- I've wanted to do a video series on pets for a while now. It'll be some time before the next loot video so, figured I'd start that series now. Pet attack speed has a lot of misinformation floating around so why not start there.
Any advice for how I can improve the vids? Post it in the comments! I'd love some feedback.
Be sure to check out my streams on Mixer!
mixer.com/bigb...
Just kidding, because Mixer died!
I'll probably stream on YT now.
You can also follow me on Instagram for updates when I go live and other random tings.

I'm also on Parler!
Man I'm consistently impressed with your stuff!
Really happy to hear that, thanks man.
That's a lot of counter points against a fast attacking pet, especially if you are NOT fighting a caster in pvp. Good video!
Thanks!
Gratz on the Crossbow hahahahaha I'm still waiting for mine...
More people need to see this video.
I love your stuff mate huge fan
wouldnt a better attack speed means more crits though? by proxy more dmg? Albeit an RNG based increase
This is well put together, thanks!
Thanks a lot! I try to be concise.
Plus, I'm not monetized so I don't need to stretch my videos to 10 minutes for an extra ad haha.
@@Bigbobbedboi You put out quality work, earned a new sub. I also shared your chan with my discord! Cheers.
@@brbodybuilder Thanks so much dude!!
Bjarn is best pet!
great video ty!
Big Bob is fucking kick ass dude.
Hi there, which wolf did you go with?
TL:DR get a 1.0 as for pvp as it's niche wherever it has a downsside and rather often it has an upside
As a hunter main, I am sick of all these non Hunters preaching about Brokentooth this and that. One Frost Nova alone makes BT useless. How can you pushback a mage if you can't even reach it lmao
Right! I'm gonna talk more about pvp pets later, but that's one reason I'm a big fan of wind serpents.
I've used as fast as possible through all of classic because of Gift of Arthas. I barely PvP anyway.
My pvp pets wind serpent with just dash and lighting
Gorila with nature damage aoe
And bat with sonic blast + Scorpio sting + gnomos shrink ray = best melee nulifier
While this is true to a degree these videos saying attack speed doesnt matter has gotten my server full of new players preaching that we all need to get 2.5 speed bears and its kind of getting annoying. Fast claw is the reason for fast attack speed for casters in pvp, maybe if I am using screech and want to share the focus dump going over 1.3 attack speed will make sense. Against Paladins probably want a boar anyway.
except in tests, 2.0 attack speed pets (cat vs cat) ARE NOT the same dps as the faster pets...2.0 is doing more dps for some reason
Theres a reason the top sim sheet uses a 2.0 attack speed pet
That doesn't make sense. They're not going to do more damage... for no reason. There would have to be a reason. I would double check those test results...
There's only a few reasons why a slower one would do more dmg. Stuff like getting feared could potential make a slower one do more dps since it's going to recover its swing timer while ccd.
Another possibility is there's some buff or debuff interacting with a pets swing speed in a way we don't understand, but that's extremely unlikely.
Also if slower was for "some reason" doing more damage.. wouldn't that bring bears into play with their 2.5 speed?
i aren't claiming it makes sense ^^ but its a thing
Look in to it at the higher end of raiding, theres a good chunk of players out there advocating this 2.0 attack speed being optimal. Its got to of originated form some where. maybe someone ran BT vs the 2.0 STV cat and logged the data and it backed it up..i dont know, all i know is there is enough advocation towards it and to me that means their has to of been some sort of data collected back ing it up (maybe it came over from pservers?)
And also its the suggest pet attacked speed on WatchYourSixx's classic sim sheet, which most take as the most accurate /researched/tested sim out there
im equally confused as to why though.
bears dont have the cats 10% dmg but yeah im still unsure on it. Only came across this vid as i was in the midst of googling to try find where it has all stemmed from.
I would be really weary of anyone advocating anything without any reason behind it.
thats what im saying though...stuff usually doesnt stem completely out of no where, gotta be a reason ^^ maybe it was tested somewhere
If you dig deep enough theres quite a few suggesting it, along with the sim sheet
But id still ofc like to understand why
2.0 Sims better because of the stealth opener tooth combo
