Much like the Screamers remaster that also came out this year (2021), this remaster of Metal Urbain's recorded output from 1977-1979 is as mindblowing as it is crucial. It feels like hearing these songs for the first time again, and that's a magical, and extremely rare, experience. Listening to this was particularly special for me, as MU opened a lot of doors for me in high school. For those who don't know, MU was essential in the development of electropunk and synthpunk, using drum machines and synths way before it had come into vogue. Some of this material sounds like Suicide, some sounds like Throbbing Gristle, and some sounds like nothing else. Ripped from my copy since there are no digital versions
