etc., # = sharp), b2 - Jaws 2 - Oh Susanna/ Frere Jaques/ Nick Kershaw "The Riddle"/ b3 - Smoke on the Water (Guitar Riff)/ Greensleeves 3 - Oh when the Saints, Cat Stevens "Morning has broken" 4 - Here comes the bride, any polka/mariachi bass line #4 & b5 (acoustically the same thing) - The Simpsons Theme, Main Theme from "Once upon a time in the West" 5 - Star Wars, Thus spoke Zarathustra b6 - The theme of "The Wolf" from "Peter and the Wolf" , Chorus of "Phantom of the Opera", Theme from "Love Story" 6 - My Bonnie is over the Ocean b7 - Original Star Trek theme Major 7 - A-Ha, Chorus of "Take on Me". Led Zeppelin Immigrant song (vocal starts with an octave but then immediately goes to a major 7th. Not perfect, but, well...beggars can't be choosers, and with this interval everyone is a beggar, haha) 8 - Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Great lesson major happy girl; thanks, very helpful!! What is a note example of Tri-tone i.e. G to C, I - IV etc? Also, why play two notes and call it a Tri Tone? Is that because of the double stop? Thanks again!!
Thanks Amber, this is really helpful! On Wednesday my teacher let me guess some intervals and she was impressed how many I got right...
yayyyy!!

So a tritone is 3 whole steps from the starting note, so D to G# for example :)
Fantastic thank you
Can I ask if you could add music sheet of what you are playing to the screen? That will be much easier for audiences.
sei bellissima

15:11 Thank you for not imitating Robert Plant's orgasm voice, although that would be kinda funny...
