Joe, always educational thanks. I learned soooo much especially about the cell phone on your lap and potential loss of “you know what”! Good that Kia engineered that small pocket into the Sorento. This is the one I’d buy but my only concern is Hyundai/Kia 4 cylinder motors and issues they’ve had with the 2.4 and 2.0 turbo. Wish they would have kept the 3.3 V6 as an option on the top end model. I actucally watched the whole video and not skipping one second because I am liking this vehicle a lot. This may not be my everyday car but I cannot think of a better vehicle for outdoor adventures with my family (Subaru is ok but the interior sucks). I would not use the 3rd row seats 99.99% of my time but it's ok (even better if Kia has 2 row seats option). The LCD display is a blast, great job Kia and great job Joe!

Keep up the great work I appreciate your honesty in the reviews, love your channel.
@@Coupydog That's the thing though. The Telluride is so production limited that most people that want one either have to wait many months for one or can't get one at all. Kia doesn't want to lose those customers completely so they offer the next best option, a three row Sorento (more limited in space), but with a better gauge cluster (all digital) and a stronger quicker engine for a bit less...
This is one of the best looking SUV offerings for 2021 coming from KIA! The tail lights are 100%LED & look fine on the vehicle. My Zonk is the single sided exhaust exit, as they practice on too many other vehicles down the line; Hyundai as well. These Koreans need to learn, dual exhaust exits aren't just a necessity, but absolutely balance the look of the vehicles, adding a high-end/sporty overtone.
I drive a 2019 Blazer. Chevy's digging itself deeper into a hole each year by NOT improving things we'd pointed out; they shoulda done & still haven't improved on the vehicle! LED Brake Lights & better quality trim on rear door panels. How hard is this in 2021, sheesh 😳
My biggest ZONK on this one is the lack of memory seat settings for the Driver...crazy that with all the other amazing technology, they neglected such a common feature that I personally use all the time! Otherwise, this is another great stride forward for Hyundai/KIA as they continue to deliver the most bang for your buck in the auto market right now. Thanks for the review!
@@RaitisRides it's so tough to choose SUVs these days but this SUV is great captain's chairs means everything honestly you can't really find a flaw with this I'm debating whether to go with this or the competition such as the Traverse , Acadia, Enclave , Bronco Sport , Bronco , Wrangler , Grand Cherokee or Cherokee, Santa Fe , Rogue ,Hylander , CX9 it's really tough to pick one which one would you go for
Love the videos! You are the best at reviews! My brother in just bought a 2022 Hyundai Palisade calligraphy in the Rainforest color it’s like a green in the sun and a gray on darker days…. Is the Kia Sorrento Aruba Green color the Hyundai Rainforest color? Thanks keep up the awesome reviews!
Depends in part whether you put a bike rack on the rear end and have to park in a crowded garage. The eight inches saved in length means I can park our Sorento in the garage without removing the bike rack and lower the garage door.
Nice informative review. We are very excited to own this vehicle. Kia is making very good vehicles. We have a 2018 Kia Sorento that we leased We are upgrading to the 2021 Kia Sorento X Line. Inventories are so low that we had to order one. Hopefully we get to pick it up by the end of March.
Joe Raiti, you have become my favorite car reviewer on RUclips, been subscribed to you for a good minute. Keep up the great work!! PS: Lori you are awesome with the camera work!!
I got this exact Sorento today. Kind of hard to find, but i found one arriving in another town...I believe with the AWD it drops a mpg though, 21 city and 28 highway. Also it's 281HP. Watched your review before and after getting it, to learn some of the features. Good video. :)
Hey Joe, are you using a new camera? The quality looks better. I agree on the taillights but maybe there’s a size requirement. Love the Sorento but not the interior color. Sorento or Passport Elite with a V6? 🤔 Thanks for the review and as always.... nice job! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks for noticing Larry, I sure am. I think for smooth power deliver the V6 in the Passport is preferred but this Kia brings such a better look and I love the interior.
My X identical Line is three weeks old (had to wait 4 weeks to get it) and I have a few minor gripes and one major one. Major - LOUD wind noise on the passenger side above 35 MPH. Minor - No memory seat / mirror controls No HomeLink No sunglass holder in headliner Mike
I like the double lights in the back. I actually think the whole vehicle looks great! I've always thought KIA interiors always lagged behind others, but they are getting better.
Kia hands down makes the best looking interiors! Honda Passport needs to step up their games in this department. That screen is awesome but gloss black isn’t cute because of finger prints. Should’ve had two exhaust tips like the Passport Trail Sport trim but hit a home run with the front Tiger nose grille.
I was considering buying that but a hybrid version. Didn't want to wait so i bought a kia niro 2020 very happy i did because get phenomenal great mpg, 1 time driving across reno NV to California i got 85 mpg ,that was very impressive.
Loved the colour, height off the ground, shape and a lot of the features. Didn't like the recline and movement of the middle seats as thought they would be electronic.
I remember when the sorento and sportage were body on frame 4x4s I also remember the borrego, i miss that thing, dear Kia bring that thing back please 😊
I’ll probably get this in the future once they fix any recalls. I wish they would’ve kept horsepower at 290 for this Sorento so that it’ll be faster for highway merges and keeping up with the flow of traffic. KIA and Hyundai needs to bring their blind spot view monitor cameras to the K5 GT and Sonata N Line.
As an owner of a 2018 Sorento I have to say the elimination of seat memory along with deletion of extending thigh support and reduction of 4 way lumbar to a two way version are more than minor issues. My wife, my daughter, and I all drive our Sorento and seat memory is a HUGE convenience. The Sorento isn't a two seat sports car. It's a FAMILY vehicle.
The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fen has both the digital display and the memory seats. It also has heated and ventilated second row, laminated front windows and digital key. Just can't get over that front styling...
Left our 2017 Sorrento SX for the new X-Line. We bought ours in Waco Texas. Love the Aruba Green and everything about this X-Line. Agree with having third row seats as an option. We will probably NEVER use that third row. Our 2017 had much more cargo space due to no third row.
I love how the interior of this Sorento was configurated. The materials and the colours look pretty good.

Oh yeah! Thanks JaeQuan!
That is a good point.
I like the cargo nets because if you put stuff in you don't risk losing it in a deep pocket
So very true!
@@RaitisRides it's so tough to choose SUVs these days but this SUV is great captain's chairs means everything honestly you can't really find a flaw with this I'm debating whether to go with this or the competition such as the Traverse , Acadia, Enclave , Bronco Sport , Bronco , Wrangler , Grand Cherokee or Cherokee, Santa Fe , Rogue ,Hylander , CX9 it's really tough to pick one which one would you go for
@@RaitisRides what's the best SUV you reviewed? That's near this price range
Damn that's nice! I love that green and the gray color from the previous Sorento video.
Thanks Claudio!
Joe,I don't even drive...but I watch your reviews for the heck of it.
Thanks you Chapie for taking the time to say that!
Question is - Kia Telluride or the New Sorento?
I still would go Telluride but you know what this Sorento is really bringing it big!
Joe< your reviews are "spot on" really enjoyable....Thank for reviewing this vehicle!!
My X identical Line is three weeks old (had to wait 4 weeks to get it) and I have a few minor gripes and one major one.
Major - LOUD wind noise on the passenger side above 35 MPH.
Minor - No memory seat / mirror controls
No HomeLink
No sunglass holder in headliner
Mike
Hey Mike! Congrats on your new X-Line. I would get that window checked out.
DAMN JOE ALL THESE SUV'S YOU'VE BEEN SHOWING ARE AMAZING SO MUCH VARIETY. HARD TO CHOOSE JUST ONE 😂
I am so glad that you are enjoying it! I love bringing it to you!
When’s the highest trim Kia k5 coming out?
Funny thing Danny it was already supposed to be out but the pandemic pushed it back. Should be in the next month.
@@RaitisRides okay cool 👍
@@Danny-sh9ib Stay tuned for sure!
@@RaitisRides I will 😎
Good call on the brake lights, looks better how you said.
Thanks for saying that!
Great review! Another awesome video love this Chanel! Keep it up! Kia killed it with the new Sorrento!
I like the double lights in the back. I actually think the whole vehicle looks great! I've always thought KIA interiors always lagged behind others, but they are getting better.
2:05 That would've been the perfect opportunity to say "And I'm gonna Telluride now..."!!
They really have upped the game for sure Isaac!
I was considering buying that but a hybrid version. Didn't want to wait so i bought a kia niro 2020 very happy i did because get phenomenal great mpg, 1 time driving across reno NV to California i got 85 mpg ,that was very impressive.
Hey Joe, even if they filled the space in between the tail light, and make it look more like one light, You and Lori keep up the great videos
Loved the colour, height off the ground, shape and a lot of the features. Didn't like the recline and movement of the middle seats as thought they would be electronic.
I think at this price point that would be pushing it.
I remember when the sorento and sportage were body on frame 4x4s
I also remember the borrego, i miss that thing, dear Kia bring that thing back please 😊
I totally remember that!
I love the rear lights... very unique!
I do agree with that gloss black on the exterior.....I definitely prefer the matte black as well. Maybe that will be a change for the 2022?
We will see Jo Marie!
Okay this is a great suv for the price range that people can afford with all the luxury
I totally agree with you Richard!
Good idea!
Joe! How did you miss or not mention a huge “ZONK”? The absence of memory seating?! It’s not even an option!
I guess for me I rather have the digital display.
I move my seat a lot while driving so for me I don’t need memory seats but I can certainly see why Kia should offer it for those who appreciate them
As an owner of a 2018 Sorento I have to say the elimination of seat memory along with deletion of extending thigh support and reduction of 4 way lumbar to a two way version are more than minor issues. My wife, my daughter, and I all drive our Sorento and seat memory is a HUGE convenience. The Sorento isn't a two seat sports car. It's a FAMILY vehicle.
@@RaitisRides I’d rather have the memory seats than the hidden rear wiper.
The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fen has both the digital display and the memory seats. It also has heated and ventilated second row, laminated front windows and digital key. Just can't get over that front styling...
Saw one of these on the road yesterday. Looks excellent. I would own this.
I have this in the 2022 absolutely love it!
Left our 2017 Sorrento SX for the new X-Line. We bought ours in Waco Texas. Love the Aruba Green and everything about this X-Line. Agree with having third row seats as an option. We will probably NEVER use that third row. Our 2017 had much more cargo space due to no third row.
Congrats on your new X-Line! I totally agree about that 3rd row situation.
Nice! I want one but I’m leaning more towards a new hybrid Sorento.
I have one and l love everything about it there is nothing wrong with this car I wouldn’t change anything 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great review I traded in my 2019 merano For this car And I love it Just got it yesterday thank you. West Chester County New York :)
I agree with you about the tail lights... I'm team Telluride anyways... I drool every time I see that truck 🤤
I know how you feel!
Great lesson thanks man. From Curitiba
You are so wonderful!
How are you Joe? Love the aggressive style Kia did to the Sorento! I just wished it was blacked out! ;D
I am good Tom! I am glad that you like this one.
@@RaitisRides Yeet!
Love the content! Can you start putting the MSRP in the description?
Should I look at the power seat controls, or that big manly watch???
You are awesome! Thanks for watching!
