ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris Vidar

After Vidar removed his mask and revealed himself to be Gaelio Bauduin, the Gundam Vidar was retrofitted into the Gundam Kimaris Vidar, reclaiming the name Kimaris. This conversion was conducted quickly as it was planned from the beginning. The Gundam Vidar's Alaya-Vijnana Type E was retained, but the third Ahab Reactor was purged as it only served to hide the suit's true identity, which is no longer needed. The Gundam Kimaris Vidar is meant for the decisive battle against McGillis Fareed and his Gundam Bael. This variation of the Kimaris has existed since the Calamity War era.
The Gundam Kimaris Vidar's equipment is the same as those used in the Calamity War era, and meant to give it an advantage in zero-gravity combat, making it the polar opposite of the Gundam Kimaris Trooper, whose equipment is meant for ground combat. Besides having a drill lance and a sword as its main weapons, Kimaris Vidar is also armed with a pair of drill knee and two shields. With its variety of weapons, the suit has the potential to be used in any range, and is considered to have a high level of completion amongst the Kimaris’ variations. Like the Gundam Kimaris and Gundam Kimaris Trooper, the Gundam Kimaris Vidar's primary battle style involves hit-and-run attacks with its lance.

​@@claresaprama499 Gaelio did survive the death once, not only he survived death he also used Eins brain for his Alaya-Vijnana System Type E which remove the limiter and gave him twice of data processing during combat that enhances Mobile Suit performance by a miles away unlike Mcgillis that piloted Bael with limiter still untouched.. Basically Mcgillis isn't capable enough to remove the limiter like Mikazuki did with Barbatos...

​@@frostmistgamingThat's partially incorrect. Alaya-Vijnana Type E system let's Ein brain take over Gaelios body for combat, so it's more of a hybrid system. Kimaris doesn't go red eye so it's still limited. Alaya-Vijnana Type E has issues with melee combat so McGillis still has the advantage. We didn't see the full extent of the system until the end when Gaelios fully submitted to the system, but it's still miles behind Mika/Barbatos.

Conceptually, the weapon is terrible were it not specifically designed for this purpose. His foot blades from Kimaris Vidar are actually better objectively as weapons since they can strike from odd angles and have a wider range of motion. But this ridiculous weapon is designed so that if you do get through his lance, he can just shove something within cockpit range and go back to fighting. It is also unlikely for his enemies to get him from behind since he's a high speed model designed to charge straight through a battlefield.

Since the IBO (Gjallarhorn) MSuits are all styled to emphazise knights armors and mediaval melee combat, the knee drills are designated grapple combat /closest range weapons in the fashion of estocs or misericordias/Gnadgotts, to target a suits' vitals (the cockpit or joints). They also close that significant gap in the Kimaris' offence that had been causing problems in fights before.

I find it hilarious at Gaelio mocking his enemies for being pawns yet he is a pawn of Rustal Elion as if he is an equal to Arianrhod Fleet supreme leader who just needed an attack dog with the right tools.

Except he's not, his only goal is revenge, it's even in his name "Vidar". He is fighting not for Rustal, but revenge for himself, his sister, his close friend, and the lady he loved. It's just that working with Rustal will help him achieve his goals.

It’s because of Gaelio’s Simple Brain and need for Revenge that Blinds him to being so Loyal to Gjallohorn! So Yes! He did become an Attack Dog for Rustal!
And by the end, he actually becomes remorseful, as Gaelio did not understand McGillis’ Ideal.

@@danielramsey6141 You should watch it again. Gaelio always wanted to improve the world, and that's why he was following Mcgillis in S1, because that was what McGillis promised. At that point Gaelio's sense of justice was warped by Gjallarhorn ideology which held him back. After the betrayal, Gaelio was at first obsessed with getting his revenge in any way possible, going as far as to throw away his and his Gundam's name and replacing it with Vidar, the norse god of revenge, while also letting go of his stigma against human modification ingrained into him by Gjallarhorn in order to achieve his goal. This letting go of self and obsession with the enemy eventually led to understanding, as Gaelio finally pieced the puzzle together and realized McGillis isn't an traitorous all-powerful liberator of the helpless, but a victim acting upon his trauma, but by the time of the final battle in the Kimaris Vidar and Bael, even if Gaelio understands now, McGillis refuses to listen and is too far gone to be saved from his own folly that grew too big to manage and the only way to give him peace was to lay him to rest. That's why here he says McGillis isn't listening to what he's saying, and later towards the conclusion of the story he says he wished he understood McGillis sooner as in before he went on a crusade he can't win based on fairy tale and childhood trauma. Also, despite the hatred towards McGillis before coming to an understanding, Vidar teamed up with Rustal because Rustal was someone who could actually change Gjallarhorn for the better and not some psycopath in a relic spouting legends. The whole existence of Kimaris Vidar is also the pinnacle of modern technology made to prove that legends cannot hold up to reality of here and now, and the way to fix things is to move on, not go back.

マッキー強いなぁ。バエルは厄災戦当時のままとはいえ殆ど武装がなくリミッターも解除してないのに、アイン脳の恩恵でバルバトス相当の反応速度にリミッター解除してそうなキマリスが武装を根こそぎ使って辛勝だもん。
一期の時点で普通にガエリオを圧倒できる程度に強いといっても、ここまでやって辛勝って。

キマリスヴィダール以外は厄災戦後に新造したみたいに書かれてるのは気のせいだろうか？

Kimaris Vidar is the calamity war version according to the kit manual and some technical works book.
Kimaris form 1 from season 1 was probably a post-war downgrade or an alternate equipment set used for light high speed space combat as opposed to the all out heavy space combat KV is kitted out for. And Trooper is built for ground combat.
I like to think all three existed during the calamity war, with the equipment being changed depending on the situation.

Galahorn Banned the dainslef so they stripper them of the gundams
I find it disgusting how they are the first to Use it against humans
They attacked the Turbines with it bc they were blamed for the flauos firing it at an Mobile Armor/its plumas (something it was desinged for and should had been okay to do so)
And then they used it on Rebellin gallahorn forces just bc they Fell like it
Then Label humans as Monsters so that you have an justification to use it
I know its war but breaking rules you set up at the first place just to brake it is not an good immage

This thing is a huge downgrade from Vidar for me in terms of visual appeal, but the callback to Gaelio's original machine is cool, and it's certainly formidable.
And I have to admit that I love the knee drill.

I really like the Vidar but the Kimaris Vidar is cool even though it dropped the blue and black color scheme.
The Vidar isnt a Kimaris upgrade so it makes sense my Gaelio dropped the Vidar disguise
