- This video shows you how to apply rhinestones using the hotfix applicator.
I picked my applicator up in Germany, so I have to put an adaptor on the plug to use it in the UK.
The size of rhinestone I use in this video is SS20. For this applicator you need the hotfix rhinestones meaning, they have a glue on the underside, when heat is applied above, it glues the rhinestone to your nipple pasties or costume!
It is a wonderful tool and easy to use, if you plan on doing a lot of rhinestoning.
The applicator comes with a few different size nibs that you can screw onto the end of the applicator. Screw in the size you want to use.
This is the company I use for my rhinestones and they sell the applicator too.

Haha I thought I was supposed to be putting the rhinestones into the tip then pressing them onto the cloth🤣🤣 thank you so much
Oh! I am glad this video helped then!!
Some videos show it that way.
Me too 🤣 I decided hot fix rhinestones were rubbish because it didn't work. 🤦♀️
Lol lol me too
Me too!!
Thank you I just got my kit today & im so confused on how to do it lol but now thanks to you I got it figured out 💜 thanks so much!
You are wecome!
Thank you so much for creating this video. I went to purchase this at Michaels and the people working there were not willing to help me find the tool or answer my question about needing to add extra glue. I lucked out a guy who worked there was willing to help me find the tool.
You're welcome, I'm glad it helped!
Thank you this is so easy. I don't know why I was thinking it was so hard. You've got beautiful hands.
Aww thank you, that's a kind thing to say!
@@IvoryBlackDesign your welcome. I have a question for you. I wanted to purchase some crystals but not sure which size to go with. Is there a certain size you work with more than others or is it just hit and miss?
@@karenogden7403 It depends on the metal nozzle you put into the end of the rhinestone applicator. The applicator should come with different size nozzles and the number should be written on the side. I used size ss20. Hope that helps x
@@IvoryBlackDesign wonderful, thank you so much. God bless you and have a wonderful day.
@@karenogden7403 Thank you! You have a wonderful day too! xx
thank you, i ordered on line and not knowing how to use it, now i know
Fantastic! Have fun!
So everyone wants to bedazzle their clothes this year huh
I believe so!
@@IvoryBlackDesign can I use this for smaller rhinestones ??
@@therealdjaux5184 Yes, because the applicator comes with a selection of nibs. You choose the size nib you need for your rhinestone and then screw it in!
I know it is kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good site to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Archer Zahir I watch on flixzone. You can find it on google =)
Thanks, my left ear loved how concise you were!
Why just your left ear?
@@IvoryBlackDesign Your voice was just coming out of the left side on the audio track 🙂
@@InternetResearch Oh I see. Sorry I didn't know that and not sure why it is but thanks for the feedback
@@IvoryBlackDesign No worries it happens!
Same !
what type of surface do you use on the table? cardboard?
Can you wash the garment with the rhinestones?
Thank you so much in advance!!
I wonder if you can apply the preciosa stones on paper as well or is it only for fabric application?
wow thank you so much. i thought i had to apply glue to the rhinestone beforehand lol. silly me
You're welcome! Just make sure that you use hotfix rhinestones with this applicator. If you have non hotfix rhinestones then you will have to apply glue. The hotfix rhinestones come with glue already on them. I hope that helps! xoxo
I love this! I'm so excited! Best Day EVER! LOL
Can you use it in polymer clay jewellery? Thank you.
Thankd for this video,my question is do i need to apply glue on non glue rhinestone before fixing it? I have like fabric glue..pls guide..and will it burn if i use on satin, Georgette or any such fabric?
If you want to use this applicator you will need hotfix rhinestones. The glue is already on the back so when you apply the heat from the applicator it heats the glue and makes it stick.
I would avoid using this applicator and hotfix rhinestones on Georgette fabric as it will burn it. I would use NON hotfix rhinestones on Georgette and apply the gemstone glue manually. I hope that helps.
@@IvoryBlackDesignextremely grateful for your reply, that solves my problem... Thnku, thnku, thnku soo much 😊
Ty! Can I use this technique on plastic like a hair clip???
It may melt the plastic. You might be better off using Non Hotfix rhinestones and glue, rather than a heated application.
Ok Ty!!!
Great video! Please tell me what type of mat you’re using. Thx!!
Thank you! The matt is by a brand named So Crafty!
Thank you for sharing, now I can try on mine!
Fab! Hope you have fun! xoxo
It looks like there's some sort of dark mark around each stone after you glue it. Is there a way to avoid that?
Hi I found that buying quality stones helps with that issue. The better the quality of the stone the better the glue backing is and will lessen the chance of that black ring which I think is the glue scorching with the hot fix tool. I found some good stones on Amazon. The best ones are always true Swarovski. Pay attention to the spelling found some dupes on Amazon that misled by playing with the spelling.
I would agree with Chi on this. The rhinestones I used in the video were not the best quality. I would recommend buying Swarovski, they are expensive but they really sparkle and won't leave the dark ring of glue around the stone when it is heated up
@@chirealtor3212 Do you have a referral link to buy better qualities?

I love dazzle. Glitter. Equals happy
this video helped me out a lot! thank you!
I'm glad it helped you! xx
Is there any other methods to apply rhinestones that makes the clothes washable?
Hello, Thank you for your comment. Maybe you could try sew-on rhinestones? If you give it a go, let me know how you get on! xx
You can also get glue on flat back rhinestones. Those wash better than these do but I would still either hand wash or machine wash on gentle. Hope this helps
Thanks for the video♥️♥️ Can the applicator be used on crafting paper?
Thank you! But I am not sure about crafting paper. Maybe you would be better off just to glue rhinestones on. So you would need to get non - hotfix rhinestones. Hope that helps xoxo
Thank you for this video! I am wondering if it needs to be fabric, or if I can use a plastic base, like for a cup?
You want to be careful using it on plastic as the heat from the applicator will probably just melt the plastic. You would be better off using non hotfix rhinestone and some glue like Gem tack.
The directions say to put the rhinestone on top of it and watch it bubble. But getting the rhinestone on the applicator is the most difficult thing lol. I will be doing it your way for sure, so much easier!
I am glad that my video was able to help!
Same here! Then the stones kept falling out of the applicator when I'd turn it around to apply the stone after it bubbled. Hope this way works!
Do you have to use certain rhinestones for it to work? Or can any type work with the setter tool.?
They have to be Hotfix rhinestones!
How long will the rhineston stay adhere to whatever you're using it on? Would you have to use extra support if you were using it on wood
Hello, I have never applied the hotfix rhinestones to wood before. You could have a go and let us know how well it works? Or you could use non hotfix rhinestones and just use glue.
Thanks for Sharing!
My pleasure!
Thank you for sharing this video And Yes its very useful.
Thank you for watching! I'm glad it helped!
Do you know where I can buy golden rhinestones that don't come off?
I get all my rhinestones from rhinestonesonline. co.uk
Would this work for eyelash packaging? Boxes?
I'd recommend using non hot fix rhinestones and glue x
Thanks great information
❤
You're welcome!
Hey ladies! I just got my contraption in today from Amazon and Idk how to operate this thing! 😭 But I'm wanting to bedazzle some headbands.
Sounds good to me!
Ok I got it now I have been putting the rhinestones on to the applicator know I know how thank you
Oh I am very glad you found it helpful!
Well presented, thankyou.😘
Thank you!
All the rhinestones come with the glue? I got the ones with the silver cover behind and I don’t know if they work with this? 🤔
That’s what I read- all the ones that came with the kit have glue on them
You can get hotfix rhinestones and non hotfix. The hotfix ones come with glue on the backs x
Can you use it to put gems on clothes?
Thanks for sharing how to use the applicator. Do you know if you can use it on construction hard hats?
I would take care when sticking to plastic. You might be better off using non hotfix rhinestones and glue like Gem Tack to glue the rhinestones on. I hope that helps!
I'm planning to make a glitz pageant dress for my daughter. If I wash the dress. Will the rhinestones fall off?
I am not 100% sure but you could do a sample piece and wash it the way you would wash the dress and see what happens.
would this work on a ukulele, guitar or wood?
I think you would be better off using non hotfix rhinestones and glue.
I just got some plastic sun visors and I plan on adding rhinestones to them could I use this tool. Or not
You could try it, but if it burns the plastic then I would use non hotfix rhinestones and just glue them on xoxo
Are the rhinestones pre-glued? So basically the applicator just melts it into the fabric?
Yes, on the back of the rhinestone there is glue and the applicator heats the glue so it sticks to the fabric.
Where did you get that plug any hardware store.
It's an adapter, you might be able to get one from Amazon.
Super helpful thanks💝👏
You’re welcome 😊 Thanks for watching! xoxo
Can you use this on Swarovski jewels?
You mean use Swarovski rhinestones with the applicator? If that is the question....then yes!
Thank you for this xx
You are very welcome! xoxo
Will this work with wooly hats as well ?
I'm not 100% sure. You might be better off using Non Hotfix rhinestones and glue, rather than a heated application.
What surfaces can the hotfix rhinestones be used on? Or is it just fabric?
I would stick to fabric! But that is all I have ever used the hotfix rhinestones on.
I did some on my "leather" shoes
On fabric, how well do they stand up to the wash over time?
Can you use it on anything at all
Hello, thank you for your comment. I don't think so. I would stick to clothing and shoes!
Thank you x
Great video- now I can try using my Hotfix Wand!! THANKYOU
Good luck! Let me know how you get on!
I just want to know can you use this on diamond painting
Oh that is good to know, thank you!
Hmmmm did you get that actual tool from aliexpress?
No I bought it from a company in Germany very many years ago. It's why it has a European plug and I had to put a British plug adapter on it.
sweet, thanks
I did it omg girl thank you so much
My mom will me piss but thank for you I did it
Well done!!
Thank you 💖💖
You're welcome!
Hi, so the glue is on the rhinestones not on the gun?
That's correct!
Can u use it on glass
Humm maybe? I have never tried. But you could have a go and let us know your results!! xoxo
Would you recommend using these on false eyelashes? Should it be safe to apply to real eyelashes once it dries completely? Thanks
Hello, thank you for your comment. I would not use the applicator on your false eyelashes because it gets incredibly hot and would probably melt your fake eyelashes. You would be better off using non hotfix rhinestones and glue. Hope that helps xx
Use hair glue to add the rhinestones to your lashes
Does the tool touch the fabric? Or does it just touch the rhinestone?
It touches the fabric a little but mostly the rhinestone xoxo
is it possible to attach crystals to metal with this applicator?
I'm sorry I have not tried. I would probably use Non Hotfix rhinestones and glue rather than the heated applicator.
Hi can you use an iron instead?
I don't think so with these ones. But I have never tried. There are rhinestones you can get that a definitely iron on though. You would have to check xx
You can use a heat press on all hotbox rhinestones
Thank you
You're welcome! 🩷
Is it possible to hot fix rhinestones on top of a sequins design thats already been sewn onto fabric? Basically I want to attach a rhinestone to the center of a sequin flower design on my clothing.
I think it would be better to use a non hotfix rhinestone and use gem tack to glue them on.
We're u can buy this ting and prise
Hello, thank you for your comment. I have a link in the description where I buy mine from and the price.
Can i use on silicone?
Probably not. It would be best to use non hotfix rhinestones and glue
Can you use for crocs?
I probably wouldn't in case it melts them xx
Can you use this to attach to wood?
Possibly! Give it a try!
Unfortunately, I could not hear what you were saying over the very loud & distracting music.
Thank you for the feedback. I made this at the very beginning of my RUclips journey. I have other videos explaining the tool and I don't speak at all!! Check that out instead.
See if this one is more helpful: ruclips.net/video/_1mm1HwGJ5w/видео.html
Will it work for leather
Perhaps. You could test it on a scrap piece. If it burns the leather then I would suggest using NON hotfix rhinestones and just glue them on with gemtack.
Hi, can you use it on plastic?
I would be very careful as it would burn the plastic. You would be better off using Gem Tack and non hotfix rhinestones :)
Does this work on hats
Depends on what material the hat is.
How hot does the rhinestone get? Could you apply it to skin?
Absolutely DO NOT apply to your skin. I say in the video to be careful as it gets really hot. It would cause serious burns and it would hurt a great deal. I imagine you can find gems that are actually designed to be applied to the skin.
Can I use it on cork?
Hello, thank you for your comment. I have never tried it on cork. But I don't see why not. Why not give it a go and let me know how you get on?! xx
Can you wash this do the stone come off?
I wouldn't wash the thing you glue the rhinestones to, but you could do an experiment and see!
The ones on my shop bought clothes don't wash off so these probably won't.
@@brucenjanmckerras7713 You are probably right! But the best thing to do is get a scrap piece of fabric and and glue a few rhinestones on an wash them. See what happens!
Hi, does this also work on tulle?
Yep
Hiya, I have never tried. I will try it and get back to you!
Ooooo
do not touch to see if its hot !!! it hurts really bad
I have my volume on my iPad turn all the way up and barely can hear you.
Hello Barbara, I am sorry you have had difficulty hearing me. It was one of my first videos and I am still learning how to make videos. I have taken note of your issue and will keep it in mind for my next videos. Thank you x

I was gonna Bedazzle my Cosplay but found out when I got mine I got the EU plug not the US plug 😀🥲
Oh no! But you can just get a plug adapter. Mine is from the EU but I have a UK adapter on it.
Dear what about the glue do i need to have glue or whitout ..thanx
Your rhinestones have to be hotfix meaning the back of the rhinestones has an activated glue on the bottom that melts and sticks when heat is applied
As Jackieline said, the rhinestones have to be hotfix rhinestones to use the hotfix wand.
hi, will it rest on polymer clay?
I think you would be better off using non hotfix rhinestones and glue
@@IvoryBlackDesign ok, thanks
