Thinking about pickup a pair of Bishop BMF/R's. I currently have 75mm boots but wondering if I should upgrade to a NTN boot (BMF/R comes in both 75mm and NTN setup). I have been alpine skiing for 40+ yrs and tele for 5+ yrs. now. I want to have a good 80% resort/20% backcountry and uphill skinning setup. From my research on the internet, you would think that guys with 75mm boots vs NTN boots were doing two completely seperate sports (lots of opinions). Since the BMF/R's can handle both . . . its really just about what boot is a better all around boot going forward.

Hi, Just found this channel and learnt a lot about the new telemark equipment. After 20 yrs of hiatus, I started skiing again with the original T1 boots. I tried on a pair of the new T1 early this year on a demo day in the east coast. It was a 28, but I just couldnt get my feet into the boot. I finally got my feet in after 15 minutes of trying. Once in, my feet felt fine. I am looking into the NTN equipment because the new tech makes sense to me and the step in/out feature appeals to me; bending down to release the cable is a chore for my old back. Anyway, is the Scarpa TX PRO flex softer than the current 75mm T1, and would I have a easier time to get in the TX PRO. I also see that it has a 102 last.

I'm a transvert from alpine to tele and all I know so far from the difference between 75mm and ntn is that with 75mm everyone apres knows you tele

Fair enough. You gotta move from the duckbill identification to the bellow identification.

So why would one choose ntn instead of 75mm. I see they connect differently

NTN will be the platform that new telemark bindings are going to be made moving forward. 75mm works great, but it's unlikely that there will be any new technology, bindings or boots based on it. Advantages of NTN include: more lateral stability, more options for customization of flex, and releasability.
