- At an unknown point in time, the damaged Gundam Kimaris Trooper was brought to the Outer Lunar Orbit Joint Fleet (aka Arianrhod Fleet) and under the orders of Rustal Elion, it was overhauled into the Gundam Vidar for Vidar's use. During the overhaul, the damaged parts of the Gundam Frame were replaced with new parts produced using the current technology. As part of the overhaul process, the mobile suit first became the ASW-G-XK XK to test its systems, before it achieved its current final form. Overall, the suit spent a long time undergoing maintenance and adjustment, and only Rustal and a few others in the Arianhod Fleet were aware of its existence.
The cockpit structure of the Gundam Vidar has the characteristics of Gjallarhorn's mobile suits, and does not contain the connectors for the Alaya-Vijnana system. Instead, it is fitted with a pseudo Alaya-Vijnana system, the Alaya-Vijnana Type E, which has the same strength as the original but without the risk. Details of this system are only known by some of those in charge of the suit's development.
Another special feature is the third Ahab Reactor on the Gundam Vidar's back, in addition to the two in the Gundam Frame which already produces more than sufficient energy to power the mobile suit. This third reactor's true purpose is to grant the suit a new Ahab Wave frequency, hence concealing its true identity. Scanners simply report the Gundam Vidar as "Gjallarhorn Unit No. 21". The added weight of the third reactor does not affect the suit's mobility thanks to the excess output from the two Ahab reactors. To further conceal the suit's identity, its armaments discard those that would give the image of Kimaris, and center around light and fast weaponry.

IMO, this Vidar is actually the coolest mobile suit in the IBO series. Totally unrated even though as powerful as the Barbatos Lupus Rex.
The Barbatos is strong bc of the pilot the vidar is only strong due the suits system not the pilot

Surprisingly the show going downward spiral after the Vidar last encounter, the one that have the idea of "ancient weapon is very rare" and proceed to having "we have the unlimited ancient nail launcher" need to be fired.

@frostmistgaming The other seven stars units besides Kimaris and Zagan were instead featured in the MSV section of IBO ms. MSV means that it's likely they're not appearing in Ibo Urdr Hunt's plot, since we already have Zagan in it.
このシャープかつ黒をメインにしたダークな雰囲気がたまらんなあ。もっと活躍シーン見たかったな。足ブレードや突き刺して内側から爆発するサーベルとかもかなり好き。
個人的に戦法がギャン（サーベル）、イージスやジャスティス（蹴り斬り）、デュナメスやケルディム（ハンドガン）、って感じがする。
過去作のMSを思わせる戦法が好き。
ヴィダールといいオービタルといいシュヴァルゼッテといい、なんで俺の好きなガンダムは不遇なんだ！！
でもデザインは最強にカッコいい！！！最高！！

Personally i quite like the kimaris vidar over the Vidar but it's a shame it had next to no quality combat screen time that most others got
incase you didn't know it's the frame of kimaris with different armor/weapons and that's why they put a 3rd ahab reactor at the back

Ein taking over Vidar's control gave us a brief glimpse of how powerful these machines are at the hands of its previous pilots. Imagine how scary Agnika Kaieru was if he managed to slay Mobile Armors with just Bael's shitty dual blades.

It really annoys me how lately a lot of series introduce really cool suit designs only to showcase them for a short amount of time. IBO and Witch are prime examples of this; I think Bandai has become greedier with wanting to push more toys.
to be fair, many of the mobile suit designs in WitchoM were developed by an art director of Armored Core, which is why we saw more "modern-like" utilitarian designed suits as well as some of the more unique designs that only got basically 5 seconds of screen-time. And for WitchoM, it was way less greed and more of the fact that the art design was too good for a 1-season anime.
Vidar one doesn't make sense more, like why it turn back into Kimaris?? If it got broken they can just repair Vidar back to normal just like what they did for other MS in the show

@@Asian_Jesus. Correction only Peil tech has one of the artists from AC4/ACfA, Kawamori nor Saitoh is involved in WfM, Takayuki Yanase from AC2 however did made the side gundams for 00 (basically anything not Exia-based)
@@Asian_Jesus. Wataru Inata is the AC4 artist you're talking about, and he only designed the Peil Industries MS. The rest of the series' mobile suits were designed by either new blood like JNTHED who did the Aerial and Lfrith, or Gundam veteran designers like Takayuki Yanase (the Lfrith Thorn and Lfrith Ur), Kanetake Ebikawa (Grassley mechs,), and Ippei Gyoubu (Jeturk mechs).

レアアロイはモビルスーツのフレーム材及びバルバトスの太刀とかメイスのやつね
あとこの時点だとバエルの武装は翼につけられた滑腔砲以外判明してないから、折られるって理由でバーストサーベルを使わなくなるとは思えないけど

Don’t get me wrong the high grade and full mechanics are okay at what they do, only problem is the joints loosing over time and less detail than a master grade. So happy to get an actual mg release!

着脱使い捨て型の理由の半分がそれ（もう半分は刺突時に敵機から抜け無くなる可能性が高いから）。
まあ、アニメだとキマリスヴィダールの小型ダインスレイブ発射機構と同じくお蔵入りになってますが。

barbatos can solo vidar but they had to put him 1v1 up against Mcgilis for plot. otherwise barbatos would have fucked him up and McGilis would still be alive and win

He started with the lamest suit, got a cool suit mid season then ended up with the lame version at the end again..
