gonna be honest, these guns might have sounded good about 7 or 8 years ago. Now, I feel like several more recent games give far more effort delivering good gun sounds and layering in the various little sounds of the gun operating.
Love the game but have a few issues as a shooter that bug me with the animations: Hammers on the P2000 and Beretta are weirdly high in the slide, G18 is definitely a Glock 26 frame that holds 10 rounds at most without any mag extension and lacks a selector switch or auto sear backplate on the slide, CZ75 Auto is firing fully automatic with the hammer down, MAC 10 is an SMG that fires from an open bolt and here it is shown firing with the bolt forward, M4A1S threads the suppressor on and off in the wrong directions (Righty Tighty) and HK USP is correct as they typically use 16x1 LH threads, MP5SD should probably deploy the telescoping stock to fire unless they're 4ft tall, M4A4 and M4A1S use the same mag skin yet the suppressed version holds 10 rounds less?, M4A4 is also firing in fully automatic with the safety selector in the safe position, Every mag change in the M4's apparently results in the bolt carrier being locked to the rear even on a partial mag and slaps the bolt release when a round is already chambered, AK47 7:12 is also firing and reloading with the safety selector up which is physically impossible as it blocks the bolt from traveling to the rear of the receiver, G3SG1 or HK91 mags are rock into place and not a straight insert like an AR platform. Granted CS has come a long way since 1.5 days but feel that the correct mechanics of these weapons should also be a priority for Valve. Overall big fan of the textures and finally can see in tunnels and hallways without having my brightness setting maxed
I don't mind the animations, the biggest gripes are the one where they clearly reach back in and out offscreen for the mag, most notably the Bizon and Galil, they should just replicate MW:19's/MWII's way of just dropping the mag with a slight tug at the mag release.
Cause you don't know what type of game this is. It's a comp shooter. Not a "realistic" shooter. Things like reloads are consistent. Able to studied. It's why there's spray patterns n shit instead of iron sights and normal recoil.
A modern take on the old animation wouldn't hurt anyone, you have the essence and nostalgia of the old school anims while having a more modern feel to it

this is a glorified update. not a new cs game, valve is lazy and most important dead, if it wasn't for the vr tech they wouldn even made half life alyx (which is why they made this using that engine.)

I feel like Galil got a buff in CS2 new loud sound it feels like I'm giving more damage to enemies I feel more comfortable using it than before Some other guns needs some sound as well as visual update like Famas,Five Seven,Scout,MP9 and Mac 10
What bugs me is the lack of shell casing sounds when they hit the ground and no shells at all ejecting out of the shotguns :( lasting shells that stayed on the ground until the end of the round would be cool too
The sounds and animations were really the main thing keeping me from coming back. The models were so bad in some ways in CSGO so I'm hoping these guys can boost the quality of these things in all ways. I really still can't stand the choices made for some of the weapon handling. A company with the amount of talent Valve has using Boom Audio Libraries is pretty disappointing and the older effects were pretty bad on their own.

The animation is just an overlay to simulate that you are doing something and can be easily change or remove with a simple consoles command. Like Left 4 Dead 2 mod change the gun animation like a ton with some have multiple reload animation on source 1 which is an older then source 2.
These new models look sexy, but yeah the animations need some updating, maybe just some small tweaking to make it look less stiff but not as aggressive and exaggerated as call of duty's weapon animations.
It would be cool at least for CTs to get the MCX Spear and the Terrorists get the FN FAL as a potential 4th tier of battle rifles. Both of them can consistently three-shot armored opponents and both can one tap even if they fire at vErY uNrEaLiStIc rates of fire, thinking like 545 and 600 for the FAL and Spear respectively.
The weapons durning beta look waaaaay too clean, but after the release i notice most of the guns now look like "i've been through shit" condition, i mean, most of the default gun now look worn-off, and scratch around the gun instead of clean plastic look back in the beta.
I do wish we at least get the original Galil back as an alternative to the Galil ACE, but part of me wants it to have the reflex sight from the CS:GO beta.

shame they didn't make new animations. So many animators in youtube uploading their talent in animations they could have employed them and yet CS2 still uses these dated ones. Plus, I wish new skins for CS2 didn't just feature textures on guns but additional things like different foregrips, muzzle breaks, handguards, stocks, wraps, optics etc. that are all purely cosmetic (non-functional stuff since CS doesn't need to have the actual gameplay changing traits of these attachments like those found in other games like battlefield, cod, tarkov etc.)

These new models look sexy, but yeah the animations need some updating, maybe just some small tweaking to make it look less stiff but not as aggressive and exaggerated as call of duty's weapon animations.
11 years and they couldn't be bothered to at least modernize the weapon lineup.
It would be cool at least for CTs to get the MCX Spear and the Terrorists get the FN FAL as a potential 4th tier of battle rifles. Both of them can consistently three-shot armored opponents and both can one tap even if they fire at vErY uNrEaLiStIc rates of fire, thinking like 545 and 600 for the FAL and Spear respectively.

The weapons durning beta look waaaaay too clean, but after the release i notice most of the guns now look like "i've been through shit" condition, i mean, most of the default gun now look worn-off, and scratch around the gun instead of clean plastic look back in the beta.

shame they didn't make new animations. So many animators in youtube uploading their talent in animations they could have employed them and yet CS2 still uses these dated ones.
Plus, I wish new skins for CS2 didn't just feature textures on guns but additional things like different foregrips, muzzle breaks, handguards, stocks, wraps, optics etc. that are all purely cosmetic (non-functional stuff since CS doesn't need to have the actual gameplay changing traits of these attachments like those found in other games like battlefield, cod, tarkov etc.)
