I believe the point of the lance is to give you distance to stop you getting soaked and to reduce manual handling bending and reaching to reach those areas you mentioned. It's horses for courses in my view.
Thanks for commenting. I agree with your point about having to bend down to reach the wheel arches, sills etc. Some people use angled extension lances (Pressure Washer Lance Extension... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B093GVTRJ3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) to make this easier. Personally, I find that the flat fan shaped spray pattern of the stubby gun is more precise and is better at cleaning than the cone spray pattern of the lance but as you say, it's horses for courses 🙂

Hey Ted, perfect video! I have a K5 compact with one of these stubbies. I also have a metal quick release 10 inch lance with a bend on the end for the stubby. I have the MJJC foam v2, but I was using it with the karcher lance and adapter. I bought the quick release fitting for the foam gun to stubby and finally used all the kit today. Such a huge improvement as you pointed out! I will only use the karcher lance and dirtblaster for the patio now. One thing though, I was unsure about using the green or yellow nozzles on the car, so used the white to be safe. I would have liked to use the yellow after snowfoam in winter, but was too scared. Maybe I will try green.
Thanks for the great feedback Simon. I've invested in one of those quick release lances as well. Makes it much easier to clean the sills and wheel arches 👍
Hey Big Ted, I’ve just bought and used this on my car and it was so much easier. The cable to the Karcher didn’t twist, I wasn’t falling over it or it wasn’t getting snagged as well. It was honestly an ease. I got it from EuroCar Parts too. I have a K3 lance but you have to unscrew the bolts on the lance and it’s a plastic end instead of the one you’ve got in the video. Just put more enjoyment back into it. Green fan pattern seemed really good, didn’t go orange and I’ve taken red out altogether 😂
thanks for the video! i wonder if the orifice size can tweak the pressure to flow ratio, because when i tried on my k2, i can get a flow rate that's slightly higher than karcher's claim. have u tried with ur k4? i think the stock multi angle nozzle has an orifice size of 3 (or 040), while u can tweak with size 4 (or 050), that'll lower ur pressure to maybe sub 100 bar but increase ur water flow.
I was wondering, how it would behave, if I change “Power Control” gun with power levels selector… is the last settings saved (so you have to change guns for setting the power degree) or is it all the time running on “turbo” mode?
@richownz It will work with any of the Karcher K series pressure washers. I'm not familiar with the smart K7, so I'm afraid I can't help with the auto pressure setting.

It would be a convenient switch from the big gun to the stubby gun if i did not have to remove the swivel. Have you tried that? Thanks! David
Hi David, You don't need to remove the swivel connector if you have one. I only removed it for the video because most people won't have one and I wanted to show the setup that they will have. The quick fit connector on the karcher swivel is exactly the same as the one on the end of the hose so it will fit in the stubby gun.

I have the k3 power control and the connect on the hose is not really the same as the one you show, do the karcher adapter with the gun would work on this one ?
I'm thinking of getting one of these, my only concern is that with the Karcher K4, the only way of controlling the water pressure is with the vario lance, not the actual pump itself - I'm guessing with the short trigger gun, you're using the max pressure from the K4? Usually with the vario lance I have it turned down to the "car" setting which seems to be 2/3rds of its max pressure...
