If married in community of property (ICOP), also consider what happens should one partner passes on and they have accumulated significant debt. Or even whilst both partners are still alive and there is a business involved (owned by one of the partners) whatever debts of the business are the responsibility of both partners. (So many more scenarios to consider before making this decision).
This 1 is a ‘must NOT’ hey!!!? Yhoo! Especially if u’re older coz people will probably come in with crazy amounts of debt. I think it’s a no go area, although I only used to believe in it.

I think you need to ask yourself, is this person the love of your life or a business partner who might do you dirty. The truth comes out just right here.
