Have used the outlaw and the freedom from roteffella ntn bindings and the one comment I would like to add is that the heal piece on the Outlaw is very small. I think the larger heal piece on the Roteffella, because it is wider, can put more edge pressure down on the front foot in a tele turn. The Outlaw heal peace bars stay up better though and I think they are better for skinning up hill. What do you think of the 22 designs heal piece and having it made wider? thanks Michael

PS I am switching to the Outlaw X this season cant wait to try it. Used the Outlaw for 2 seasons and really love this binding.

Interesting point Michael. Agreed that the climbing wire is superior on the Outlaw. It's just a smaller cleaner design. Not sure on edge pressure comparison, but your point makes sense. I don't think making the 22 one wider would hurt, but we haven't heard many complaints either. Thx for chiming in.

Telemark Skier Magazine thanks for your reply. I don’t think most tele skiers will complain about the narrow heal piece and want a wider one because most tele skiers make skidded turns vs laying carved tele railroad tracks. This style of making a turn is something I have picked up in tele clinics including race clinics and is very fun. Nastar tele races and Terrain park freestyle competition could be a great way to help grow the sport and learn new styles of tele skiing.

I love my Outlaws! Best bindings I've ever had. That being said stepping in can be a b!+@$ sometimes. Wish there was some sort of hack to correct that. Is there any routine maintenance that should be done?

The brake is definitely tough! We agree. As far as we have found there isn't really a hack but you can make sure to keep the tubes lubricated with some marine style grease to keep it smooth.

@@FreeheelLife on the originals, I've developed a high angle "kick" to get the boot toe into the binding'd toe box. Can help to hold skis with a pole at the same time.

@@StrttonSynergy1112 We've done that one! Thx for mentioning.

Are the brakes still an issue on the Outlaw X? Thanks

@@FreeheelLife I read a few reviews that claimed the brakes were finicky. Regardless, I'm gonna get them. Thanks for the recommendation and also, I spoke with the G3 guys and mentioned you had recommended their Findr. They seemed pretty pleased ;-)

Sounds like less so with the X. I ordered a set to try on my resort skis.

@@jacquestejeda5554 Usually in a shop situation we'll recommend brakes to people that have a ski waist width that fits well with the brakes. This is because they don't retract and hang over, so you want them to fit pretty tight. Any extra width isn't much of an issue in the resort but more so on the skin track when your feet are close together and they can hang up on each other.

@@manitou2200 Yes the X is much easier because of how the 2nd heel goes on!
